I have a black car and it has quite a bit swirls on it thanks to the automatic carwashes. I finally decided to get it corrected and came in for an estimate this past Friday. I met Justin and he was super nice and friendly and explained everything from the process to pricing and how to take care of the car in the future. It was a very pleasant experience. Got a new 16 yr old in the house and of course we've been looking at vehicles for months. I have a '06 Suburban we use around our business for odds and end jobs and it was my primary vehicle when my boys were a babies. Mid way through this restoration I started a search for the final "touch" that can really put the cherry on top and care for the money I've spent on this restoration. We own a funeral home & crematory, families can invest from $2k-$15k to memorialize their love one, we understand it's expensive and they deserve the very best details to go along with that investment. My eye is definitely in the details!!!! I came across Gorilla Shines website-read the reviews, noticed the awards and recognized a new second location opened; something must being going right. I took the next step and visited their original location on Winchester Rd and met the manager and owner and was impressed with their car care knowledge and passion. Appointment made! Man-ol-man, my boys at Gorilla did not disappoint! ....and yes, I said my boys, I'm on that level now. They took care of my 14 yr old baby like it was their own. From treating the new paint with the proper product to allow it to breath and cure at the same time to engine cleaning to removing spilt milk and pop stains. Recently purchased a 2015 JCW Mini Roadster which had been owned in Kansas where the bugs must be huge. While it was very low mileage and in excellent condition, the paint had a few smears and scratches from bugs and just use. After Ryan at the Winchester Road location, evaluated the car and provided the cost for paint correction and the 3 different ceramic treatment levels they use, I was sent home with a brochure about the ceramic product. I always check out reviews from customers, BBB reports and the like before selecting a company. I also reviewed the products used and did a price comparison between other companies in the area as well as cost in general. The reviews were excellent as were the reviews on the ceramic product they utilize. While the cost was a bit more than a competitor, no one had better customer satisfaction reports. While costly to get the highest level of ceramic protection, the cost was still lower than other places in the US. I have learned by this point that the "cheapest" is frequently not nearly as good. I picked the Roadster up yesterday from the Southland drive location that handles paint correction, after they had it for 3 days. It looks absolutely wonderful. Chris, the owner had also cleaned the leather seats at no charge. The transaction was handled professionally from start to finish. All the employees were welcoming, but Chris and Ryan, who I dealt with are highly recommended. Tried to take photos yesterday. The problem is that the car is so shiny that it reflects like a mirror so no matter the angle I seemed to get the image across from it in the photo. Finally near dusk I was able to get a view that showed just how good the car looks. When you touch the car it is mirror smooth. The slightly gritty feeling that was present before caused by contamination to the paint is completely gone. Even the one massive Kansas bug kamikaze smear no longer shows up! At both locations there were a number of other cars being worked on and several were obviously the high end collectible type whose owners keep them in top shape. It was fun to see the cars, as well as the normal daily drivers in the detail process. Because the bugs in Ky may rival their Ks. brothers, I have also scheduled my daily driver to have a ceramic application next week. Not only will this help preserve the value of the car, it will make getting the blasted bugs off easier in the future! I admit to having attempted to improve the paint with a clay bar treatment at home, but I do not have the tools necessary to do a paint correction. Just as I wouldn't try to fix a mechanical issue under the hood, I learned that I lacked the skill set and equipment to handle paint correction. Some things are better left to the professionals and my choice in the Lexington area is without question Gorilla Shine. I am in no way affiliated with the company or any of the employees. Excellent service! I am so impressed. Scheduled an appointment about a week in advance. Dropped my car off for the "big banana" which is a full interior and exterior clean with caranuba wax. This takes most of the day so I had to uber back home. They power washed all my plastic mats, shampooed the carpets and my seats, got all the nasty out of every nook and cranny. It's like a brand new car!!!! They sent me a 30 min heads up so I could come back and get my car. We did a walk through for any missed spots (absolutely none). Phenomenal job! Will take my car there again. My car hadn't been cleaned in about 6 months. The last time I got it cleaned at a different cleaner, they had left scratches on it. I took my car in this week for the "big banana" which is interior and exterior detailing. I don't think my car has looked this good since I bought it. I can't quite recall the name of the person who took care of my car (sorry!) but he was super helpful. He explained the process, made sure to note that part of my car had new paint and let me know they would be using a different wax on it. Dropped off a brand new Tesla Model Y for paint restoration (detailing) and nano-coating application. They were professional, friendly, took great care of my car, but last but not least the end product was beautiful. The car looks like a liquid metal shine. You can see yourself like in a mirror. I usually buy a fairly old car every few years, and taking it to Gorilla Shine makes it seem like new, at least to me. Nothing's changed - they still do an excellent job for a reasonable price. They're very detailed, and kept in-touch with text messages for small stuff they found while doing the work, just to see if I wanted to keep or remove it (keeping a custom window decal I put on, and removing an out-of-state registration sticker from a previous title). You will not find better detailing for your vehicle anywhere period. The regular detail services are amazing however unlike any othe car wash Chris can personalize your services to ensure your vehicle is like new again. If you have plastic on your vehicle make sure you ask about the black treatments, they made my 07 Avalanche plastic look like new, GM wanted 1600, Gorilla did it for 75! After taking my truck there for the last few years at first I realize now that it's an investment to keep the vehicle looking like new. Chris I'm ashamed that you would go as far as to lie to your customers. People just so you know you could go almost anywhere else to get a detail and only pay for the most 250 or less and get a better job done by experienced detailers plus chris at gorilla shine has a habit of using cheap Walmart detailing supplies that don't do as good of a job and tells his employees to lie to customers the headlight restoration is a scam cause all they do is sand down the headlights and buff them in a month or less they will be cloudy again. He makes close to a 90 percent profit off his customers cause of the crazy prices and cheap materials he uses don't do business with this scammer no one should have to pay that much for a detail when all they are getting is a car wash. Plus his employees are not professional detailers and have in the past damaged cars cause they had no experience in detailing. read more
