Gowda is a hard man and not kind in any way, even TWO members of his staff said so. He overbooks appointments for $$ and won't spend time with you. I got confused because he talks so fast and then he got mad at me for misunderstanding. He had no intention of actually helping me. There are only 2 members of staff that were kind. Dr. Gowda also prescribed two medication's without explaining what they were or what they did (and he got quite mad when I asked )and apparently one of them needs routine blood work when you're supposed to be on it which he said nothing about, which can be dangerous. To get rid of me and stop me complaining, he sent me to a drug rehab place which I am not addicted to anything and called it a higher level of care. According to the staff, he sends a lot of people here he doesn't want to deal with .This man is a monster and anyone else who wants to join me in a class lawsuit please contact me. read more

I've never met a less professional Psychiatrist or doctor of any kind. I don't understand how he's still practicing. Extremely rude, when psychiatrists are meant to help this doctor most certainly harms. read more

Dr Gowda gave me my life back. I started seeing Dr G during COVID when my other psychiatrist stopped seeing people. I have never met a more caring doctor. I have been looking for help with my depression since my early twenties I am now in my late fifties. Dr G listen to me and we decided to try TMS. I found relief from my depression and anxiety finally. He and his staff are always there to help and support me in my struggle and journey. Dr G found me a great therapist and now we all work together and I am finally able to work through the challenges in my life. Dr Gowda saved my life and is the most amazing caring man that you would ever want to meet. he truly car about his patients. read more

Michael Kaplan was my assigned therapist thru Dr Gowda's office. He no call-no showed my 2nd appointment with him. Basically as unprofessional as it gets. they made sure to charge me my copay though! just bad. read more

I came to this office when my own meds weren't doing enough for my breakthrough depression/anxiety due to my chronic illnesses. Not only did we add in another small medication to help me but I did TMS therapy which changed everything for me. You sit for 20 min. with the vibrating helmet that goes up in intensity over time; Without needing to switch medications, TMS got me over my slump and I even came back for some sessions after having major surgery. It basically lifts the black cloud hovering. The staff is always super kind and attentive to my needs. read more

The office is loud w/ the tv blaring at full volume. When you ask to turn it down, they refuse, saying it has to stay at full volume, but that I could sit in the hallway. Why would a Dr's office need the volume so loud? What are they hiding in the back? What is Dr G doing w/ patients that needs a concert in the waiting room so that no one is the wiser? Upon the few sessions w/ Dr Gowda, he told me I may or may not be able to continue my current medication b/c it's an amphetamine. B/c I have ADHD and I'm taking certain medications, Dr Gowda made me feel like a drug addict trying to score a hit. I know my own body and have taken many medicines (non amphetamines too) to know exactly what works best for me. Dr. G has ZERO patient skills & I believe this doctor should be examined by the NJ Medical Board for shady practices. I did call my insurance company and explained the current situation and that I was reporting Dr G to the NJ Medical Board. read more

I had been fighting with anxiety and depression for a good 40 or more years. I have been from doctor to doctor , medication to medication with no relief. I was skeptical about the TMS treatment at first, but then after just a few treatments I began to see a difference. Dr. Gowda should not be practicing in the field of psychiatry. Aside from his condescending attitude and his incessant eating during appointments with clients, he does not do what is best for, or even necessary for his clients. I just moved to the area with my husband who is transitioning to the FAA after serving 10 years in the US Navy. I have been on the same medication for 6 years and have had successful treatment for adult ADD with this medication. On my initial visit, Dr. Gowda told me that I did not have ADD, that it was a belief. This statement was made based on. ...? He did not evaluate me, but made a decision based on a 3 minute conversation with him. He then said he would not continue the medication management plan that I had been on for 6 years because he did not believe I had ADD... (why? Because I had been successful in school and my career for the past 6 years? Surely a successful woman couldn't have ADD...) I explained to him that I had been evaluated by psychiatrists several times throughout the history of my treatment, and with the help of the medication, I was able to function on a normal level. If he were to cut off my medication, my overall state of being would suffer severely. If you've ever been on a medication for years and have gone a day without it, especially ADD medication, you know that the withdrawal effects are quite debilitating for an extended time. I am a 30 year old elementary school teacher, but he continually insinuated that I was using drugs (specifically pain medication and marijuana). After much convincing, extreme condescension from Gowda, and a drug test, he agreed to give me month of medication. I was grateful until I went to get it filled and it turned out to be a quarter of my original dosage, and it was extended release. Feeling desperate and overwhelmed, I decided to try it. Immediately, my physiology wasn't tolerating this medication. When I called Gowda, his response was, "there is nothing I am going to do". I called the office and informed them that I would be reporting Gowda to the NJ Health Department. *see Google for more comments. read more

After years of multiple doctors and the same results I can finally say that I finally found a doctor who genuinely cares and actually understands me. Instead of just taking my copay and loading me up on medication Dr.Gowda took time to listen to me and understand exactly what my everyday life is like. He took time to review my history and the meds I took with no results and was the one to address the fact that my prior doctor had me over medicated. He worked with me to get me on a lower dose (my meds are all non narcotic, strictly mood stabilizers and an antidepressant)that was effective and therapeutic. We discuss all issues and concerns every visit. We have tried some of the newer medications and when I couldn't get past the side effects of one of them I contacted the office and asked for my discontinued medication to be called back in. Most doctors would have just called it in but Dr.Gowda called me back within ten minutes of my call to find out exactly what I experiencing and how I was feeling. I can't imagine how life would be for me had I not met Dr.Gowda. And an added bonus is all of his staff are absolutely amazing and just as caring. I'm blessed to say I have a doctor who genuinely cares about my well being and not quick to just write prescriptions and send you on your way. read more
