What an amazing dive bar in the Philly area. I caught onto this place while watching YouTube videos. When I seen that Lucky's Last Chance won best burger 3 times I knew I had to try lucky's award winning PB&J burger. Walking into Lucky's, you're immediately engulfed with the iconic Dive Bar ambiance. This style option defines your experience, good vibe, good food. Our server was very friendly, fit the vibe, explained the menu and seasonal options well. As for the burger, patties cooked perfectly juicy. I must say, one would think that Peanut Butter does not go with burgers. This is an extremely wrong opinion, an old way of thinking if you must. Not really sure how to explain it, peanut butter was a perfect replacement for mayo. Drizzling the Raspberry jelly was truly the best way to go. Just as important, the bun was local and fresh, while holding up to the weight of this sandwich. I can see why this burger and Lucky's won best burger multiple times. If I ever have the luxury of visiting Lucky's Last Chance again. I may sneak in some Jalapeño jelly and give it a try! read more

Lucky's is THE best burger in Philly. They have a super unique menu with PBnJ burgers, Mac and Cheese, Truffle, you name in. Their sides of tots and fries are incredible, perfectly seasoned and crispy. The burgers are smash-style so you have the option to go for a single or double. The prices are completely reasonable for the area, about 20 bucks for a burger and a side. While I've only done take out, the space is cool with plenty of seating and a welcoming staff. They've got the takeout game done right with packaging and it automatically recommends you put sauces and dips on the side so everything stays fresh. When we lived in East Falls, we used to frequent the Lucky's location in Manayunk and absolutely loved it. Now that we're in Center City, we're so grateful to have the same experience that we did out there. We started with two sour beers from their nice selection of craft draft and can options and with the roadside fries. I ordered the pickle monster, which is worthy of every award it has won, and my husband ordered the Gorgonzilla, which was also absolutely fantastic. Two burgers topped with pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, fresh jalapeno, and our super special habanero mayo. A good dash of heat. I'm a vegetarian, and it is not easy finding a restaurant that offers a black bean burger instead of or in addition to an Impossible meat burger (I'm not a fan). So I was very excited to try Lucky's. After much internal debate, I ordered the "Almost Inferno" with a side of onion strings. Holy smokes, this was a delicious burger. The black bean patty was the perfect consistency and very hearty -- the black bean flavor was front-and-center supported by a tangy blend of spices. The habanero mayo and pepper jack cheese added a spicy but creamy kick to each bite, and the scallions (I think) under the patty offered a nice texture and punch of onion flavor. The flaky bun was just the right size and held everything together well. I love spicy food and have a relatively high heat threshold, but I found the burger to be mild/moderate in regard to the heat level. The onion strings were crispy and greasy just as I hoped they would be. The breading was slightly spicy with a faint peppery taste, and the side of special sauce added a tangy kick to each bite. The service side was big as well -- I couldn't finish them given the large size of the burger. The service was great and I really enjoyed the eclectic decor inside. Fresh off the train from NYC, this was my first meal in Philadelphia. Well my first meal was technically a ranch water and some Trader Joes peanut butter filled pretzel nuggets, but that's neither here nor there. After a 1,056 ft walk, we arrived at Lucky's Last Chance and were met with a 15 minute wait. First off, what a sick name. Lucky's Last Chance. I just wanna keep saying it. Rolls great off the tongue. About 8 min into our 15 min wait, 3 seats opened up at the bar so we just claimed them and sat there. Easy work. Lucky's Last Chance is the exact vibe that you would think when you hear the name. Divey interior with LOADS of character, people just happy to be here. I often times feel that these dive-like environments produce the happiest people. Note sure why, I will unpack that at a later date. Upon initial scan of the menu, the PB & Bacon burger caught my eye. Peanut butter on a burger? Wtf? I continued reading, and saw that it was the 3x Philadelphia Burger Brawl Winner. It's events like these that I am always skeptical for a few reasons: 1) What is Burger Brawl? Is this a legit competition? Idk. And they know I'm not going to take the time to look that up lol. 2) There were no years next to the 3x champion. What if it was 2009, 2010, 2011? What if they got CRACKED every year after. Idk. Amidst an internal war with myself on whether I should order this burger or not, I look up and to my right and see a GIGANTIC trophy that says "Burger Brawl People's Choice Award 2018." Without missing a beat he says "It should actually say 4x Champion we need to update this menu, we won in 2022 and they said we had to stop entering because we kept winning and they had us become a judge." I'm going to do my best to articulate the experience of this burger, but my little pea brain is still processing it: This burger was the best experience that I never want to have again. Great eats for late night. The wine was okay, especially for something on tap. They had a Thanksgiving sandwich special since Oct which sounded cool but macaroni was calling my name too much . Staff os friendly as this place is cool that it is open so late for food.! Better than Wawa but not quite 24-7. Works in this nice neighborhood . Bar joint is typical setting. Would I come back? Working in the area provided me the opportunity to dine at Lucky's Last Chance. Parking can be a bit challenging but circle the block a few times and you'll get a spot. Lucky's offered a nice amount of outdoor seating if that's your preference. Inside Lucky's offered a large bar with seating on two sides, a couple of window seats, some high tops, and booth seats. The venue is pretty big. Lucky's also offered two clean restrooms. The vintage pieces throughout the bar were cool and I loved the 80's music they were playing. Okay let's get to it! I ordered the My Boy Bleu burger. Featuring fresh crumbled Bleu cheese, homemade onion strings, and locally grown farm fresh diced tomatoes. I went with the double patty option. This was the best burger I've had this year! The beef procured from Carl Venezia Meats was handled with care by the chef at Lucky's. The burger was juicy and delicious. The toasted and buttered bun from Liscio's Bakey perfect. The Bleu cheese complimented the beef nicely. My side of crinkle cut fries were nice and crispy, and they had just the right amount of salt. These comments are regarding the Queen Village location. I have been a fan of this place since they opened this location. Love the menu, and the tap list is always interesting. However, in the last 12 months, I've had 4 Sunday afternoon visits, where I waited way too long for service, and just left to go somewhere else. The staff seem disinterested and miserable. We decided to dine inside since it was a little too warm to be in the heat and we didn't want our waiter/waitress to run in and out just for us. We grabbed a small table in the back near the kitchen. We were greeted and ordered some beers on tap. Next up, food. I ordered the Norc Dog (chili, onions, brown mustard). The hubs ordered the Inferno burger (junior burger with jalapeño, pepper jack cheese, and spicy mayo). Additionally, we had the Main St fries (old bay cheese sauce). We enjoyed our craft beers while we waited for our food. Everything arrived at the same time. My dog was soo good. The chili had a nice heat and mustard mixed well with the chili too. The old bay cheese sauce was very tasty. There was the perfect amount of old bay mixed in the cheese. Neither overwhelmed the fries. My husband absolutely LOVED his burger. He said the jalapeños, cheese, and spicy mayo mixed perfectly together. He kept talking about how good the burger was. This is THE spot to get a good burger. I came here with my friends after running the Philadelphia half marathon and there is nothing else that could've brought me more satisfaction than Lucky's burger. I got the Pickle Monster and there was a generous amount of pickle slices- just the way I prefer my burgers. It also came with pickle potato chips in the burger, which was a fun addition and they added a nice crunch to every bite. I was afraid the buns here would be dry based off of photos I saw on Yelp prior to coming here, but the buns were soft and delicious! I moved to Philly from Louisville, and I really miss this hot dog restaurant we had back in Louisville. I think I finally found a perfect substitute for what I've been craving. Here for the first time last night and can't wait to come back. Turns out Monday is grilled cheese night! As Monday nights should be imo. I didn't take advantage of the grilled cheese menu this time- but already know what I'm getting next time. I skipped the onions so I could really taste the burger and I was not disappointed one bit. Patties were perfect and flavorful. The ingredients on the burger did not overwhelm the burger. What I liked about the bun is that it wasn't too bready or too thick. My friend got fries- pretty standard crinkle cut fries. And we shared bacon and tomato Mac and cheese. It was great. Like so great that my friend grabbed another order to take home with them for the next day. And the bacon and tomato Mac wasn't even top of their list. So yeah- great. Place is a bar. It was my last chance in Philadelphia for one more foodie adventure, and Lucky's Last Chance didn't only have the perfect name but also was the perfect place to cap my trip. It was fire, and we happily sang along to Weezer, The Killers, Black Keys, etc. while waiting for our food. I ordered the chicken and cheese sammich. I can totally see how Lucky's Last Chance's burgers are award winning. I've had many blue cheese burgers, but I thought My Boy Bleu was one of the best I had. It was pretty simple: juicy medium rare patty, fried onion strings, slice of tomato, and tons of chunky blue cheese. Lucky Last Chance's cheese sauce was money. It was made with good quality cheeses for sure, and it tasted amazing with my chicken sandwich and side of fries with Old Bay seasoning. Lastly, customer service was excellent! All the servers were friendly and helpful. One server in particular expressed genuine concern about my experience with the undercooked chicken and really tried to make things right. If you're ever craving a big juicy burger or even a cheat day, Lucky's Last Chance will totally hit the spot! My boyfriend came her once before the pandemic and have been waiting for this place to open back up. Last time we ordered: -coney tots: delicious and good. This burger is definitely a unique one for sure and it was no surprise that that this burger won 3x in a row at the Philly burger brawl. The jam gives the burger a nice added sweetness, yet the peanut butter gives it a nice savory twist. It was PHENOMENAL. I highly recommend especially if you're someone who's interest is peeked when seeing this burger on the menu. Inferno burger - super flavorful with a big kick, hence the name. Two juicy burger patties covered in melted cheese with perfectly cooked bacon and peanut butter & jelly. With a bun sturdy enough to hold it all together, but still soft.
