Fast forward to a ridiculously rainy, pitch-black night, I saw them parked, checked out the menu, and decided to finally try it out. I ordered two sandwiches and waited inside while it downpoured. While I waited, I chatted with Shout out to Christine C. (who, was wearing open-toe sandals in that mess of a storm), and it finally clicked--this was the food truck I had heard about! I'd already been hyped from the event, but now it was about to get real. Time to see if they lived up to the buzz. Aunty handed me my sandwiches--and let me tell y'all, they did not miss. Not on flavor, not on freshness, not on the care they put into making that food. The smash burger? Two juicy patties dripping with flavor, melted cheese, fresh tomato, and that bandit sauce. I don't know exactly what's in that sauce it's giving aioli vibes but whatever it is, it hit. I took one bite, and before I finished chewing, I already wanted another. Flavor on flavor. And the chicken sandwich? It didn't come to play either. A lot of chicken sandwiches are just... fine. This one pulled out all the tricks. The chicken breast was seasoned all the way through, battered with a crispy crunch (not soggy), and topped with fresh, crisp veggies. You could tell they battered it themselves. This wasn't some tired fast-food version. This sandwich had something to say and I heard it loud and clear. Food trucks can be hit or miss. At one point, they were the next cupcake trend everyone had one, but few stood out. Flavor Bandits Food Truck hit different. They're serving serious eats at solid prices, all from the window of a truck. Local business. Kind people. All-female run. And absolutely crushing it with big flavor and good vibes. Follow them on socials. Track them down. Get yourself a smash burger, a chicken sandwich, and don't forget extra bandit sauce. You'll thank me later. Easy 5 out of 5 stars.

We ordered the jerk chicken grilled cheese with tomato soup, and the flavor combination was excellent. The sandwich was packed with flavor and the tomato soup paired nicely with it. However, the service side of the experience could definitely be improved. The wait time was longer than usual because we were told they only take one preset order at a time and don't start the next order until the current one is completely finished. While the food was good, that process makes things move pretty slowly. Additionally, on a previous visit we drove a good distance and arrived about 5-10 minutes before the posted closing time, and there was no line or anyone waiting to be served. The person working was outside the truck having a conversation with someone and told us they were already closed. It was frustrating since we made the effort to get there before closing. Seeing the truck closed while someone was standing outside talking made it a little hard to digest. Overall, the food is definitely good and worth trying, but the service seems a bit selective at times. Hopefully that part improves because the food really does have great potential.

The pineapple aqua Fresca was sweet but not overpowering, wish they had strawberry one. For the tacos they bigger than street tacos by a mile and very generous with meat filling. Particularly the shrimp one was impressive since usually I find places that don't use jumbo size for shrimp tacos and just use popcorn size and a lot cilantro and onion to mask it. The consommé dip was incredible and glad they left chucks of beef in it like a little soup. The queso birria taco was not greasy or messy, right amount of cheese and beef. Best place for tacos in Middletown I had.

Some of us got coffees which took a bit but they were delicious. Definitely worth the wait. They have a good kids menu too. We got the frychos with chorizo as an appetizer which I've always loved but everyone at the table enjoyed them. Although I have my regular favorites I decided to try something off the brunch menu and I'm glad I did. I got the chilaquiles with green sauce and carne asada. It was very good. My only complaint was the steak wasn't cut up but that could be a personal preference. It tasted great. My husband got the breakfast torta with chorizo and really liked it. My mother in law got the breakfast omelet and she's very picky but loved it. The service was great the entire time. She even took a group photo for us at the end.
