If you suspect something, research questions to ask. Communication at the time was sporadic. I never actually got any member of my doctors team. While I always called the option for my doctor, there were times I needed answers quicker. Called the new appointment option. I was on ADT, getting shots every six months. When I was able to travel again, I travelled. Shortly after I started, I developed more health issues. Of course looking it up, I found they could be side effects of the ADT. So calling to cancel the appointment I couldn't make anyway? The person who answered was okay until I mentioned I wanted to talk to the doctor about my health issues and possibly skipping my next shot. She went ballistic. " the doctor is not going to let you do that..........." Yes, when she settled down I reminded her I was in Idaho, so it didn't matter anway, I wasn't coming in. She settled down a little, said the doctor was gone for another week or so, she would pass the message on and I would get a call. Never got that call, but about six months later I got a reminder call for my next appointment. I may have made that next appointment before I left, but it also wouldn't have been the first time they made an appointment without me knowing. Fair enough, except I was in Florida for the winter. I don't remember how many times I called, I'm sure I left more than one. ( I get one call for the reminder to get bloodwork done, then a call 1 or 2 days before the appointment. I finally ended up calling after duty hours so I could pass the message onto their answering service. Of course the next day I get the message; "I understand you're in Florida, please give us a call if you need to cancel!!! Of course I was finally able to get a hold of someone. I said I've been leaving messages to do just that, obviously either the after hours call person didn't give you all the message, I'm in Florida, as you know. Even if i wanted to go, I'd never make it, and there is no blood tests done anyway. She finally got it and nisely said to call whenever you get back in the area. I'm back, but going back down to El Paso where I got my radiation therapy(west side, shout out to Bethany! one of the best doctors I ever had. ( dr Mendels assistant) Again, if you're in the area? You get treated okay. Rio Grande west side El Paso if you need radiation. Not sure on the urolgists.

I went to Memorial Medical Center Emergency Room on May 29th due to complications with my diabetes…read moreand insulin pump. I was seen by a Doctor Ponce de Leon. She asked me why I had come to the Emergency room. I explained the problem with my glucose level and the number of insulin pumps that I had gone through in 24 hours. The Doctor said she would be back. When the Doctor returned, she told me that there was nobody in the Emergency room who dealt with diabetes or insulin pumps. I asked what about the rest of the hospital, I was told that they have all gone home for the weekend. She said she was going to arrange for me to be discharged. I was upset, so I placed a call to the hospital administration, and was told that they would look into it. Shortly after the call, a Nurse Practitioner came to see me. She checked out my Insulin pump controller and went to make a phone call to my Diabetes Doctor, who's office was closed for the weekend. She eventually spoke to a Diabetes Doctor she knew. The Nurse Practitioner returned, telling me that my insulin pump was malfunctioning. I was told about the diet I should eat over the weekend, until I could get in contact with my Diabetes Doctor on Monday. I was eventually discharged from the hospital, without any help for the large swings in my glucose levels and no means to administer insulin. I should have been admitted over the weekend to get my glucose levels under control. Basically, the Emergency Room Dr. Ponce de Leon and the Nurse Practitioner left me in a very dangerous situation.

Care is a big factor in recovery. Everyone there is concerned and takes part in your recovery. The receptionist Bobby Jo is professional, and compassionate. Sandra treats you with dignity and can help you with any questions and concerns. Lupe and Jackie are kind, and they listen to you, they take your pain levels seriously, and go out of their way to research different treatments and implement all sources available for you. The Doctors are very attentive and evaluate and treat you, so you can recover fully. I found Hope in my ability to recover thanks to these people.

Budesonide is a inhalation suspension that is not covered by Part D, but is covered by Medicare Part B. My pharmacy (Albertsons in Ruidoso, NM) has sent paperwork to be filled out and approved by Dr. Byrd 4 to 5 times in the past 2 weeks. My pharmacy even called 1/29 to speak to the office directly. After calling the office 8 times myself and being told all sorts of things ie. We have not received the paperwork, the paperwork has been filled out and will be sent that particular day, to starting from square one. This medication is a inhalant steroid to help with my breathing as I have a constricted airway. I haven't been able to do this treatment for 2 weeks now, and I am having trouble breathing. What the heck is going on with this office?
