Not helpful at all. Rude. Chastized me for taking pain meds. Worst doctor experience I've ever had.

First went in around October 2023 Overall while you are there, they are very friendly. My doctor,…read morewhile nice, did not talk much. Explained the bare minimum. If you suspect something, research questions to ask. Communication at the time was sporadic. I never actually got any member of my doctors team. While I always called the option for my doctor, there were times I needed answers quicker. Called the new appointment option. I was on ADT, getting shots every six months. When I was able to travel again, I travelled. Shortly after I started, I developed more health issues. Of course looking it up, I found they could be side effects of the ADT. So calling to cancel the appointment I couldn't make anyway? The person who answered was okay until I mentioned I wanted to talk to the doctor about my health issues and possibly skipping my next shot. She went ballistic. " the doctor is not going to let you do that..........." Yes, when she settled down I reminded her I was in Idaho, so it didn't matter anway, I wasn't coming in. She settled down a little, said the doctor was gone for another week or so, she would pass the message on and I would get a call. Never got that call, but about six months later I got a reminder call for my next appointment. I may have made that next appointment before I left, but it also wouldn't have been the first time they made an appointment without me knowing. Fair enough, except I was in Florida for the winter. I don't remember how many times I called, I'm sure I left more than one. ( I get one call for the reminder to get bloodwork done, then a call 1 or 2 days before the appointment. I finally ended up calling after duty hours so I could pass the message onto their answering service. Of course the next day I get the message; "I understand you're in Florida, please give us a call if you need to cancel!!! Of course I was finally able to get a hold of someone. I said I've been leaving messages to do just that, obviously either the after hours call person didn't give you all the message, I'm in Florida, as you know. Even if i wanted to go, I'd never make it, and there is no blood tests done anyway. She finally got it and nisely said to call whenever you get back in the area. I'm back, but going back down to El Paso where I got my radiation therapy(west side, shout out to Bethany! one of the best doctors I ever had. ( dr Mendels assistant) Again, if you're in the area? You get treated okay. Rio Grande west side El Paso if you need radiation. Not sure on the urolgists.

4-1/2 Stars Only because of one person who answers the phone that I think really should be fired…read moreThis is for the cancer side. I was referred to Dr Mendel. Very profession. Went over the treatment plan. While he sees you once a week during treatment, don't get me wrong. He quickly runs through like an assembly line. May sound bad, but, if you need the time and have questions. He stays and answers. He doesn't mind at all. During treatment I was also referred to Bethany, she is fantastic. Sits you down, goes through everything, scans, biopsy results, types of additional hormone therapy. She is the reason I returned this year for the follow up. My only problem is communication. I called after calling the Las Cruces location to cancel that appointment. I ended up just leaving a message, my information phone number. need to cancel. The one time I really needed it? I was in Wyoming, fantastic campsite 1-1/2 hours away from cell reception. Got my reminder on fourth of July weekend for the appointment reminder. So, I ended up calling both west/east side, options for existing and new patients. Same message, name, birthdate, phone number and I need to cancel. When I finally got someone to answer? Well, I calmly tried to explain. Goes like this: this is... I've been trying to call, left 4 messages(got cut off with a hostile "I didn't get any message on this machine.............) I let her rant, then said I needed to cancel, out of sate, I just had the bloodwork done so it probably wouldn't be back in time in time to keep the appointment and just make it telephonic. She gave me a date. Since it's 1-1/2 hours away down a road I got three flats on. I went 2+ hour ahead of time. Sat for hours waiting. 30 - 45 minutes I call them, they say I didn't have an appointment. Seriously think she did it on purpose. Wile I let her rant about the 4 messages. I didn't tell her it was under 4 different options. with messages left. In all reality it was 5 if you include the first time about a month earlier when I cancelled the Appointment at the Las Cruces location. Once again though? Most of the time it is easy to get a hold of someone. I have bad luck at times for the important calls.

If my kidneys weren't killing me I wouldn't be here. Most everyone is OK. Except they ask the same…read morequestions that would have been covered by the info my doctor sent. I don't know how many times I had to tell them I don't smoke or drink. At what point are you all just not paying attention or do you want me to lie? I shouldn't have to tell you all I don't drink or smoke 10+ times. Read the notes you all are supposedly writing down. I'm serious about fixing my health. I don't have money for more organs. So either you're not that serious or you're just playing games. Ironic thing is that they asked me about caffeine and how much I consume in a day. I lied to them and they haven't asked about it since. Also Dr. Christopher Olivares CAN'T STAY ON TOPIC. I came to you all to fix my kidneys! Not some random fertility thing! Dr. Christopher Olivares is turbo weird. Saying random things like "are we going to have problem?" when nothing happened. I'm not the one that hired a guy to move the patients seat and hide behind it in a black suit. You all did. And asking if I could hear outside the room after I moved away from the door, and wall, were people were constantly talking on the other side and they were louder than the nurse in the room asking me questions. At which she was weird too. She would just sit there and say nothing so I'd stare at the floor. Or when he asked if my main doctor was a endocrinologist he said "Cool!" about 10x times. Like...what? You're not an endocrinologist either so what does it matter? It's not even your field. And fu for mocking things I said back to me. When I went home they wouldn't approve the imaging center I lived near. So now I have to drive 2 ish hours to get something done that I could have done in my home town. They put it down as Stat and all the imaging centers seem to either not care or put it 3+ days out. Stop yelling. Just because one nurse who wants to speak with a thick accent while whispering in a loud waiting room doesn't mean I can't hear you in a regular room. She also had a habit of ignoring questions then going back what she said. Like she asked about some kind of shot and I asked her if I get the shot would I have to take the antibiotics the doctor sent to my pharmacy (that delayed them for some reason). I even showed her their app and where it said it was delayed. She then ignored it and asked if I was on antibiotics. She knowingly asked this again for the 10th+ time after explaining I had run out, didn't get a refill, showed her the app, and was asking about the shot. She rarely answered any questions and kept ignoring everything other thing I said. Also it took me a while to remember, but no my "son" didn't call. You all called me about the appointment and I said my Dad was hard of hearing since he was driving me there. You all are the weirdest and worst group I've ever experienced. If you didn't help so many people in the area I would have wished this place was closed down. There wasn't any reason for any of your bs. Also your patient portal is complete crap. It keeps crashing and refusing to let me download my medical information.

The doctor we got was very good, and nowadays getting to see an actual doctor is rare. I wish they had a digital process for gathering demographics and medical history to make the process more secure and efficient. However, the visit with the doctor made us feel reassured that we were in good hands.

The office: Might as well have those check in machines, they have at the labs and eye doctor…read moreoffices now, for those of us that know how to use them and are not a new patient. The receptionists are very busy and are not allowed to discuss much. "I have to ask the supervisor " ect. Makes them seem unfriendly, but that is a management decision. This could be said for the demands put on the doctors too. You can tell the owners put pressure on doctors to see so many patients an hour.I'm already a patient, arrived on time, checked in and only waited 8 minutes To get in the back. Everything was fast after that, I really like Dr. Edinburgh. She is so knowledgeable and does care about me. Even when we were saying goodbye, she did stop at the door, to answer 3 questions I had thought of before leaving. I need another study, but will take 2 months before they can schedule me. Perhaps they need to stop taking new patients until they have time to breathe. There will always be patients when the time comes. Now last review: The office is packed and needs a day time cleaning person on staff. The nurse assistants even have to mop floors in the back bathrooms where samples are taken. They should be able to call for help before they are needed. Anywhere where old people are there will be mishaps. Well, I hope I addressed everything . This is my experience.

This guy is clearly a legend in his own mind. He did surgery on my wife to replace a bladder…read moreinterstim. He botched the surgery, leaving a piece of the old unit in her and never told her. The new unit was MRI compatible and she had a couple MRIs for other reasons following the surgery that Farnam failed to do properly. The metal left in her could have caused serious issues but luckily they didn't. As a result of the radiologist sharing the fact that she had a piece of metal in her, she checked her progress notes from Farnam and there was nothing in the notes about the piece left in her. In addition, at every appointment she has had, there has been at least a 1 hour wait time, sometimes longer. This guy boasts about all of his expertise, but clearly doesn't care about the individual patient. My wife has transferred to a urologist in Tucson and won't be back to see Farnam.

Eventually after I got married, my husband and I began trying to have children. After a year went by we saw a fertility doctor in Houston who diagnosed me with stage 2 endometriosis. This doctor said my only options were iui or ivf. I was devastated. So I did some research and found Dr. Farnam in El Passo. My husband and I flew out from Houston for my consultation appointment and Dr. Farnam was confident that he could remove all of my endometriosis which would allow me to conceive a child. So, we scheduled the surgery and two months later we packed up our truck and 3 dogs and made the 12 hour drive across Texas. We rented an air bnb for a week and it was perfect. My surgery went amazingly well. And turns out I was originally misdiagnosed and actually had stage 4 endometriosis! Dr. Farnam removed all of the disease along with my appendix. A little over a month after my surgery and I was pregnant!!! I am 15 weeks along now and couldn't be more thankful. G-d truly preformed a miracle by guiding me to find Doctor Richard Farnam. Thank you Dr. Farnam for all you and your staff have done for me and my family. You will always have my deepest gratitude.
