The trail was beautiful: shady sections, little creeks to cross, gentle up-and-down hills, and tons of lush green scenery all around. We passed several bikers and hikers, and every single one was super respectful of the horses and politely gave us the right of way. The horses themselves were awesome. calm and steady, with just the right amount of playful sass to keep it interesting. We left smiling and already talking about coming back. There are a few signs along the way to reassure you that you're on the right path. When you arrive you will sign a waiver and we paid $60 for the ride. Kathy & Liz were our guides and my horse was Eros. They give you a helmet to wear on the ride and then help you up on the horses & start the ride. The horses were well behaved and knew exactly where they were going and followed in a line. It was a beautiful day for a ride and I had a great time! After the ride you can feed the horses carrots.

I know that many people were a part of this coming together and many people donated time and skills. The horse pens have all been sponsored by different people in the community or different businesses. I live in the area and watched the lot change from a sandy riverbed to a graded level area to drive in. I have animals and I live near this camp. I am glad to see that hesperia is supportive of those of us who still enjoy the desert life and enjoy having our animals. This part of the desert is still very country and many people have small ranches over here. This is a welcomed addition to the neighborhood.
