Are the trails only slow paced?

I've never experienced a trail riding company that allows anything more that a walking pace. This is due to risk of injury to both horse and rider if you are making them run. The trail is gorgeous and the horses are well treated and calm.

Are the rental horses for a guided ride at a walk? I'm looking for somewhere I could do some arena work with a rental

We went to this water park for the first time because it's a smaller water park and much closer for…read moreus than the other options. It's a cute little place for kids with a lazy river, three slides, a toddler area, and a wave area. I was excited to find somewhere that was a little more convenient and purchased 3 season passes. Unfortunately, we were only able to use the passes twice. When I originally asked the girls working at the front desk about the schedule, I was told that the park would be open Monday through Friday through the end of August. Based on that information, I felt comfortable purchasing the season passes because I knew my other kids would be coming back from vacation and we would have plenty of opportunities to use them. That ended up not being the case. The park was closed multiple times for private events, and then the schedule changed. I eventually called to check whether they were open and got a voicemail saying that they would now only be open on weekends until Labor Day. I emailed the park because I was disappointed and explained the situation. Unfortunately, I didn't feel like they were very helpful. I was basically told that the calendar had been posted since the beginning of summer and that it was my responsibility to check it. The problem is, I didn't even know there was a calendar to check. I was given information directly by the employees at the front desk that the park would be open Monday through Friday through the end of August. If someone had told me, "Our schedule can change, so please check our online calendar before purchasing," I absolutely would have done that. In fact, if I had known the actual schedule, I probably wouldn't have purchased the season passes in the first place. Because of the closures, private events, and schedule changes, I was only able to use my pass twice and couldn't use it when my other kids returned from vacation, which was the whole reason I purchased the passes. I think it's a cute little water park and could be a fun option for younger kids, especially if you're looking for something smaller than the big water parks. But unfortunately, the way this was handled left a really bad taste in my mouth. I completely understand that schedules can change and private events happen. What I don't think is fair is telling customers one thing when they're purchasing passes and then essentially telling them afterward that they should have known to check a calendar they weren't aware existed. I'm sure three season passes aren't going to make or break the business, but as a customer, I definitely feel like I got screwed over for simply trusting the information I was given by the employees.

Then I called couple more times over the next few hours. No answer. And no callbacks. - Only 2 private restrooms near the entrance (no multi-stall restrooms). - The cafe by the pb crts closes early. The tourney ran into the evening. As you can imagine, plenty contestants and spectators grew hungry and thirsty. + Nice selection of healthy snacks and drinks though. - No weather shelter over the pb courts. Rain caused some hindrance.

Horrible customer service! So sad to write this review. Been here once with a Groupon on a guided trail with my daughters and had a great experience. Came back this January for my daughter's birthday and paid full price for seven people. We got there and were "greeted " by a blonde lady (see picture attached). Right off the bat she was rude to us and rushed us through the process even though we arrived 20 minutes early as requested and had plenty of time. She went on to complain that our paperwork was out of order. And then proceeded to make jokes in front of five little girls that someone had fallen off a horse that day and the emergency vehicles had come to pick them up. That was NOT funny and very inappropriate. You aren't allowed to carry any belongings on the ride and the last time I came the guide held my phone so we can get pictures. The blonde girl pictured rudely refused to help with that and said "every guide has their own rules and I don't want to be responsible for the phone and if you take it out we will promptly end your ride" Now this is understandable it was more about her attitude when talking to customers She then went on to assign the horses and when describing the personality of a couple of the horses called them "assholes" and even went on to say "I hate this horse" She ended up not being our guide thank goodness. During our guided trail ride my daughters helmet fell off her head. We had two guides with us neither one of them went to help her. She's a beginner with little experience And didn't know how to hold onto the reins while also fixing her helmet which was still buckled around her neck Luckily my friend was riding with us and she is very experienced so she went up to my daughter and held onto her horse while also fixing her helmet while the two guides on our trail just sat there watching. At this point the horses were getting stressed out because they wanted to go back and it was getting late and all of the horses began to act out just a bit but the trail guides did not do anything about it. I was concerned for the safety of all of the children we had with us Thank goodness the kids had a good time overall but as parents I did not feel safe or even welcome there. The people working there just try and get it over with and that is really unfortunate since people schedule these rides wAy in advanced and really look forward to them. We got there early at the office, as was instructed. Our guide actually saw us pulling up to the parking lot and never even approached us. I knocked the office door and took a peek inside, there was nobody inside. I also tried calling the number and nobody picked up of course. We were just waiting around for 10 minutes to see if anyone would go in/ come out of the office until I finally went up to one of the volunteers (?), this nice older lady, I asked her about the tour. Then she pointed out where our guide would be, which is when we had to walk all the way to approach her. Never even introduced herself to us. Our horses were wonderful though; I could tell they were very well-trained. Although, they do have varying degrees of obedience- some needed harder pull/ kick to steer. Our guide was not friendly at all. If anything, she was scarier than the ride itself. She was kind of rude and mean, never smiled at us. It was my little cousin and my brother's first time riding horses and our guide got so impatient and she even raised her voice at my cousin when he didn't kick the horse hard enough to get it to walk. She acted as if she didn't want to be there and certainly didn't want to do the tour. We felt very unwelcome. I was going to bring my fanny pack so I could take pictures on the trail (I've ridden horses before) but she told us not to bring anything at all, even backpacks' fanny packs. The only thing that made this tour better was the nice horses and friendly people/ bikers we met on the trail. Will not do this tour again, and will not recommend. read more

Lady that answered the phone was horrible .. she made me feel stupid .. I called and ask a question because it was my first time horseback riding .. I own business my self and would never talk to my customers that way .. especially since I'm new to it .. oh well rather drive 30 minutes to another place than deal with that .. don't they understand that i was super excited to come here from the pictures on there website .. :( bad employees that don't care can really ruin it for the owners :/ Not to owners I called 3 times with no answer during business hours around 2pm Finally answered in "what you want tone " Asked her questions and she answered sarcastically and made me feel stupid Made me from all excited to wow I don't even want to go 1/17/17 called around 2pm read more

I've taken my daughters here now a few times and its' by far my favorite place to go horseback riding. I've been to many locations here in southern California but this one is by far my most favorite location. Every guide we've ever had has been sweethearts. We had the pleasure of having Ms. Gwen as our tour guide this time around and as usual, we were MORE than pleased. She was nice enough to take a few pics of us while we were riding and than send them to me by email. The weather was perfect and the customer service from Ms. Gwen and our horses Diamond, Dexter and Chloe was wonderful. You won't be disappointed if you book a ride here read more

Avoid this horse facility for its terrible treatment of rental horses and boarders there. While most problems could be fixed if the current owner actually cared about the animals and about what the people who pay her to board there actually think, the problems that make this place the hallmark of instability remain as long as that facility operator still is in charge. Everyone in the area knows about the problems at Marshall Canyon Equestrian Center, but this is not obvious to people reading about it online. Nikki was the trail guide for my granddaughter and I for a two hour ride. Nikki made the ride fun and engaged with us throughout the ride. The trails are set in the mountain range and absolutely the most beautiful place to enjoy of these majestic animals. We passed many hikers and mountain bikers and the horses were not skittish at all. Nikki was alert to the noises of the bikes keeping us feeling safe in her care. Best guided ride we've ever experienced. Can't wait to return. read more

Dad was to heavy. Apparently there's a 240 lb weight limit on the horses. Who knew? Mom was too scared. I can't get into the deep-seated runaway horse Syndrome from youth in this post. But the daughter little girl for her first horse riding experience was over excited and happy animated. it made it all worthwhile. She happily trotted off on the guided tour by herself. My daughter has been taking lessons from Joy for nine months now. She has learned so much in not only in horseback riding but also in caring for the horses (brushing, hoof picking, tacking). My daughter always asks to go there and stay longer. Joy is very patient and encouraging of my daughter and pushes her to continue to strive to learn more.
