This property management is the worst i have ever rented from in my life the property where I was living at and am still at waiting for my funding for my new place this company doesn't care about how the property looks ive had people looking apartments knock on my door during the past year asking if I recommended the property. And I said no. Because there is garbage everywhere outside homeless people just throw their garbage to the dumpster after its been emptied there is homeless people that are coming and going at all hours of the day and night looking for drugs and sit outside the property smoking fentanayl pills they bothered me when I was in bed in the middle of the night asking me if I used drugs and im a disabled citizen and said hell no I don't they are crooks at this rental agency they dont care about the safety and health of their tenants they rent to just about anybody anyways and they target and discriminate disabled renters and single them thats what they have been doing to me for the whole time i.lived here just over a year I will never rent from go renter again in my lifetime nor will I recommend them to anybody I know now or in the future because their customer service sucks and alot of the property owners that go thru them to rent units are slumlords who just like go renter like to milk a property for profit and rip off and steal from tenants bank accounts and who charges a tenant fees to rent an apartment a sign a lease especially in a run down drug swamped property 1 mile away from downtown Phoenix and then and tenant tax to it as well I paid over 2000.00 to move into one of their properties in Central Phoenix In June of 2020 biggest mistake that I regret making because of the type of tenants and crowd of traffic that comes in and out of the property looking for drugs Attatched are pictures of what im talking about the garbage and ect l the address im referring to is the 1609 w Latham street address in central phoenix zip code 85007 its very disgraceful and shameful They give a great impression because their office is spectacular but they aren't once you get to the property where your unit is located. Gorenter isn't the place you want to rent from. They don't care about the renters, just their clients (homeowners). We've rented from them for a few years and they are garbage. They take their time getting repairs done, (sometimes months!), don't respond to your emails, won't take calls in a timely fashion, I could keep going, But what's the point? Point is , they are a horrible company and shouldn't be in the rental or customer service business. Its a shame, because we love where we live, and would like to stay longer, but this is our last lease with them. It's best to find a homeowner that doesn't go through these rental agencies, you'll have a much better experience renting a home. read more

As a home owner using this company as a property manager I can not recommend this company. I have had issues with communication and find that they nickel and dime the tenant and land owners. Would recommend avoiding this agency at all costs. Between the time I saw the property and the time I moved in (2 weeks), the back gate to the alley disappeared. I submitted several maintenance requests with the agency finally informing me the owners were aware and would fix the gate as soon as the vacant property next door was rented. That came and went. I eventually spent my own money and created a makeshift gate to keep the undesirables who were using the property as a shortcut out. Upon moving out of the property 2 years later (and never missing or being late on a payment), they not only informed me I'd not be receiving any of my initial deposit back, they sent a bill for $300+. Cleaning and maintenance fees, even though I cleaned and maintained the place. I suppose it's something standard that they try and pass on to everyone who rents from them. read more

I rented a place for one year through Gorenter - and the agent I worked with there (Ryan) was prompt, organized, timely and extremely helpful every step of the process. I never had a maintenance issue at the property I rented so I cannot speak to their responsiveness in that area. I would deal with Ryan again in a heartbeat. read more

Worse than the worst. After multiple evictions over last couple of years and two within a few months of each other, and huge losses I cancelled my owners contract with GoRenter. I've used other companies in different towns and never seen anything this bad. I'd like to say they just don't know how to manage properties but it appears to be far more calculated than that. After cancelling the contract the fees began, many in the fine print of their contracts: All told about $2000.00 of which nearly $1000.00 was for uncollected late fees from renters, some from the prior year, and fees that I'd never heard about before cancelling. (Appears the late fees from prior renters were accumulating. I can say for sure they didn't tell ME until I cancelled the contract, then suddenly I was billed for all these past tenants accumulating costs) Thank God I cancelled this, they would have just kept adding up and there may still be surprises yet to come. (Read the other reviews) I just cancelled my other gorenter property management agreement as well because the renter explained to me that they were having to pay administrative fees, renewal fees, and automatic rent increase to renew the lease and were going to be forced to move because it was just too expensive. (This would mean more expenses for me and of course, more revenue for GoRenter. Now I know why I kept losing tenants). I talked the renter into staying if I changed management companies and figured it was worth it in the long run because good renters are hard to find. Very lucky I did this now rather than later even though I expect a large bill from GoRenter. The bottom line is: After several years of "managing" my properties GoRenter seems to have most of the money in their account due to all their various compounding charges and hidden fees, and in my experience it appears to be a very deliberate well calculated method that leaves both the home owner and renters feeling it wasn't a fair deal. I'm saying OUCH, and suggest that you READ ALL OF THE REVIEWS very closely because I'm just sharing my personal experience. The team is mega-responsive to my property needs they are good at selecting great tenants, they maximized my rental income and have always worked quickly to make sure that the property is maintained and that the tenants have what they need. I never have to worry about what's going on as their website and email communication is easy to navigate. All of my financial dealings are in one place and makes tax time easy. I have been waiting for my lease to be done and my deposit check returned to write this review because I feared retribution or some BS fine for speaking my truth. Go Renter is awful and as a renter, I would run the other way if you come across one of their properties. They are one of the worst companies I've ever dealt with. Their contract written and is meant to confuse you. It's a scam! One one page it says one thing while on the other page it contradicts. They will use and find any excuse they can to send "certified mail" which costs about $2 so they can charge $35 in certified mailing fees on documents they already emailed!!! Every time I turned around I was getting $35 fees tacked onto my rent, all if them BS. I one-time received a $35 fee I had to fight for a car that was parked in front of my next-door neighbors house in the street! The car was not mine. I always had to fight to get repairs done, we moved to the house in June and the pool was green when I moved in. The air conditioner was broken, lightbulbs burned out everywhere, BUT they require all the lightbulbs to be replaced and in working order when you move out. My elderly parents nearly had heat stroke as a result of the air conditioner being broken...they did NOT care. They come up with BS fees to nickel and dime the tenants to death and you are guilty until proven innocent. Their business practices are about profit, not about the people they serve. If you're a property owner, I'm not sure what value they could possibly bring to you. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. I'm surprised a judge hasn't stopped them or the department of real estate revolved their real estate license to put a stop to their deceitful business practices yet. read more

Shame on me. I read all the negative reviews, but since my brother in law uses them I tried them out. My only advice is read the contract! After many months of sitting empty, I decided to terminate my agreement. It only cost me ~$1300 to terminate, in addition to the monthly fee they charged while my house was vacant. But, the fees were in the contract so I paid up. It was at this point that I started referring to the company as NoRenters, LLC. In my defense, I honestly thought I would have no problems renting the place out, the agreement is written so that if the house rents, you might save some money vs a regular property management company. But, if like me it sits empty and your terminate early, you will be fleeced. But, all the fees are written into the contract so I cant argue. I turned over the property to CPL Properties and it was rented within 2 weeks. BTW - CPL does not have a termination fee, that's right folks, its $0 to terminate the agreement at any time! This is probably true of alot of other rental companies so do your research! Cons: They were not very good at getting the home rented and their fees are high! Pros: errrr, they have an airtight contract? Is that a pro? I like to end with a positive so I will leave that here. Go Renter provided my property management. Informed them in August we were selling home and realtor estimated approx 6 months to sell. Go Renter notified: when I put in the cancellation I was charged over $1000 in Fees. They are thieves.......do not use them. See a posting that in 10/2011 they had a C- they are now have a perfect F rating on BBB due to complaints and reviews from both tenants and owners. There are other companies out there to use - get the word out and people need to stop giving these guys money. What pull owners in is the $75 monthly fee, you think it is a bargain - you get what you pay for. Our tenant had our contact information and we were constantly having to get Go Renter to stop charging fees for things that were not true (we knew they had dogs and agreed upon their move in, every inspection Go Renter would charge them some additional type of pet fee but send us the inspection report that the property was well maintained even with the dogs). Our tenants were un-happy, we were unhappy with their services. If we were not selling the home our tenants had informed us they would not sign another lease with Go Renter (we would of lost our tenants because of their horrible management). read more

After dealing with Go renter, I feel that I have been Scammed! I should have read the reviews here before signing their contract. We hired them to find tenants for our property in November 2011. After no showings of the property, no lock-box installed, no picking up of a key to even show the property, we decided to cancel In January 2012. After we canceled they hit us with over a 1000.00 in fees. They didn't even step foot on the property. They performed no work, but yet still billed us for "management" fees, "admin" fee, "Marketing" fees and cancelation fees. They have in their contract an automatic re-up clause that does not require acknowledgment or signature to take affect. You have to opted out in December before the 20th by certified mail or e-mail or the will stick it to you like they did us if you missed the date. After missing the opted out date in December 2011. We canceled In January 2012 and they billed us for 2012 annual admin fee of 295.00 and 600.00 marketing fee. Even though I never got a single showing for my property, and of course, they never collected rent or managed my property. What their contract should say is this: If you sign this paper, even if we don't do crap, you are going to pay us about 800.00 to 1000.00. For "Advertising" your property. Thank you sucker. I live with this company currently, finding out now, that it was a HUGE mistake. The house is awesome, old but perfect, problem is the ghetto apartments that are behind the house. I have sent in multiple police reports, had multiple neighbors complain, and even had someone stand in my driveway, threatening me, because I asked them not to be hanging outside my 2 year old daughter's bedroom window. This comes down to the company not wanting to evict someone who is on government subsidies over the safety of their renters. Paid for professional carpet cleaner and was still charged $225, even though I provided a copy of the receipt and also showed it to Mark who said he didnt need original. Got charged for a broken screen which was already broken at patio door. The patio door was broken with one of the double panes broken at move in. We begged them to fix and they refused. This company is a RIP off. Total move in costs, not including utilities was $2400. I spent more cleaning than they gave back. Lesson learned. GoRenter is not giving your deposit back even if you clean it perfectly. Just leave it for them. The move in costs are inflated amounts and most are nonrefundable cleaning fees etc. I guess they forgot they charged those up front. I have pics and proof of all and will not let this go. Oh my gosh - Always H. I had the same exact experience you did. This is the worst company ever. They have a lot of reviews on the better business bureau and they are ranked D- (yes, that's very bad). That guy Greg Dawson smooth talks you and you think its going to be all better, but you end up getting screwed. You're almost at the end of your contract, and if you don't feel like you will be hurt by them over the next couple of months, wait until November / Dec and send in your NOTICE TO TERMINATE. If I could give them a zero star rating I would. They are the most shady rental company out there. They don't care if the home you are renting doesn't have a working stove, oven, or dishwasher. They will make you clean the property when you move out. They will not clean when you move in. Donny the property manager is the most useless piece of something for a property manager. They will renew your lease and then make up some excuse and rent it under the carpet to someone else. Then they will leave the notice on your door and send you an email stating that your lease is not being renewed. They will give you no explanation or warning and it doesn't matter to them if you pay the rent on time, utilities on time, etc. They don't care about the tenant or keeping them happy. You are nothing but a piece of dirt to them and when they are done with you, they will give you 2 weeks notice to move on. The most unethical rental place around. Don't make the same mistake I did. Yeah, these guys SUCK. I rented a beautiful, former model house in Gilbert and everything seemed to go smoothly with the application process UNTIL I signed the lease. After that I had so much trouble getting these people to just give me keys (never even got a pool key from them!) and they never got me a garage door opener despite repeated requests. Then when I told them that the lady who lived right next to me could open and close my garage door with HER garage door opener, they didn't respond to my concern. Not surprisingly, a couple of weeks later the lady next door went to open (or close, I'm not sure) her garage and as a result MY own garage door came down on top of my car as I was backing into my garage! It crushed itself to death trying to close on top of MY car! So I called GoRenter (yet again) and left (yet another) voicemail for my non-responsive rep explaining that my garage door was toast and it took her a full week to call me back! Heck I got a warning letter from the HOA about the crumpled garage door, and the owner of the house knew what had happened even before the idiot rep at GoRenter even bothered to returned my call. Grrrr... As it turns out the damn garage door was set to the same frequency as the lady's next door and that was why she could open and close my door with her remote control AND when it was installed the safety was not properly set to bounce back as soon as it encountered an obstruction while closing. This is why it mashed itself into a crumpled heap on top of my car hood. (Thank GOD my three year old son wasn't what the garage door accidentally came down on top of!) Anyway, this was just one of my issues with them. They also advertised my house as having a washer and dryer (Uh, no it didn't) and as having a walk in pantry, not even close, it was a kitchen cabinet, with a door. (Not a pantry, by even the *most* active of imaginations.) They also managed to screw me into a bogus late fee because of some bizarre website/weekend payment processing glitch, and that really pissed me off, since I am not the kind of person to be late paying any bill, ever. Then when I went to move out they tried to screw me over to the tune of several hundred dollars in strange fees, and by then I was actively talking to the owner about my plight with GoRenter and SHE was done with their crap (I wasn't the only one having problems) and she fired them for all of her managed houses. I left that house in better shape than when I moved in (even hiring a professional maid to clean it top to bottom) and leaving behind the 2 garage door openers that I bought out of own pocket (about $50) after they refused to give me one, yet they still somehow found a way to claim that I somehow damaged the house and kept some of my deposit. ABSURD! Ugh, what a nightmare... ETA: I'm not interested in having someone who claims to be an owner of GoRenter log in behind my review and make all these ridiculous claims that attempt deflect GoRenter's liability for any of these issues by attempting to blame it on me or the owner. We signed up with Gorenter to find tenants and manage our property. What a mistake. They were terrible communicators, did not find us a tenant, they GAVE OUT OUR LOCKBOX COMBINATION OVER THE PHONE to anyone willing to send them a "scan" of a driver's license, and were generally useless. We foolishly did not check out their BBB ratings which are very negative, with 57 complaints lodged against them and a grade of C-. We had to pay a $750 "termination fee" just to get out of the useless contract. I would advise anyone to run, not walk, away from this company and find someone more reputable. read more

Then You pay by card you are charged a ridiculous percentage. Fees for everything. Jan 1st was a holiday and I was not around a computer all day (my info is saved on my laptop so that's the only way I access the online portal) and paid Jan 2nd- was charged a $90 fee (for a day late-never heard of). Love my house hate how this how property management seems like a big scam artist and every month I go to pay i get angry. Can not wait until my lease is up. Coming from California, where state tenant laws are renter-friendly and always in best interest of the tenant, I assumed that Go-Renter would practice the same kind of ethics. I was wrong. We rented a property for just under two years with GoRenter, were prompt and timely with rent payments, and were respectful tenants. Not only was our entire deposit taken, but we were charged an additional $400.00 in fees due to "damages" and "repairs" that were due to the previous tenant's negligence. In addition, their "invoices" for repairs and maintenance done at move out are not itemized, and merely summarize an arbitrary amount. Thankfully we own now, but if any of my friends needed to rent, I would rather put them up myself than send them GoRenter's way. You guys should be ashamed. read more

But if you unfortunately decide to do business with this company I HIGHLY recommend bringing the shady lease to an attorney for review prior to signing it so that you may have everything explained and pointed out. It will be worth it in the end to spend $150-$250 to have the lease reviewed. Even though Arizona is not the most tenant friendly, this company takes it to the next level of scum! In Arizona the landlord cannot make you responsible for the lawn or maintain property grounds unless you are compensated. GoRenters lease has a paragraph making you responsible for the lawn & landscaping, etc. They also put in their lease that if any portion goes to collections they will automatically increase what you owe them by 40% + $100!! In Arizona you have a right to a trial by jury in a tenant/landlord dispute, which would be in the tenants best interest, in GoRenters lease they have a paragraph so that you relinquish your rights to a trial by jury (things that make you go Hmmm...). Any little right/chance you might have as a tenant in Arizona, this lease takes from you. I rented the home sight unseen, moving in from out-of-state. My cleaning fee was "waved" on the lease (definition of waved - a voluntary relinquishing of a right or privilege.) GoRenter "waved" my cleaning fees, then decided to charge me for cleaning! (SMH) I had signed the lease without seeing the home, upon receiving the key & going to the home to find filth, I immediately called & emailed GoRenter & the landlord. The house was filthy! I was told they would do nothing about it, they were not responsible. I emailed pictures of the ceiling fan, ceiling vent, & picture window with such dirt build-up, asking for it to be cleaned & that I was unable to reach those areas (the ceilings were at least 30' high). Both the landlord & GoRenter refused service. GoRenter informed me that I needed to return the home in the same condition that I received it in with "reasonable wear and tear". I did not clean the build up of grime and dirt on the items I could not reach. Upon move-out I was charged $280 for cleaning, & the photos they produced of what was not cleaned... the same items I had sent them photos of that were not cleaned prior to my arrival. None of the windows had screens, therefore opening the windows was not an option & the patio sliding screen door would not stay on the track. Both the landlord & GoRenter informed me that my lease was "as-is" and the items would not be fixed. None of the carpets had been clean, the amount of dirt that came up was enough to make anyone nauseous! GoRenter requires the carpets be professionally cleaned upon lease termination, but would not provide clean carpets for my family and I. All of the negative reviews are true! They are rude, unhelpful, and take forever to follow up. They give themselves 2-3 business days to get back to you (other than maintenance department). GoRenter has attempted to charge me for weeds they had pulled in the front of the home. The before and after pictures are a joke! While I was out of town weeds grew, the HOA sent a letter that the weeds needed attention, I took care of the problem upon my return home. GoRenter sends someone out to clean up without informing/communicating with me, after I had tended to the weeds, but still charging me $200+!?!?! I could go on and on! I would rate this place as a "ZERO" but not sure if its available. So, I reluctantly rate as a 1 star. From the begining things began to go wrong. The refrigerator was missing when I moved in. They turned off my cable mid-term. I had to treaten breach before they agreed to take action to resolve. Lastly, when i moved out they refused to pay me back my deposit even though i left the house in better condition than recieved. needless to say, this isn't over. Gorenter is a huge ripoff! if your thinking of using this property management company do your self a favor and Google Gorenter lawsuits. I hire Gorenter to manage two of my town homes in Phoenix I was getting no showings and after several attempts to reach my sales agent I had to advise him to lower there suggest monthly rent so we could rent the properties. Two and half months into signing the rental contract I got a call from a potential renter who informed me that she could get ahold of anyone from Gorenter she found me on her own. I sent Gorenter an email that my new tenant put together explaining her inability to get ahold of anybody from Gorenter. I decided to write off the $400 deposit but was floored when I received an additional $1680 invoice from Gorenter. This company hooks people by offering low management fee . I have had horrible service and unexpected fees at every turn from Go Renter They stated they would take the necessary precautions to get a quality renter in my home which they failed to do the renter got the first months rent free and when the second month arose they could not pay... so how did you do a credit background and rental history check and find these people suitable to occupy my home. Go renter has charged the renters upwards of $8200 in fees and I have only received $4700 out of 9 months rent that is supposed to be $895 a month. Now the tenant is two months behind and I am forced to spend $1000 in legal fees to remove them so I am at a $3000 loss right there and they want to charge me $800 on top of that to cancel my management agreement. I don't understand how this is legal they are no longer providing me a service nor have they invested a penny into my property I pay all the fee's if the tenant does not pay and I'm already at a loss. How are they entitled to $800 for getting me a bad quality renter that I have to evict and me wanting to ditch them and move back into my home? If Go Renter was a quality establishment they will acknowledge their failure to provide me with a quality service and waive these fees. Horribly dishonest. They are in the business of trying to steal deposits. I say 'trying' because I will be taking them to court for illegally withholding my deposit, and I will win. I paid professional cleaning ladies, carpet cleaners and had the landscape maintained on the day of move-out. It cost me about $350.00 on that day, but I wanted to make sure I would get my deposit back. The house was in better shape than the day we moved in. When we moved in a 13 months ago, the shower had hard water stains, there was mold growing in the carpet in the Master Bedroom, there was an underground irrigation water leak that had never been fixed, the pool was green and half empty and the front door would not remain shut unless it was locked. Among several other issues, there were quite a few problems, but we figured they seemed like a reputable business and since we were going to be paying almost $2500 per month, surely the service would be good. They did fix the pool, but the other things never were taken care of, with exception the mold was finally removed this April (11 months into our lease). 18 days after move out, I received a bill from Gorenter, LLC saying that I need to pay to have the whole house re-carpeted ($3,287.73) and the whole house cleaned ($250.00). They sent me pictures of the carpet ripped up and folded over, showing me stains on the underside of the carpet. Which were most likely there before we moved in. Either way, they did not send pictures of the top of the carpet because there was no issue. Like I said, they are dishonest and trying to not only steal my security deposit, but want an additional $1775. read more

Do NOT rent from GoRenter unless you want an absolute headache 24/7. We rented a 4 bedroom house that was beautiful - but had a plumbing issue deeper than the eye could see. Upstairs toilet was leaking into the floor and into the main floor ceiling - eventually leading to mold. The company was notified and after THREE WEEKS of nothing being done (us emailing/calling every 2 days to see if there was an update) GoRenter just continued to ignore us and never communicated back. It came down to us serving them legally a 5 day health and safety notice to have the matter fixed and on the 5th day they conveniently sent someone out to "look at it and try to give an estimate". Since this did not comply with the matter being FIXED by the 5th day we terminated our lease. To think we were done with them - now trying to get our security deposit back they are charging us with every little thing they can think of (items they said we broke- but were listed on our move in check list as broken prior to move in). This place is beyond unprofessional and nothing but hell to work with. I urge you to rent from another company that actually cares about their tenants. read more
