    Buffalo ranch chicken

First time in Philadelphia, first time in PA, we were on the search for the best cheesesteaks. Gouldsburger's came highly recommended. Owner was there and very welcoming and friendly. He helped us with the menu choices and I feel like we hit a good variety with my family of 5. We tried a burger, and basically 4 different cheesesteaks. We also had to get the fried pickles, being big fans and I will say this is the only thing we got that was a BIG let down. Highly over salted, burnt, not crispy, not a great batter. Would not order those again or suggest them. They do seem to have good pickles but need a better batter, turn the heat down on the fryer so they're not all clumped and burnt. Also, a tip from some Texans that know a thing or two about frying pickles...the sauce needs to compliment the good quality pickles and should be a dill forward homemade ranch. Just my opinion! The REST of the items we tried were all delicious. Fantastic quality bread with great texture and flavor. The cheese is the Cooper sharp yellow and it's perfect, melted in, gooey, creamy excellent in the cheesesteak. The truffle aioli didn't hold back, when you say truffle you mean it and we appreciate that. It's fantastic! There was a good ratio of meat and cheese to bread as well. The buffalo chicken was lacking a bit, my son couldn't really taste the ranch and when he asked for extra he was given some and it was a basic hidden valley...a missed opportunity in our opinion as this doesn't have much flavor. Are these the best the city has to offer? A probably contender I'm sure. Better than the OG rivals situated across the street from each other we tried earlier that day...by far, hands down Gouldsburgers has taken the simple meat bread cheese and nearly perfected it. Have we tried better elsewhere? Yes...in PA but not in Philly, surprisingly! Would we go back while in Philadelphia, absolutely.

Philly Special One of my favorite Philly chesesteaks! Not Angelo's level good, but nothing can be. This is a way easier to get, delicious alternative. I love the steak and Cooper sharp, and adored the onions and hot peppers on top. And the everything bread is great!!

I work super close to this spot and finally got a chance to try it after hearing good things from my coworkers. I got a beef cheesesteak combo with straight cut fries and a cola with cane sugar. Even though this was considered a half cheesesteak, it was a big portion and was worth the price. I normally don't like seeded bread but this bread was so good! The beef was tasty and not dry. This was actually my first time trying cooper sharp on a cheesesteak and it was just a bit heavy at the time in the middle of the work day. Next time I'll get a different cheese or ask for less cheese. The fries were hot, crispy, perfectly seasoned, and seemed like they were made fresh in-house and not frozen. Even during the lunch rush, the staff knocked out these orders efficiently. I would definitely come back next time I'm in the mood for a cheesesteak.

We had such a great experience today. We are in town for the national track meet with New Balance and enjoy staying on Logan Square. When looking for food when we arrived today, this spot popped up in my Yelp search and I'm so glad. We were greeted so nicely and the food was so good. I love the attention that we got. We were a rather large party and the servers were so apologetic that the macaroni and cheese was taking so long. It was so sweet. That Philly cheesesteak that I had was FABULOUS! It was huge and I couldn't eat it all! The flavor was spot on. My husband raved about the truffle fries but I passed because I have to cut carbs somewhere LOL I hope we can stop back before leaving but we will definitely go back on another visit.

A great cheesesteak and fries! I love the prime beef and cooper sharp cheese. The fries were some of the best I've had in Philly.

I recently started working close to this location, and ordered lunch there twice. The food and service are excellent. Employees are extremely friendly and helpful. I love that you can order online or at their kiosk on-site. Great spot for lunch

I visited for lunch during Restaurant Week, which I enjoyed because of its close proximity to the corporate hub in Center City where I work and for its solid menu. I was seated quickly at a high-top for my noon reservation. The restaurant is much larger inside than it looks, split in half with the left providing an upscale bar aesthetic while the right presents a quieter, modern lounge feel. (It seemed like service staff was directing those with previously-booked OpenTable RSVPs to the lounge side.) Service was great, as my waitress continuously checked in during my meal even as more customers arrived throughout the lunch period. I appreciated being offered to add fries on my burger order, as Village Whiskey didn't have it automatically added on the RW menu. The only drawback was she forgot to ask how I wanted my burger cooked, but it came out medium rare which is the way I eat it regardless. I trust that's how they default, which is a good sign. The Food Breakdown: Deviled Eggs (4/5) - Classic, solid, and a good starter. I honestly selected it since the other appetizer options didn't really appeal to me, but nothing spectacular or negative about it. Four comes with each order. All-American Burger (5/5) - Fantastic. I'm not a pickle enjoyer, but the acidity just blended into each juicy bite. The jam had a slight kick, and you can taste the fattiness within the double Wagyu smash patties. High-quality all around and a solid portion size. Duck Fat Fries (4/5) - They were well-seasoned, and each order comes with a small side of ketchup. Granted I didn't ask, but I almost wish they offered a spicy mayo instead because it would complement the crunchiness better. Overall, the food quality and taste were superb. My only caveat was the price, knowing that $35 after tax and gratuity for lunch (without an additional drink) is costly. I wouldn't be able to come everyday, but it certainly has my vote for sharing with others the destination that has an immaculate burger.

The wait staff informed me that there was NO ROOM for us in the EMPTY seating area, so we were seated next door in the bar area. If you can tell me why there was no room in an empty restaurant for a party who arrived ON TIME, please someone let me know. At any rate the bar area was fun and lively but a bit narrow to navigate. Since it was happy hour, we ordered all of the $6 Snacks and some $8 snack items. OOOK, here we go: Hot chicken slider( you only get 1 folks) very good and had the right amount of toppings 5/5 Pulled pork slider: Very flavorful, juicy, and tender: 5/5 Caesar salad: 5/5 Deviled eggs. Good, but too salty Fried pickles: Good, but too salty Chicken & Andouille Gumbo: This was excellent. The braised chicken thighs were seasoned well and very tender. The pickled red onions really elevated this dish. 5/5 The grilled salmon had a great char and crunch. It was not dry nor over cooked. 5/5 The burger was delicious just as a burger should be and the famous duck fat fries were very crunchy. 5/5 for both Happy hour is really the time to go, but make sure they honor your reservation. Til we eat again....

On a whim, I called Butcher Bar and told them I know it's last minute on a Saturday night, but could they accommodate 9 people. They told me if we were there in 30 minutes they could make it work, so we rushed over. We sat at the bar for drinks as they cleaned up a table. They overheard us talking about how The Trough would be nice (feeds 8 for $300, but was more than enough for us 9), and said if we wanted that they could get it started as the table was prepared. We said yes, and were sat a few minutes later with drinks in hand. Jenna (Gema? She had grape earrings) was a fantastic server and just so kind and attentive. She kept the drinks flowing and The Trough arrived sooner than I expected and was everything I wanted for dinner and more. I can't thank Butcher Bar enough for saving the night for my 40th and just providing a fantastic experience. We'll be back, and we promise to give more notice next time! :)

I'd heard the fish and chips were something special here, and they absolutely lived up to the hype. A generous piece of fish, fried beautifully -- not greasy at all -- that flaked perfectly with every bite. My niece doesn't eat fish, and even she took a bite and approved. High praise. But honestly? The star of the evening were the Madras Curry deviled eggs. Outstanding. Truly. And the dip with the perfectly toasted bread was equally impressive -- everything was prepared with real care. The drinks were lovely, and the atmosphere is in a category all its own. There is so much to look at. You could spend hours in there and still not catch everything on the walls. It's the kind of place that earns a second visit just to take it all in. Highly recommend -- whether it's a birthday, a date, or any excuse to get to Philly.

A quick note for first-time visitors: the restaurant has multiple entrances, and I initially arrived at the back door. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful in directing me to the correct entrance. The space has a unique atmosphere. The indoor dining area felt quite dark, but the restaurant appears to have multiple levels, including an upstairs dining area and a bar, which adds to its charm. I started with a cocktail and really enjoyed it. It was fruity, well-balanced, and had just the right amount of alcohol without being overpowering. Based on recommendations, I ordered the burger. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype for me. It could have been cooked better, and overall I wasn't particularly impressed with it. What stood out most was the service. My server was attentive, friendly, and checked in regularly without being intrusive. Overall, The Dandelion offers a pleasant atmosphere, excellent service, and great cocktails. While the burger wasn't a standout for me, I'd be willing to return and try other menu items.
