What a pleasant surprise this cafe was. Friendly service and a decent sized menu. We ordered at the counter and found a seat in the cozy back room. We would have sat outside but it was a bit too hot. The food came out hot and fast and OMG the portions were huge. I'm not kidding when I say, this was the best chicken salad I've ever had. The croissant was loaded! And so was my husband's club sandwich. The crispy Brussels were insanely good. Again, some of the best I've ever had. The gentleman that took our order came to check on us and I had to let him know that our lunch was amazing. He told us that it was his family's restaurant and they took food quality very seriously. There is NO doubt about that. I wish this place was in my backyard. Seriously the best lunch we had while on vacation!! I was told their oatmeal cream pies were a hit, so I had to get one for the road. They were not kidding. I tried to make it last a couple days to really savor the sweetness and it was torture. I wanted to inhale the cookie sandwich after the first bite. The cookie was chewy and soft, and the cream balanced it out perfectly. If the owners see this, I need a whole box shipped to me ASAP. The only thing I will note is... while browsing the general store after having lunch, I stopped to let one of the employees know that they had a great selection of items. She proceeds to look at me weird and then ask me if I had two hats on. What? She then reaches out and touches the brim of my hat. She acted like I was stealing. I took my hat off to show that I indeed only had one hat on and I was so put off by the interaction. I hadn't even tried on any of the hats they had for sale. Not sure if they have a problem with people stealing there and are just hyper vigilant, but please do not touch customers. Thank goodness the lunch was fantastic, because I would have been very upset after that interaction. Otherwise a great experience aside from that weird interaction. The general store does have a great selection of gifts and other items.

I got a cappuccino from the cafe and it was hands-down the best cappuccino I've had in Madison County. A little pricey, but worth it. Woman who made it was very personable and she knew how to make a REAL cappuccino. Not a latte. Hard to find out here! I look forward to making this little gem a regular stop on my work commute. Adorable swing set and picturesque creek behind the building. Adorable.

It was just PERFECT!…read more Yes, to answer Jenna W., now Leicester has their own post office, so it's not an Asheville address any longer. TOTALLY understand the owners not wanting to change the name of their businesses . . . it's a suburb of the greater Asheville area, only about 10-15 minutes from Asheville proper! The winding narrow driveway, quickly took us up to the farm where we felt like we were hours away from "civilization," yet we were only a short drive away from a grocery store, shoppes, and other Asheville conveniences. The owners were so thoughtful! They had stocked the home with SO many items frequently forgotten . . . way beyond the average well-stocked kitchen! And wowzers . . . who doesn't love fresh-from-the-farm eggs, the owners supplied for our enjoyment? The supply closet? SO ORGANIZED with labeled bins!! Several choices for laundry detergent, softener, & dryer sheets, extra towels, sheets, blankets, throws, and personal items like first aid supplies, toiletries, and even feminine products! Yep. They thought of everything. We loved feeding the goats with the carrots Randy brought up. And the VIEW from the wall of windows overlooking the pastures, other nearby farms, allowed a vista of the cattle grazing both on Randy's farm and the hillsides nearby. Oh! And the sunrises over the mountains were spectacular as the sun reached the tips of the mountain ranges first and then filled our view. Because it was very cold, we spent little time on the large deck, but LOVED the ambiance of the stringed cafe lights, and the table and chairs. When we go back, we'll visit during warmer weather and have ALL of our meals out there! Yes, we're already plotting a return! When we arrived, Randy greeted us with some WONDERFUL goodies which we enjoyed snacking on throughout our stay. He also gave us a tour as he answered all of our questions about the property. Our pups LOVED romping through the fenced area after Randy was kind enough to move the goats to another pasture for an afternoon! They ran up and down the hillside playing fetch until they (thankfully) were exhausted! BIG thumbs up for the Asheville Farm Stay. We loved it. We'll be back!
