How dare I express frustration at not knowing what's going on and not getting feedback. How dare I be human with human feelings and cause poor Shannon such grievance! Gallery brothers came out told me they were going to give me a free estimate I decided not to use them and they sent me a bill for $278.78 the invoice actually has no description of any work performed. When I spoke to their office and then to somebody in management they lied to me I would highly recommend not using these people they're shady. read more

Awesome staff and service. We fried our dimmer switch for our dining room fixture and the thus had no power to the front of our house. Everyone else in town was booked for months. After I had two different handymen not show up at all for their scheduled appointments, and based on a recommendation I received on FB, I called Gowdy Bros. Although they were also booked for months, they were able to squeeze us in between appointments, which no one else even offered to do. Nick was so friendly and very helpful!! I'm giving Gowdy 2 stars for hooking up our hot tub. Here's why: + Quality of work that Nick performed was great. + He was on time and very professional. Why I'm knocking them three stars: - 1 for having to follow up multiple times to get an appointment after Ginger said she'd contact me with their availability (took 6 weeks from initial contact to booking). - 1 for Ginger miscalculating our materials cost. They originally billed us for $500 as "1 Material" - when I asked for an itemized breakout, she realized she did her math wrong - a $150 mistake! Good thing I asked... - 1 for feeling like they pulled a fast one on us. The house had a breaker ready less than 10 feet from the hot tub and we were charged for 200-feet of wiring and 6.5 hours of work. I've talked to multiple people who are familiar with this type of work and they all feel like we got hosed here. read more

They installed an electrical link between a panel on our old house and the shop in the middle 90s. It was #2 Al wire that they 'buried' about an inch beneath the surface. No pvc! Plain, non direct burial cable. And ran it across a gravel driveway. I was not living here at the time. It continues to fail about once/year. It has our well, new shop and some outbuildings on it. It failed yet again 2 days ago so we are going to replace it with the same type wire but it will be in schedule 80 pvc all the way in a ditch. Disappointed in Gowdy Bros. read more

Melinda on the phone was thorough gathering information regarding the items I needed taken care of. The electrician, Nick, was extremely professional and knowledgeable. We had to have our outside meter box panel replaced which required coordinating with Pacific Power and the city of Bend. There was a misunderstanding in how Pacific Power schedules their appointments, but Gowdy Bros accepted responsibility for that. Their electrician, Nick, is very knowledgeable and we both feel confident with the work he did. The rate was fair and we will be using them again soon for some interior work. I should also add that we did not have to wait the minimum 2-3 months that many seem to for an electrician. They are very responsive. :-) read more

I called every Electrician I could think of in Central Oregon, all of them were 3 weeks to a month out to set an appointment (including Gowdy Bros). I had a leaking water heater and couldn't wait that long. Gowdy Bros was the only company to find a way to get an electrician out in 3 days, the same day as my plumber. While they were just as busy as all the other electricians, they made it happen. Not to mention. Terry the electrician was extremely professional and didn't waste a minute putting in the needed junction box and getting the new water-heater powered up. Gowdy is at the top of my list and I would highly recommend them to anyone in Central Oregon. Thanks again Gowdy Bros. My husband went into the office to schedule an appointment and was told by the person at the front desk, she would give contact information to scheduler for a call back. Two days later, we had not heard back from the office so we stopped in again. We were told it was still on the schedulers desk and would hear that day from her. NEVER happened! Two small projects in the last 3 months - extremely pleased with cost, response and professionalism. Would recommend to anyone.

Used Gowdy bros to wire my hot tube. said their labor rate was $85./hr. However they don't tell you they add 1/2 hour to their labor time as shop policy. So their labor rate is not 85 per hr. The elect for my job finished in 1hr50min. they rounded up to 2 hours then added another 1/2 labor for a total of 21/2 hours. There justification is that is shop policy.Never had any other contractor add labor time without good reason. ASK before you comit.. read more
