I used to trust 1st Stop Auto Care Centers, but my recent visit confirmed that this shop is no longer what it used to be. I came in to have both my headlights replaced. Despite my clear request, only the passenger-side bulb was replaced using a simple wheel well access method, and they refused to replace the driver-side bulb. Now, I'll likely need another visit soon for something that could have been handled this time. On top of that, I was charged $152.42 for what they claimed was an hour of diagnostic testing to determine the fuse was blown--a task that shouldn't take a skilled mechanic anywhere near that long. The excessive time and charges make me question their integrity. The service experience was equally poor. Jason, a mechanic, was short and discourteous, and no one acknowledged me when I walked in--even though I was standing right in front of them. This isn't the first time I've encountered rude or unprofessional behavior from their staff. While they did replace my third brake light (which I didn't mention) free of charge, it doesn't outweigh the feeling of being overcharged and dismissed. This is not the first disappointing experience I've had here. In the past, they've misdiagnosed my car multiple times, leaving me to pay for repairs that didn't fix the problem. Another mechanic fixed the issue correctly for far less. Unless you're here for a basic oil change, I recommend taking your car elsewhere. After years of loyalty, I've learned the hard way that this shop no longer values its customers or provides the quality service it once did. read more

I bought my tires at Goodyear and recently found a nail in my tire causing a leak. I went to Goodyear first thing in the morning and after sitting in their waiting room for half an hour, they told me they would not repair my tire. I went to 1st Auto and they had the mechanic, Travis look at it to see if it was repairable. He confirmed that it was safe to repair. Not only did he repair my tire, he mounted it back on, and put the spare back in the trunk and I was out of there and back on my way in less than 30 minutes. I can't tell you have many hours I have wasted sitting in the waiting room of Goodyear for maintenance and repair over the last few years. I am finished wasting my time doing business with that place. I highly recommend 1st Auto. Also the repair was under $15, very reasonably priced. read more

I heard of this business from 4 satisfied customers, each who said that they would deal only with First Stop. My foreign car needed attention, and on the first visit, Ed Hacker and crew offered a warm knowledgeable welcome, listened to my needs, made suggestions, and provided me with a clear written proposal (not a changeable estimate). Only the best quality parts were proposed, and clear labor costs listed. On verbal agreement, parts were ordered, I was called, the appointment time was made to suit me, and transport provided from and to the shop. The work was completed ahead of time, and after a test ride and physical inspection, I found all was done perfectly !! I agree with those other clients...my car will never go elsewhere !!! Update: Since this business first refused to honor their warranty and replace the battery, a new battery was purchased at Autozone. At that time Autozone tested their battery as bad and took it as a core on the new battery. First stop is now refusing to offer any refund because they do not have their old battery, which is their own fault. They were given the chance to take their old battery and replace it with a new one a week ago, however they refused. So them not having their old battery now is their own fault, not the fault of anyone else. Still the business has not honored their warranty and refused to issue the elderly gentleman any refund. read more

You would expect a different approach here than at a Ford repair facility but this isn't the case. I believe their service writer came from a used car lot. Not at all professional. His tone is condescending and he has little to no actual mechanical knowledge. When pressed, he can't answer even reasonably technical questions. This isn't a luxury brand facility. They told me that they can repair my sunroof. I also asked them to check the transmission fluid level since they had done the recent service on it and asked them to scan my car for any codes. They kept my Porsche for 3 weeks. They didn't fix my car's sunroof. They failed to check the transmission fluid level. They didn't scan for any codes. They chipped my driver's side rear door edge. And, they broke my sunglasses compartment. I should have listened to my PCA members. Lesson learned. The only positive is that they didn't charge me. NOT recommended...

He kept putting me off, saying he was 2 weeks behind. Finally he agreed to let me bring it on May 1, 2023. I called that morning and he wasn't in until 9 am. He called me back & said he was running behind could I wait till Wednesday & bring it. I did. Never heard a work so 5/19/23 I called to get status. His 'story' was he couldn't get parts, they were on backorder. Only parts needed were Power steering pump lines that were rotted and leaking and a transmission seal. I told him there are Internet websites where you can order parts. He says "yeah I know but they're on back order" (??). He was lying to me. I can tell when somebody is not being honest with me. So I had to go June 5th to get registration from glove box so I could send in the tax & license renewal. He still hadn't touched it. The glove box was messed up, not opening/closing right and covered in greasy hand/finger prints. I told him we really needed the car as both of us were sick and had so many appointments. He said the parts may be there on Wednesday. Surprisingly, he called me on Tues and said we could pick up the car. I went over the several things he had said was wrong and he said he had fixed all them. I picked the car up & he only charged $120. I asked him about the Glove Box not working right,, to which he replied " I don't know anything about the glove box, I was under the hood. The receipt he printed out said "repair transmission seal"...that's all. Got home and daughter noticed some serious scratches on the hood that was not there when we took it in. The entire time I worked with him on this car -over a month- he was rude, had an attitude and treated me like trash. It's like my money wasn't as good as somebody elses. I will never use him again and will tell everybody I know about his shoddy work and pissy attitude. He needs to hire somebody with a personality to manage his business and he needs to keep his head under somebody else's hood.
