It's a small nostalgic diner, so you have to get there before the dinner rush. At 4pm, there was almost no seating. That didn't stop the service from being exquisite or the food from being delicious. I am a creature of habit and did the 94 Burger and it hit like it does. Great! Delicious! Mouth Watering! My family indulged in wings, burgers, popcorn chicken, and Mediterranean wraps and various fries. All fantastic and savory. Of course, we made room for ice cream from milkshakes to rocky road to coffee flavored and everyone left beyond full and possibly comatose. Great job again, Clarke's. read more

Always drive by here when making deliveries and finally had to come by to try myself. The place is bit small but is cozy with that 50s retro vibe. The staff here is so friendly and welcoming, very great for my first visit. So I ordered the smoked brisket sandwich and I will say it took a while, but can't rush quality. The brisket meat was so tender and moist, definitely delicious since often brisket I get is usually dried and drowned in gravy, here it stands on its own and gravy just adds more flavor. Gravy was pretty good and made a great dip for the fries. For the fries, love the thick cut rustic style, so awesome to have fresh cut fries rather frozen. Pretty great meal and man if did not feel filled from the brisket I would do tried the desserts I saw, in the ice cream area. read more

We have been back many times. The Brisket sandwich is amazing!!! I get it every time. One time they had run out of it and I was so sad. The food is exceptional. Burgers are the best in town. Salads and wraps are fresh. Homemade salad dressings and soups are a treat. The atmosphere is casual, friendly and upbeat. Amazing ice cream soft serve go in there like three times a month. It's a little pricey, but it's worth it.

Clarkes is a fun little place. Great bar/quick food. If you order take out certain foods, they wait for you to get there before they cook it so it doesn't get soggy which is great. It's not a long wait at all. I would suggest! read more

My parents live near here and we stopped in once since there are not a ton of restaurants in this area. We were truly blown away! The BBQ is amazing and made on site. Brisket and pulled pork are delicious and tender. Wings are outstanding. Their burgers and sandwiches are also extremely solid. It is a small retro diner and the prices are reasonable considering how everything is more expensive. The service is kind as well. Seriously, the best ice cream and unbelievable handmade CREATIVE ice cream cakes. Everything you can ask for in a neighborhood old-fashioned ice cream shop. So many flavors to choose from. Hard and soft ice cream. Not only that, but they have a full service restaurant. We go there for lunch often! Seriously, the best burgers in the area. Nice size portions. Check out their menu. I pulled into the parking lot as I thought something was wrong with my car and I was on a 2 - lane highway -- there was no where else I could feasibly see as safe to pull over and I'd been wanting to eat at this place for some time (I pass by every day on my way to work). I came to find a flat tire. I'd already had a hard day and was crying as I'd just been informed of a family tragedy and worked a nearly 10 hour day. I am a 23 year old female out on my own, I just moved to Warwick in April, I work in construction, and by 5pm on Monday I was at my breaking point. I had every intention of going inside and buying something while waiting for AAA, as the last time I'd tried to change my own tire I wasn't strong enough to unscrew the nuts on my own, but due to phone calls I had to make to let people know where I was and not wanting to walk in sobbing my life away, my AAA technician showed up before I got the chance to go inside. Once he was there, we realized there were actually 2 flats, so I had to call AAA and change the work order -- I was on hold for a while so all we could do was sit there and wait as I got transferred around by HR. Note that I was in a parking space, and my tow truck driver was out of the way enough for cars to pass by him. The owner (I assume) and his wife (I also assume, however I could be wrong) came out, would not wait for me to explain or wait for me to try to finish being on the phone, verbally assaulted me and my tow truck driver (I have proof provided by the recorded phone call with AAA), and then called the cops on us. F-bomb this, F-bomb that. "Get off my property." "I am trying to run a business." I was in tears, very obviously in distress and begging for patience while on the phone with AAA. This man looked me in my face, cussed me out, and as I desperately tried to explain to him what the issue was, promptly and negligently said "I'm not listening to you. Get off your phone and get your f***** car off my property," with the reasoning -- "You drove it in here, drive it out of here." Yes, he said that to me while looking at my two flat tires. He and his wife, again I assume was his wife, proceeded to call the cops on myself and my tow truck. An officer arrived, took a statement, and by the time he was finished talking to both the owners and my driver, I was FINALLY able to get all the AAA service squared away so my truck driver could perform his duty legally. I understand that it was a 'busy' time (4 people in the parking lot...), but I wasn't there more than an hour and a half. The tow truck was only there for 40 minutes. I was at Clarke's at roughly 5:00pm, and at the mechanic before 7:00pm with a half hour drive in between. I understand how that can be frustrating for a store owner, but no one, especially someone in distress, deserves to be sworn at, disrespected, and made to feel like their value was reduced to a single parking space. I understand the food and wait staff are more than likely phenomenal at this establishment, and truthfully I had every intention of coming inside, grabbing a bite because I was incredibly hungry, and trying to make some good out of an already horrible day. However, after being cussed out, called names, and made to feel unwelcomed by the cafe owners, I do not think I will even drive down that road ever again. Please keep in mind, I was not expecting any kind of help. I just needed a safe place to figure things out. I did not expect anything more than maybe a bit of patience for an obviously dire situation, and even that, I could not receive. I am incredibly disappointed at the management at Clarke's. I am honestly traumatized by the horrific treatment during a time of need, and I am outstandingly disappointed, embarrassed, and mortified to have had such a negative experience here. Why it had to happen to me, I have no idea. I've read so many great comments about this place that when I pulled in I really thought I was safe in a warm atmosphere. Clearly, I was wrong. Now that I have experienced the ownership's true colors, I encourage you to think about the kind of people you are supporting before choosing to stop here. I don't know what kind of day the owners had before this situation, but there is no excuse to act like childhood bullies in this situation. I apologize to the families in the cafe at the time who had to witness my ugly crying, the arguments that ensued, and the display of such dreadfully putrid conduct on behalf of Clarke's Cafe. I hope the cafe owners think about their actions and words with un-selfish minds, and find the peace to be more kind to future young, weary travelers having a bad day. read more

Clarke's is our family's favorite restaurant (our two young kids always beg us to go). While it may look like just an ice cream and burger joint, they have delicious salads and sandwiches as well. My husband loves the brisket--all bbq is smoked in house! Their ingredients are incredibly fresh from the veggies to the hand cut fries, and the staff makes you feel like family. Great food! I was so happy to find a good vegan option (the mediterranean veggie wrap with no feta), and my friend really enjoyed his burger. I stole some of his fries, and they were incredible! First. The forever view. It's an old Diner, or similar venue. But it's all big windows, looking out over the valley. Second. They have good ice cream and salads--a nice combination.
