I'm a female driver who has been going to Auto Glass Solutions for nearly 10 years. They used to be located on 103 & Commercial, but they have relocated to 89th & Commercial. My first experience with them was around 2002 when I had a new Honda Accord. A biker shattered my driver side mirror. It was a new car and Honda wanted to charge me "an-arm-and-a-leg". I can't quite remember how much I paid at AGS, but I remember them beating the dealership by a mile. I've been going to them ever since. I also recommend AGS to other people. I suggest calling them first to find out if they have the glass you need in stock. If they don't, they will usually get it by the end of the day. Funny thing, I found out about them long before my son was driving. Now that he is , this will be the second time he's taken one of his car to get the window fixed. I returned here for a rear window replacement after having my front windshield replaced here. The…read morewait was 2 hours understandably since it is more of an extensive repair. I pointed out that the glass had fallen down into the panel. I was told this would be vacuumed out as part of the service. Before I left I opened my trunk and heard that plenty of glass was still rattling within it. When I asked again about it being cleaned out, I was told I would need to come back the following day and the wait would be 2 hours again. I returned the following day and waited 2 additional hours for it to be re-cleaned, which is very unfortunate because I specifically asked for this to be done and it should have the first time. I paid $350 and spent 4 hours of time on this job. The two other shops quoted me $315 (this was further away, near Midway, so I chose Halsted over them) and the other place in Alsip was $375. Though this price was reasonable, there were others charging similar rates and the service here was not worth the cost and time combined. There is still glass in the panel but it is not as noisy as it was when I left on the first day. Also, though the glass was supposed to be new that I purchased, it looks different than the original. Just some things to ask about in advance if you use this shop for your glass replacement.
