Beautiful vineyard! Great outdoor and indoor seating options, so if it's a rainy day you can still come! We also walked around the vineyard area which was very nice and great for photos. Came with a large group and some of us got the wine flights, a glass of wine, or the wine slushies. The slushies were the hit! These were so fun and tasted great. We also stopped at the food truck which was great for a small bite to eat at our table. You can bring your own food as well which is great to know for next time! One of me and my husband's favourite vineyards. It has some of the most amazing views of mountains, sunset, a lake, ample amount of outdoor seating, great selection of drinks. They have our favourite wine as well, it is semi-sweet sunset red. Their dessert wine is also delicious. We do come here every year to get a 12-bottle box for ourselves. Lately, they have more options like slushies, sangria and beer. So I can't imagine any reason for not bringing friends and family here even if they are not a fan of wine. This "winery" is in a lovely location on top of a hill overlooking Wallingford. The space is open with plenty of outside seating. The place is filled with people who bring Tupperware full of food and camp out for hours. You must buy wine to be legal, but it can be one bottler for six for two hours of table time. However, the wine is dreadful. So go for the ambiance. Just bring food and don't expect much. read more

We visited on a Tuesday morning, it was a little cool and breezy, so we sat inside. There were a few other parties inside, but it was not busy. We each ordered a flight, normally the flight comes with a souvenir glass but they were out when we visited so the employee took a couple dollars off our flight. The normal price for a flight is $15 and $20 for the dessert wine tasting. My flight included 2 whites and 3 reds, I enjoyed them all but the pours were extremely small. If you don't want a flight a glass of wine is $10. You can bring food to enjoy with your wine. The scenery is beautiful, great for photo ops. read more

The place is just beautiful, and after ordering wine and a slushy, we chose to sit outside at the limited picnic tables on the lawn. taking in the view which are almost perfect. There were also plenty of picnic tables on the back deck. Breathtaking view of western mountains. The slushy was $12, which I thought was way overpriced, and I had a glass of wine. I think that was like $12-$14, good but not great. I had a red wine. And this Saturday afternoon no food was available until a food truck arrived later on about 2 PM. That's a disappointment. All in all, it was an interesting experience. I don't think I'd come back - way too much money spent for two glasses of wine and two slushys I think the right way to attend this place would be to bring a picnic lunch, which we did not do. Went to this winery to celebrate my girlfriends 50th bday which turned out to be a rainy afternoon. Perfect place for groups as it has a large area inside to entertain. Just have to get there early to grab a table as it fills up quickly. I would like to go again on a beautiful sunny day and earlier in the month of September to be able to walk around the vineyard before they harvest the grapes. There's a large amount of acres and they have Portuguese wine. You can bring your own food in and purchase bottles of wine that range around $35-40 dollars depending on what you like. They have white, red and a rose wines. There's also sampling of 5 wines for $15 and you receive a Souvenir wine glass. They also have bottles of water you can purchase as well. They also have a food truck that was there if you want other food. They accommodate everyone and gets very crowded so be prepared. read more

Came here to meet some coworkers for our version of friendsgiving. Food, wine and good people?! Yes please. We were around 15 in our group and we were able to get a few table together and sit all together. I tried their Rosé and I really enjoyed a few glasses while having awesome conversations and great shareable foods. It was a chilly fall evening so we were mostly inside. Hey, beautiful hilltop location with friendly staff, and a warm and inviting space. The winds roll, tasty, with plenty of space to sit and enjoy them for a longer stay. We were partial to the Cab Sauvignon and the Vinho Tinto, but I highly recommend doing at least a couple of wine flights. There were easily a half dozen different wines we could've purchased. Gouveia Vineyards is an excellent winery that is close to where I live. My wife and I love their wines. We visited a couple of times when we first started dating, but had not been there since. We stopped by for a visit today. We are both teachers and are off on Spring Break. Our son is still in daycare, so we decided to have a nice winery afternoon to ourselves. We went on a Wednesday and there weren't too many people there. The weather was excellent and the scenery around the vineyard is breathtaking. We each ordered wine flights and sampled about a dozen wines between the two of us. Everything was delicious! We brought some food with us (cheese, crackers, hummus, Buffalo chicken dip, fruit) and made our own charcuterie board to pair with the wines. While we were sampling the wines, we felt that each wine was more delicious than the previous wine. We ended up taking home a bottle of our favorite: Chocolate Epiphany Reserve. Although we love bringing our son with us everywhere, we are glad that he was at daycare for this particular outing. The vineyard is not an appropriate place to bring children. We saw some other families bringing kids along, and the children were getting bored and rambunctious. Going to a winery like this isn't fun if you have to chase after your children. We definitely plan on returning to Gouveia more in the future. They also own a great restaurant in town: The Library Wine Bar & Bistro. It's housed inside a historic old library building, and they pair up their wines with deliciously crafted Mediterranean dishes. We also highly recommend the restaurant. read more

We came here for a birthday celebration for my neighbor and friend. My first time here and it is worth a visit. It is a nice size and seems more suited for group visits. It has two indoor seating areas with a bar on each side. They have their own wines and there are options such as a taster flight of wines. There is not much in the way of food, they sell cheese (I didn't get a chance to see if they made it or not), they had a good truck on the premises today. It seemed that most patrons brought their own food and snacks. They had live music and it was a good time overall. There are plenty of outdoor seating and beautiful views, and there were gas fire pits on the deck. I hope to visit again, maybe when it's a little warmer. This was my first time coming here, for my birthday for the CT Winter Wine Trail. I absolutely enjoyed my time here tasting 10 wines with my mother (she had 5 and I had 5) I ended up liking a lot of them compared to another place I went to prior to this one where I only liked two wines. Here I liked most of the whites and surprisingly a rose! I ended up buying a bottle to take home of the rose as they make their sangria with it and I am a sucker for a good sangria. Service was good and prompt. Everyone was friendly. I got carded so it's nice to know even though I'm 28 Overall vibe was rustic and I love that. Out in the country with exceptional views, ample indoor and outdoor seating and just a beautiful atmosphere overall. Wow- a VIBE to say the least. From the moment I walked in I was obsessed. Dawn and Elena (bartenders) are the real mvp's. They make working the bar while madness is happening look easy. This place gets PACKED and they are so patient/accommodating and always have a smile on their faces. I give this vineyard 5 stars primarily for its location, views, and the good energy in the air. My friend and I came here grieving the lost of a family member and needed a different atmosphere. Gouveia Vineyards was the best decision. Things to note: * They still arent providing wine tastings in the traditional sense, but they have a good interim plan. You can select 5 wines to taste for $15; this also includes a souvenir wine glass. *You can bring your dogs but know that they are restricted to the grounds (grass areas). They are not allowed on the patio. This makes perfect sense when you see the property. * They have indoor seating, elevated patio seating, and seating on the grounds. They have fire pits, large umbrellas for sunny days, and spaced out seating to allow for distancing. Pros: * 360 degree views. The environment is so peaceful and picturesque. We sat in Adirondack chairs, sipping wine, and watching the sun go down over God's creation. * Hours of operation. I was surprised to see a vineyard open on a Monday until 8pm. * The staff members' knowledge was valuable in selecting our taste choice. * My favorite wine was the Whirlwind Semi Sweet Rose. Can bring food...which is terrific. Large parking area so that isn't a concern and I've been there before when there is a sun set and its a great viewing point Cons - bees were everywhere as we sat to feast. We went late October. The calmness was a bit over ridden by the constant fear of being bit. Prices of the wines have slide up to a high point , not crazy as some of the near by vineyards are in the 30 dollar range too... their lowest I recall was 23 now. I bought 6 bottles after our sit down one, and wanted a small taste to ensure the selections made sense, the owner made me feel terrible for getting multiple tastes and communicated several times that it was what I should purchase as a tasting. I get it , rules are rules... but when you are purchasing 7 bottles of wine at 25 to 30 dollars each ... maybe allowing tastes is better off in the long run as a business model. read more

This venue and winery has the best outdoor setting and view. There is a patio with chairs, but there is also a large lawn, where patrons can bring dogs, games, and chairs/blankets and enjoy the day. The indoor seating is more limited but still easily sits dozens, which also makes it somewhat noisy. Hands down, I prefer the outdoor summer environment. The wine itself is ok. The Cayuga white is my favorite, but I do find that some of the other wines have very similar flavors. I do not believe there is much by way of food service. You can purchase a cheese board or other small snack option, but outdoor food is welcome (and I encourage it). My friends and I have done everything from subs to pizzas to all you can snack. We have celebrated birthdays, bridal showers, and TGIFs here. I highly recommend making this stop along the CT wine trail. With a little planning, you can bring chairs, games, snacks, and an insulated cup, which really adds to the experience. I look forward to my next visit as the weather continues to warm up! read more

Lots of parking and seating both indoors and outdoors. They're currently doing construction so if sitting outdoors it's not the most scenic/enjoyable atmosphere. They're practicing health and safety by closing the indoor area, marking off exits/entrances and wearing masks. They're currently not doing tastings so we purchased a bottle of the dry white. The woman working was friendly and made a wine suggestion which we ended up enjoying. Beautiful area but I will have to visit again when there isn't construction to get a better feel. read more

In the midst of a quarantine I was open to any and all suggestions to get out of the house and actually do something that was fun and safe! After hearing about Gouveia from a friend after their recent visit I decided to take a day trip with my boyfriend to check it out. It is tucked back on a country road in what appears to be the middle of the woods. After a windy path it opens up to the vineyard and an amazing view! The winery itself it large, although we could only walk through to grab some wine and head out to the porch it would be great for groups and a day adventure in normal circumstances! They asked you use hand sanitizer upon entering and that you wear a mask unless sitting. No wine tastings unfortunately so you have to dive head first into a glass or bottle. The prices are super reasonable though so anything over three people, let's be honest go for the bottle! I would give the wine 3/5 stars and the location and amenities 4/5. The wine wasn't my favorite but not terrible by any means. We opted for glasses of the oak and steel chardonnay and a glass of the stone house red. The steel chardonnay was incredibly light for me and was lacking a lot of flavor from a chardonnay in my opinion. The oak aged was much better and tasted a true oak aged chardonnay, rich and buttery texture. The glass of red was a red blend, reminiscent of your average table red wine at a local restaurant. All were well enjoyed on their huge deck. It's great you are able to bring your own food and camp our for the afternoon with a glass or bottle or two of wine. If you are in the area I would definitely suggest you spend a nice relaxing afternoon there. read more

I'm so happy I finally got a chance to come here! This vineyard is so popular on Instagram and basically all social media because of the great atmosphere and scenic view. It definitely lived up to the hype- this place is GORGEOUS! My friends and I did not do a tasting (it was packed any way which was a little bit of a turn off) so we opted to get a few glasses. I asked for recommendations and our server said we can have 1 complementary tasting to help make our decisions which was nice. One of my friends got a glass of their sangria which looked amazing- they use their rose as the base and loaded it with boozy soaked fruit! My other friend got their Pinot Grigio which she also raved about as well! I tried two reds- one was way too sweet for my liking but I went with the Stonehouse Red which honestly was my favorite of our wine travels! It was a blend of all my favorites- Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Zinfandel-so good! My only drawback is the prices seem a little steep for the amount of wine you receive but it's quality and the views are great so it makes sense. There is plenty of seating room outside and the scenic view is just absolutely gorgeous. There were so many people taking pictures because it is THAT pretty!
