What genius puts a movie theater right next to a Target. When I was shopping at target, I was in the need for numerous household products. I had to get toilet paper, tampons and soap. However, I was listening to these college kids talk next to me about getting snacks for the movie. I figured there was a movie theater nearby, so I looked it up and there it was. I went to see a romantic-comedy movie and had a great experience. The popcorn, the chairs, the movie, the temperature...all perfect. There were only two open seats, which made it a really fun atmosphere. There was room under my seats where I could put the stuff from Target. Note: The picture below is not actually from Kalamazoo 10. However, I thought I could post a picture of a theater that sort of resembles it. The screen is not always blank, the movie was shown when it was time.

You'd never think twice about going to the movies. But that is different with everything going on. After calling and getting all the protocol information. I felt confident and comfortable enough to go see a movie. That movie being none other than Mortal Kombat. Which yes I did enjoy very much! Not only was the ticket five bucks because of what day it was. I had a popcorn voucher ready to redeem. So that was awesome timing. Speaking of awesome timing, I choose to go to the movie early morning. So we literally had the theater to ourselves.

I like this theater's location, it is close to many good places (target, Applebee's, Walgreens, Starbucks, Macdonald,Ulta... Etc) you can always catch a movie and relax after doing some shopping or having a good meal. Economical choice though.

This was the place to be, but lately it's gotten so gross it's uncomfortable. I was so disappointed when we got into our theater only to find they never cleaned from previous movies. The bathrooms were equally as bad. If they don't clean up the place soon I won't be going back.

I love that this theater is only 10 minutes from my house, but it seems like every time I go here the sound is messed up!

As a college student it's great to find a theatre that isn't expensive but still offers a wonderful experience.

What was once a…read morerespected, community-focused venue has unfortunately declined--largely due to the behavior of its staff and ushers. The staff were rude and unprofessional, and shockingly unaccommodating toward children. This was especially upsetting given that we were attending a production specifically geared toward families and kids, Annie. Instead of being welcoming or patient, the usher we encountered was dismissive and unfriendly, making it very clear that children and teens are not truly welcome here. This venue is no longer family-friendly, despite advertising family-oriented productions. If you're bringing kids or teens, be prepared for an environment that feels rigid, uninviting, and uncomfortable. What makes this even more disappointing is my long history with the Civic. My family has donated large sums of money (we could have bought a couple homes with the amount we've donated) over the past 30 years because we believed in its mission and its role in the community. Sadly, after this experience, we will no longer be supporting it. The Civic is simply not what it once was. If you're looking for a welcoming, inclusive place to enjoy theater with your family, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Do not take your family to the Civic!

The museum wasn't busy when we were there, which was nice as we were able to leisurely wander the galleries. It's not a huge museum, but I loved the Kyungmi Shin: A Story to Finding Us exhibit (through May 12, 2024). The artworks were stunning and I loved trying to find hidden images in each. The other main exhibit was American Realism: Visions of America, 1900-1950, which didn't resonate with me personally as much, but it was still interesting to see. The permanent collection downstairs was nice - I especially liked the Tiffany lamps and jewelry. There is a Chihuly sculpture hanging in the entryway, which is really cool to see. The gift shop is nicely curated with lots of great books, gifts, and more. Nate got a cute little cat shaped ceramic chopstick rest!
