He gave me a fair, transparent price and treated me with absolute professionalism. What really stood out, though, was the integrity of Bill and his team. After I left the store, one of his staff caught a mistake in my math that had shorted me $200. Bill personally called me right away, explained the error, and offered to stay late or mail the difference--whichever was easiest for me. That kind of honesty and customer service is rare these days. After getting two very high estimates on fixing my watch, I took it here and was given a cost of $80 to fix it, (See the written invoice which states-fix Movado watch) which relative to the others, seemed reasonable. Not an estimate mind you. He told me it would be 2-3 weeks because he had to send it out. This was on 3/13. On 3/ 27, two weeks later, he called and I expected it was to pick up my watch. It wasn't. It was to say that it was now going to cost $175-more than twice what he told me it was going to cost. (I previously shared with him the two other estimates I got and my guess is he realized there was an opportunity to leverage this. ) I was so annoyed that here I had given him a great review, because when I went in he was complaining about other bad reviews, and this was the thanks I got. When I went in to discuss this with him, he noted that he can't control outside vendor's timelines-agreed-but he is responsible for communicating a change to the original timeline and providing an explanation about why he wasn't honoring the written price he gave me to fix it. My guess is that my watch never left the Tinley Park store. I have lots of jewelry that needs to be maintained but I am done with this place. Suffice to say the watch is not getting fixed.

They should take the Draped Bust off the door because you might be able to sell one there but you won't be buying one there.

I was asked to help sell the crown and I first tried the mail in service who I sold a bunch of old silver forks and stuff to, but the price they offered was nowhere close to the market rate for the gold. So I got it back and took it to A to Z, remembering they're a pawn shop not just a store. The service was friendly like always. I handed over the crown and wandered around while he weighed and tested it to determine purity. When they had an offer ready for me it was a lot better than the other place and closer to what I was expecting. We made the deal and I got paid in cash. My loved one was happy and so was I with the fair business conducted here. And like I mentioned in my older review, they have some cool merch in their store and the prices are fair.
