The place looks like it's about to fall apart and fail health inspection. Yet the place attracts people and the food was surprisingly not bad!

To good to leave anything left over.

Awesome! Food. Very nice lady at the counter. Great people watching spot. Would come back again for sure.

The pizza was too salty and the dough was a bit too soft. The location is extremely small so it's takeout only. The staff were nice but I won't return.

We stopped here on a whim after doing some sight seeing in the city on the way back to the hotel. It's a small store and there were about five young boys inside with backpacks clearly getting a bite to eat after school. The woman at the counter handled everything with grace and was kind and efficient. We shared a pizza slice and a side of curly fries. It was reasonably priced too as it was $13 for the slice, fries and a bottle of soda. Both were delicious and fresh and took about 5-7 minutes to be ready. I would absolutely return.

We had spent all day sightseeing in Philly and I was starving. Knew I wanted to try a cheesesteak and this place was right across the street from my hotel. Normally I don't let distance dictate where I eat, but the reviews looked promising so I thought I'd give it a shot. It's a corner shop in downtown Philadelphia, so the vibe is a little sketch, they see quite the variety of customers. That being said, the place was clean and the staff was super nice & worked efficiently together. Went with a classic cheesesteak with provolone and fried onions. Took about 5 min to make, nice and quick. Took it back to the hotel to eat and wow was I impressed with this sandwich! The bread was a soft, fresh hoagie roll, the meat was tender and flavorful, the cheese was all melty and I got a great cheese pull when separating the two sandwich halves. I would absolutely go back there again to try their other cheesesteaks and pizza. Love that they do pizza by the slice, great stop for a snack or small meal!

Decided to stop here for a late lunch after a minor fiasco that derailed our evening plans. The pizza was pretty solid and tasty.its not gourmet or anything but it will hit the spot if you're after pizza. I saw the other 2 reviews here for their cheese steak sandwich and I agree with them, it's tasty, rather light on the cheese and grilled onions. I ordered the sandwich and the cashier asked what else I wanted on it and I asked what they recommended. Her reply was onions and pepper so I said sure. I would eat it again. I don't have any others from the area to compare against, but it's not bad at all when compared with anything I've had in LA, how it compares here TBD. It's definitely a hole in the wall sort of join, and they don't have seating and you could eat using the standing only window tables/ledge. Service was friendly enough as you would expect for a small place like this.

Searched all over for a cheesesteak since it's my first time in philly. Everyone told me to go to many different places so I decided to venture out on my own to Chinatown and happened upon this place while looking for another place. Noticed there weren't any pictures reviews so thought I'd leave one I would've liked more cheese but this was flavorful!! It ran me a little over $12 for just the sandwich alone. Inside was clean and the food smelled great. Service was fast but not very friendly. She could've been having a bad day or it could just be a philly thing. Either way, I'm not displeased with the sandwich but probably wrong but one for that price again They must be known for their pizza because that's what everyone else was buying. But again, the sandwich was good!

Out of a whim we stopped at this Philly Steak & Pizzeria. After I saw the ratings. The pizzeria was clean, the staff quietly friendly and our pizza was delicious. My son it ranked third in his favs of the nation. Top one in NY. Crust had the soft chewy almost sour dough awesome taste. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

It's a better value than the places in The Reading Terminal. Biggest downside is they're confusing about topping being an extra charge & I heard the lady come in after me complain about that as well. I would not have gotten any of the toppings I did if I knew how much extra it'd cost. I believe it's ¢50- $1 per topping, which is a huge shame. There's no where to sit and eat in here & the vibes are hurry up & get out. The cheese steak itself was decent though, but I don't plan on returning.

Fortunately, I got booked on a flight out the next morning and found a hotel in the city. Other than running to a drug store, my only other time leaving my hotel was to grab dinner at Pizzeria Vetri across the street. I enjoyed the food, the service, and the ambiance. I was immediately seated upon arriving to Pizzeria Vetri. I was asked if I wanted to sit at the bar, at a table, or at the pizza counter. I chose the pizza counter so that I could watch staff making pizzas. As I was there on my own, the serving staff continued to stop by and check on me. The menu includes neopolitan pizzas (12" feeding 1-2 people) and metro pizzas (28" feeding 3-4 people). They make pizzas, calzones, antipasti, and salads. I chose a Neapolitan-style pepperoni pizza consisting of pepperoni, tomato sauce, mozzarella, and fresh oregano. It was quite filling and absolutely delicious! They also sell pizza kits so that you can make your own pizza at home. Pizzeria Vetri was created to celebrate the art of authentic pizza making. They aimed to create simple food made exactly the right way using the best and freshest ingredients served in a space where all are welcome. While I might choose another place for takeout, when the goal is a night of pizza, wine, great atmosphere, and authentic neighborhood vibes, this is usually where we end up. The space is bright, industrial, airy, and thoughtfully designed but unforced. White walls, warm wood, considered lighting, and a floor plan with real breathing room. The vibe recalls Bucktown, Wicker Park, Williamsburg, and Greenpoint: design-forward but genuinely local. There's a great bar, and booths near the kitchen with glass windows that let you watch the staff. Our three-year-old was mesmerized, and the staff was warm and playful, smiling and waving while they cooked. A small detail, but memorable. The crowd feels local. Good music, friendly people, hip but never pretentious. It's just a fun place to be with great service, too. The food is outstanding. We usually order the chicories caesar with grana padano and breadcrumbs, and the lettuce salad with shaved vegetables and creamy oregano dressing. For pizza, we love the arrabbiata (the Angry pie) and tomato pie with sausage and pickled chilies. My wife enjoys the ice cream. A note on bringing kids: I don't think this is a family restaurant, but if your kids are curious and well-behaved, it's absolutely worth bringing them earlier in the evening. We've gone around 4:30 or 5:00 on weekends and always felt comfortable. One time, our daughter had a full meltdown, and we were mortified, but the staff couldn't have been cooler. They packed everything to go, kindly and without any judgment. That kind of grace is hard to fake, and it genuinely stuck with us. Pricing is fair for the quality of the food and the experience. Places like this can seem overrated or overpriced, but this one doesn't. It offers real value for a memorable night out. The whole restaurant feels like a microcosm of Philadelphia's progressive, creative side. There's real ambition behind it, but it still feels human and grounded, nothing sterile, nothing corporate, nothing over-engineered. Just smart people building a cool neighborhood place that others actually want to spend time in. Oh, and make a reservation. Great spot, Joe. We'll be back soon. Thank you!

The hostess took our coats (a nice touch!) and then a rotation of two servers explained the specials and we ordered. I love that the menu is on the shorter side and they rotate the pizza offerings, so even if you're visiting on a regular basis, you'll always be able to try something new. Additionally, when a menu is only about 2 pages, you know everything on those two pages is top notch, as was the case at Pizzeria Beddia. This evening we got the meatballs (didn't take a photo, was too excited, but they were HUGE and excellent) and the beef, pork and veal balls with a rich red sauce was outstanding. Came in an order of 2 but one was plenty for each of us. The Pizza we got had potatoes on it, and we added sausage per the servers recommendation, and it was cooked perfectly and all of the flavors blended so well together. We are so lucky to have an amazing (and nationally recognized!) pizza spot in the neighborhood and it's always nice when you can walk in without a reservation from time to time.
