Gourmet Bites Catering and Cafe is another hidden gem in this town if you ask me. It may be unassuming from the outside, but the people inside are sweet as can be, and the food they serve is delectable! Good food doesn't have to be overly fancy, and this cafe proves this in spades. Space inside is limited, but they definitely make the most with their layout of tables and chairs. Parking in the off-street lot is free which is nice, and they're right off the main road in town, so you don't really have to go out of your way to come here. Highly worth the trip if you ask me! A very small and cute cafe! We stopped in for Sunday breakfast and the place was packed! It is a very small dining room but cozy and cute. Great menu with a small Lebanese flare! Open for breakfast and lunch. They have specials but I was not aware of them until too late. Service was friendly and fine. Meal was very good - every thing was fresh and made to order. This is my second time at Gourmet Bites, and my second review. My first experience was great. Today however, not so much. The waitress was great, so no issues there, but I decided to try the Kibbe Sandwich. They offer a lot of Mediterranean offerings which would appear to be their specialty. Though the portion was large, the kibbe was mostly wheat germ. I have never had Kibbe where it was not primarily ground beef/lamb w wheat germ added, not the main ingredient. It came wrapped in pita w lettuce tomato, onion, mint salad that was very tasty. Most places serve this or Shawarma w a tahini sauce, but GB uses a dressing. My companion ordered their German omelette that is to have sausage and veggies, and it came without the sausage. He also said it was not well seasoned. I know he hates to say anything, but he did and it was rectified. I even heard the order go in, so it was ordered correctly by the waitress to the chef. There was only one other table of 2 in there, so it wasn't like it was busy. I really liked their eggs benedict featured in my first review, so maybe that is what I will go to GBs for in the future. read more

I went to breakfast on a Sunday morning. I had a slice of delicious bacon quiche and a warm apple scone. Enjoyed them both.

I discovered this place 5 years ago and I like mostly the breakfast part. So can't speak for lunch. It is small but cozy (5 tables) and you can see the owner cooking in front of your eyes. Everything tastes fresh. I recommend the omelettes. The servers are always super nice. However it would be nice if the owner herself is more welcoming especially if she sees you few times a month. read more

We needed catering for a celebration of life for my Dad. I came across Gourmet Bites Catering website and their menu options interested me. I called and spoke with Rosey informing her we needed her services for the next afternoon (this was the start of Mother's Day weekend). She not only told me she would help me but she worked directly with the funeral home as to not burden me with all the details of coordination during this stressful and emotional time for my family and me. On Friday evening Rosey and two of her staff were at the event serving the delicious food (we had many complements of the food). Rosey and her staff were professional, respectful and packaged up all of the leftovers for us to take home. Thank you so much for helping me and my family during our time of need. We had a delicious lunch last week with a very unique pasta salad side and a wonderful squash soup and two delicious sandwiches. Service was great and prices very reasonable. We noticed a promotion for a catered turkey dinner which we decided to order for the next weekend. The dinner was spectacular, hot, moist turkey, flavorful stuffing with loads of mashed potatoes and gravy. Delivered on time, again very reasonable price and we have enough left over to do it all over. Definitely use them again for catering. read more

Lived in Salem all my life and hearing of the place in Salem and it being there for 3 years shows the poor marketing. Should have only expected the same with service and food. Poorly managed with a staff of 5 rather than having one designated person for each job they had everyone doing everything, resulting in messy tables while customers wait. Along with Long durations between ordering and receiving food because there was no one managing the griddled. Ordered eggs Bennie with hashbrowns. Hashbrowns were ice cold. And eggs were warm but topped of with a cold watered down hollandaise sauce. Food didn't even deserve a picture. Should have known to order pancakes and French toast when thats what everyone else ordered in the small environment. Waitress never asked how the meal was and forgot to give us our check when she was only managing 2 tables... but had plenty of time for a cigarette break. The only good thing was the coffee. My wife and I (from Tennessee) were in New England for one week in early October 2014. On our way back to Manchester NH Airport were ran across Gourmet Bites Catering and Cafe at 184 North Broadway in Salem, NH. At 1 p.m., my wife ordered breakfast (offered all day) and I ordered a turkey and swiss cheese and apple-slice panini sandwich with pasta salad as a side. The scrambled eggs was mixed with spinach and came with a choice of bread (wife chose challa (spelling?) and fresh fruit salad. The first thing my wife noticed was that the mandarine orange in the salad was a freshly-pealed fruit (not canned). We asked our server, Jennifer, about it and she said the salad was, indeed, made with mixed fruit when it was ordered. Then Vanessa, one of the owners came to our table and confirmed that she, herself, had made our meals and, yes, the fruit salad had been individually-made with blueberries, grapes, bananas, mandarine orange (and I forget what else). My panini sandwich was wonderful. Same for the pasta salad. I hope we can come back to New England soon and we will certainly stop at Gourmet Bites when we get near the Manchester Airport. read more

Went for breakfast yesterday morning and was very pleasantly surprised. We had an amazing breakfast. Everything is homemade by the owner Rosie. Highly recommend the eggs Benny with homemade, when you orde,r hollandaise sauce. The blueberry pancakes were made with fresh blueberries and were the fluffiest pancakes I have had in a restaurant.
