Since my mother's cancer diagnosis in June 2023, I've been struggling with anxiety and depression. In November 2025, after a stressful visit to the eye clinic (where I had to wait to put in my contact lenses), I was flustered and trying to navigate a confusing parking garage. In a moment of total frustration, I accidentally backed into a brick wall, severely damaging my car's rear end and tail light. Already emotionally and financially strained--in the middle of relocating from Chicago and waiting for relocation assistance--I was devastated. Other body shops quoted me around $7,000, which felt impossible. Then, I was referred to José Ramos by a friend from work (in custodial services). From the moment I met José, I felt a sense of relief. I explained my referral and my situation. He gave me a honest quote of around $5,000 and then gave me a game-changing offer: if I could find the parts myself, he would deduct the cost and, most importantly, the quote would not change. He promised no surprises. I found the parts, and José stayed true to his word in every way. He was not trying to take advantage; he was transparent, fair, and kind. In the end, I paid a total of $2,950.36--less than half of what others wanted. José is a blessing in disguise. He understood this accident happened at the worst possible time, and he treated me with respect and empathy, not just as a customer. He eased a huge burden during a period filled with worry about my mother, a cross-country move, and financial pressure. I cannot recommend José Ramos highly enough. My trusted mechanic told me I needed a new pulley (the part a belt wraps atound) and the cost would be $250. The car has been running and sounding perfect since my trustee mechanic fixed it. DO NOT...... Let me repeat..... DO NOT....take your car here. This place is why auto repair shops get a bad reputation. Thank god I only wanted a diagnostic but imagine all the other poor people being given similar outrageous explanations and wasting their hard earned money on this place.
