Without question, this is still the best movie theater in the Lafayette area. I'm still a huge fan of the comfy reclining seats and the popcorn. I recently visited during Wicked's opening weekend and it was a blast. I bought a ticket in advance for this screening, which was a breeze. The staff member who scanned my ticket was so kind and excited for me to see the movie--he gave it a rave review and I agree! It was so great to see a nice crowd at the movies again. read more

Wow. I was very disappointed in the condition of this theater. I haven't been to a movie for about a year, and maybe I've never been in the particular room that we were in today, but it was pretty gross. When we got to our seats so we had purchased online, one of the tray tables was broken, so we had to move down a couple seats. Fortunately no one had purchased those seats. The arms of all the chairs that I could see were completely worn. There was a dirty napkin in the seat I first sat down in. The floor was incredibly sticky. This place needs a thorough cleaning on a regular basis, and many of the chairs need to be repaired or replaced. read more

Came today to see the re-release Titanic in 3D. The ticket purchase was easy as it always is. When Eastside 10 reopened a couple of years ago they added and advertised a bar being available. I have enjoyed a beer here before while enjoying a movie. I asked the cashier when the bar opens and she said that she didn't know and said, "Probably later.". I asked if there was someone that would know when and she said, "Probably my manager,". I then said, "Is the manager here?". She replied, "She is dealing with the Pepsi guy.". I had 20 minutes for the movie so I knew I could wait. I used the restroom and then let the cashier know that I would check in with the manager in a little bit. The employee pointed to someone standing in front of her and said , "this is the manager.". The manager barely turned around and said ,"it opens at Noon". I get it.....it's 10am but I am not the one who advertises the ability to have a beer with a movie. I felt by asking questions I was being a nuisance. The lobby was completely empty so it is not as if they were too busy to be bothered by me. Once I got into the theater, I noticed that even though it is a 10:00 a.m. showing, the theater is not completely clean. There is popcorn particles on the seats and on the floor. We went with a group to see Barbie tonight -- it was really fun. Sometime about 45 minutes before the show almost all of the seats started saying they were all sold. Our group of six which got there 20 minutes before showtime had to choose from the mostly awful seats that remained. And we were all forced to sit separately. When the film began and all through it there were no more than 1/4 of the seats filled! What is up with that? In the future we will just buy whatever awful seats there are and go inside and sit where ever we want. If anybody can tell me what is up with this I would be thankful. This might be the most luxurious movie Theatre in the Lafayette Area. You are greeted with a large lobby with nice employees. The overbearing essence of Popcorn is effusive in the exquisite intricacies of the Theater lobby. I visited to watch Sing 2, and was very impressed. The seats had controls for whatever position you prefer, while not impeding the paths of others. This place is almost flawless. The only issues I have with Eastside 10 are that there were several cleaning errors throughput the establishment. The other issue was that the concessions were absurdly expensive. We've been coming here since my daughter was 4 and she's 13 now. So many good memories made here! So many good movies (except fast 10). Staff is always friendly and welcoming. Popcorn is always good and 9/10 times the theater is spotless. I know it's only one of two theaters in town but it's hand down the best theater I've been too and I'm from Chicago! Reclining seats are nice but IMAX does not have reclining seat option. Some employees are polite, helpful but most are cold, impersonal, and you're made to feel like a bother, rather than a paying customer. This is a nice movie theater to come and enjoy with friends and family. Like all theaters, snacks are over priced and the floor is sticky. However, the seats here are really nice, leather recliners that have little trays and cup holders. Pro tip: the first two rows are really too close to be comfortable. read more

Not one of the best theaters I've gone to. At least today the floor was dirty and the bathroom too - one of the stalls is missing a lock which was weird. and I saw two movies in imax and the screen appeared to have some damage to it - there was a speck on it it a super immersive imax theater room either. The prices are tolerable - you get a lot for what you pay for and it is what keeps the cinema operating so I won't complain about that. Sound system in the imax theater is normal, nothing fancy. Regular screening rooms can be super cramped and small. Also NO RECLINERS which is unfortunate. The Xscape is a lot better. read more

This theater has recently undergone improvements, and as a result, it will now be the theater I exclusively go to in Lafayette. Closed for quite a while, Eastside 10 has reopened as a modern, relatively upscale theater. This theater is now more in line with what you would expect from a big city theater, including reclining leather seats and a bar. The leather reclining seats, of course, are the major appeal. If you haven't been to a theater with this type of amenity before, you will never want to go anywhere lacking it again. The seats recline with electronic control and prop up a footrest. You can almost be completely horizontal if you desire. This works for many reasons. First, obviously it allows for increased comfort. And boy is it so much better than a traditional theater seat. But it also means every seat is a good seat in terms of location. Stuck in the front? No problem. Lay the seat back and enjoy the show. One change is that you do now need to reserve seats. But assuming it's not super packed, it's not a huge deal if you don't do it in advance. Definitely do so though when in a group. There's an IMAX coming soon. I'll update my review when that is done. I'll also upload some pictures of the renovation. (Didn't get the chance to take any when we went.) In my opinion, this is now the theater to go to in Lafayette! read more

Love the re-model. Seats are comfy and roomy. Has brought me back to the theater for sure. However, I was there last Saturday though and it was a complete wreck. Trash and popcorn everywhere, bathroom was dirty and no paper towels or soap. I know it was spring break and perhaps they were short handed, but Wow. It looked like World War III. To have the nice new remodeling efforts covered in debris was a disappointment to say the least. read more

My daughter and I just came from a matinee showing here and I thought this theatre was the nicest one I have ever been in. We were in theatre 2 and the chairs were incredibly comfortable-- soft padded leather, and, at the press of a button, the front slides out and the rear reclines. There is also a tray that is large enough to hold your popcorn so you don't have to juggle it on your lap. The picture quality was excellent and it didn't look to me like there was a bad seat in the house. The restroom was modern and spotlessly clean; I hope it stays that way during the day (we were at one of the earliest showings). My one, relatively mild, criticism: it would have been nice to have a restroom on each side of the theatre. Apparently you have to order and reserve your seats in advance, even though there seemed to be only a handful of people in the theatre for our showing. My daughter took care of these details so I can't comment on the convenience of this process. I can't go to a movie without eating popcorn, and it was pretty good here. The medium sized popcorn was more than ample for one person, but it did seem a bit stingy to charge 50 cents extra for butter, especially since there didn't seem to be all that much of it. On the other hand, they offer refills for 50 cents as well; I was planning to get one but found myself full. One tip: sign up before you go for their loyalty club. If you allow at least 24 hours you apparently get a coupon for a free popcorn, and on future visits you get 15% off concession prices. read more

The recliner seats are nice. The swivel table is nice. The fact that they don't have an online ticket pickup kiosk really sucks. One time they say you have to pick up the tickets at the counter, next time they say to just walk right in and skip the desk. Signs would help. First time at this theatre. We went for a kids morning movie on Sunday morning. Kids movies are offered in the morning on certain weekends and with a discount too. Become a member with the app GQT it's free. You can earn rewards too. My kids were laughing and talking about how much they enjoyed the movie. Had a somewhat unpleasant experience but management handled it professionally and promptly and therefore, I will be back. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We bought our tickets at the concession stand. Part of the Goodrich Qualtiy Theaters chain, love the $0.50 popcorn and free drink refills! They have a frequent movie goer rewards card with simple "points for rewards". Ex 1 movie ticket = 1 point, 3 points = free 20oz drink. I like that type of simplicity and transparency. read more

Nothing groundbreaking to add about this theater, it's a small 9 screen theater with all the same perks of any given Goodrich theater. Free drink refills, 50 cent popcorn refills (no matter the size) and stadium seating. The only thing to note is that there are *serious* speed bumps on either entrance to the parking lot, whether you're coming from Farabee or from 36th Street, so don't be trying any Fast and Furious moves after you've just taken in your action movies. read more

Eastside 9 is the oldest movie theater in town, but it has been kept updated with latest sound and projection technology. It used to be Eastside 10, but they combined two theaters to provide stadium seating; the rest have conventional seating. The price of tickets are the lowest in town. Wabash Landing, which is closer to the Purdue campus, has higher ticket prices in spite of the fact that all theaters in town have the same owner. The snack bar here is reasonably fast, and the theaters are kept clean. I haven't had a bad experience here. read more

The movie pictures at Eastside 9 are great just like all of the others in Lafayette. I like the small theaters because of their coziness. The service however is quite slow. I've waited as long as 10 minutes in a line with only a few people standing in it. If you're going to see a movie and want refreshments along with it, try to get there with plenty of time to get your things. read more

Goodrich Quality Theatres have a monopoly in many small to moderate sized Midwestern cities which is unfortunate. I went to Eastside 9 with my father-in-law and 7 year old son tonight to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, a film which was released Thanksgiving weekend and is slated to end its holiday run tonight. Huh? Goodrich is not even taking advantage of the New Years Day extended weekend rush?! We got to the cinema about 15 minutes before the start of the 8:45 show and the manager said the shows were sold out by 2 pm. He said he couldn't do anything about the release schedule and said "there have been other new releases since this." What... Yogi Bear? The Tourist? Narnia? These are our choices? This is the biggest blockbuster of the Christmas 2010 season and it is ending after a 6 week run. I understand that it's not the high-school aged manager's fault, nor is it under the control of the cinema's manager. It most certainly is something that could be addressed by Goodrich Quality Theatres. There were at least a dozen other people that experienced our last minute disappointment. I guess I'll be traveling to Indianapolis an hour away tomorrow to give my money to AMC Castleton Square 14 where it is still playing. read more

This theater needs updated ASAP or should be converted to a 2nd run theater with a substantial reduction in ticket prices. My review in based on experience in theater 4 on Oct 22, 2016 - Paid $9.50 admission - The seats are very old with low backs. I sat down and seat went back to a near 45° angle. This is not ideal position for watching movies. Thinking it may just be that seat I moved to a new with same result. Appears all seats are like this. - Another review stated there were stadium seats, not sure what stadium she's been in but I would not consider this stadium seating. Normally stadium seating is steep with steps. This theater is a normal slight slop with seats. - Not being from Lafayette I'm not sure if there is a better, newer or updated theater in area but I certainly hope so. - Another reviewer mentioned going to Indianapolis to watch movies. A 1 hour drive is well worth it considering the price you pay for the theater experience. Theater is owned by Goodrich Quality Theaters (GQT). - The movies previews continued a number of references to GQT with Quality being stressed. Clearly they define quality much different than I do and expect. read more

HORABLE MANAGERS! HORABLE SERVICE! We waited 11 minutes in line for the 4pm show because the person who was in front of us slow as hell but the manager sat by her desk doing nothing to help like opening another register she just sat there! After three more sets of people came in behind us we all started waving at her to come help but she still didn't get up. It took me to make a loud noise to get her attention and still she looked at us with a who cares attitude! Finally she came to help but it took 11 minutes to do it! THEN....... getting our food what a joke!!! We walked up with no one in front of us and after the kid messed up our order the other Male manager voided the sale and just WALKED AWAY! Then the kid was like uuuuuuhhhhh what did you order again!!! I WAS PISSED OFF! We paid almost $100 to see the new Lion King at a 4pm show and waited in like over 20 minutes to get to it! Not a bad theater at all. The prices here are better than the other side of the river and yet it's still relatively close to campus. If you're a student, the sub-10 minute drive will save you money. They do offer a student discount here. Up until a year or two ago the theaters across town didn't offer a student discount so it made sense to come here. Although, the levee now offers a student discount, I think the tickets here are still cheaper. It's a good place to see a flick. I say go here rather than the one by campus. read more

Nice movie theater. The seats are not super comfortable but I like they way the seats are set up and the position of the screen. By the screen being a lot higher you won't get your view disturbed by anybody walking in front or you. The image quality and sound was not bad at all. Been brining my daughter here since she was 2 and she is now 8. NEVER a bad experience there at all. Staff is always friendly, theaters are always super clean and the sound is amazing. Seats could be a tad more comfortable but it just depends on the theater you are in. Theater 3 is great!! Like I said never a bad experience with the theater itself. However we have seen some dud of a movie there most recently that horrid Last Jedi. But my family and I simply love the theater and will continue to come there. read more

My husband and I went to see "Orphan" at this theater, typically we've seen movies that are in the newly remodeled rooms with the upgraded projectors. Orphan was playing in theater 4, a room we had not yet been into. When we walked in, a smell of musty air hit us, it was unpleasant. We noticed that the theater was set up in flat aisles (not stadium seating which is far better) with the screen positioned above the seats with the center of the screen lining up with the aisle seat on the right column. We sat down, and waited for the lights to dim, this did not happen. Through the previews the lights remained on on and the door to the room remained open. We realized when the first preview was on the screen, that the projector was not one of the new digital projectors, but an older manual projector which was very very loud. We could hear the typical projector noise which sounded quite amplified for some reason. The movie started, and the lights finally dimmed, the door remained open. For about 30 minutes, we watched the movie as the screen jumped, developed spots, even had a "melt" show up in a few frames. The door to the hallway finally shut, and the room was finally completely dark. It was only a moment later we heard people talking loudly (practically yelling) over the projector noise which was getting louder and louder. It was at this point the lights came back on and the movie stopped. My husband and I got up and walked out, we asked to speak to the manager. When she showed up, looking quite unprofessional I might add, she was rude and dismissive. She acted like it was no big deal our movie experience was shit, because we got our money back. She said (trying to talk over me, cutting me off from my complaint.) "Well we fixed the projector, you can go back in and finish the movie, I don't see what the big deal is." I told her if I am paying money to see a movie, in a theater where other rooms have digital projectors, I expect the same quality for every movie I see there. I informed her that most theaters, even smaller ones, have upgraded to digital projectors, and the crappy quality loud projectors that melt the film when the bulbs get hot like the one in theater 4 are unacceptable. She replied "It's expensive to upgrade, we have 9 theaters, most theaters still use that same projector." I tired of her dismissive attitude, her refusal to apologize and her insistence on making lame bullshit excuses, so I left promising her that I would review my experience online. I think the manager could have handled the situation better: 1. She could have offered an apology instead of excuses. 2. She could have offered a free ticket to another movie in another theater. 3. She shouldn't have rolled her eyes and tried to talk over me while I was making my very valid complaint. Even though we have had good experiences at this theater before, this very bad experience will prevent us from returning for any reason. Thumbs down to bad management. read more

As a lover of movies, I enjoy this theater (and the two others in the area- Lafayette 7 and Wabash Landing 9). The movie theaters are clean and I have never had a problem with other patrons being loud or obnoxious. There have been a couple movies where there were technical difficulties, but the problem was either fixed quickly or I was given a free ticket coupon for another visit. The customer service has always been nice, and the place is kept clean. There Frequent Movie-goers program allows you to earn points with each ticket and concessions purchase toward concessions. Between the three theaters, the Lafayette/West Lafayette area gets all of the recent movies that have come out nationally. This place is good for a date or a casual entertainment. They host special shows (ticket prices vary) through Fathom Events. For parents out there, they also have Free Fall Movies for children. If you are a frequent Movie-Goer member the tickets are free and they are a dollar per ticket for nonmembers. These movies aren't always the newest, but it is a fun thing to do for a couple hours on a Saturday. The movies only happen every other weekend so check their website for times and movies. read more
