The second time she dropped us off on NE Harbor promising to pick us up for a return home but she never returned and told us to take a bus home via another city. my wife and I had to hitchhike home to SW Harbor. she said oh well and hung up! read more

This was the most disgusting taxi experience I've ever had in my entire life! The vehicle stunk, and I mean STUNK of urine and dog poop. Along with the dogs, I suspect the driver may have contributed in Large part to the overwhelming stench. Let's just say that hygiene is not her thing. The driver was rude and apparently a rabid Trump supporter and conspiracy theorist and she spewed her unsolicited opinions the whole time. Her dogs sit on the dashboard and run freely around the vehicle and there is hair and poop everywhere (hopefully only from the dogs). I needed a Long Hot Shower after that ride and threw my clothes in the wash immediately. I probably should've done a flea and lice check too. I give her one star for getting me to my destination alive, however my olfactory nerves will probably never recover. read more

GROSS!! We scheduled this cab for 10:30 and called when they didn't show up. We were told she would be there in 20 minutes. We got in the cab and it was all that we could do not to gag from the AWFUL smell of her vehicle. It smelled like dog urine was covering her vehicle. Where do I begin.... An extremely vile experience.... I love dogs and this driver had two with her, they were barking non stop and running circles up on the dash and distracting the driver and she was all over the road as well as speeding. I asked her to pls slow down but she couldn't hear me over the noise of her dogs barking. Then when we arrived at my destination she blamed me and my company with me for the dogs chaotic behavior. What?!?!?! There is a plexiglass barrier between her dogs and the passengers... So wow!!! She was rude and smelled of urine and the back of the cab had a dried up dog poop that somehow had rolled from the front of the van. Who gave this woman a license??? We made advance reservations for a 5pm pickup in BarHarbor. At 445, owner called to say she can't make it til 530, we said OK. At 530 she called to say she needed 10 more min. Well, she finally arrives at 5:55, for our 5pm. reservation. Ugh. Ok, were rolling with it... as we step into her van, we see two dogs in front seat. And, as the doors close, the entire van reeks of stale dog urine and body odor! Horrible! at this late hour we had no choice but to ride with her the entire 45 mi to Bangor. BUYER BEWARE! Arrived at Bar Harbor airport at 7PM on a Sunday, after rental counters had closed. Uber couldn't provide a driver, so I started working my way up the list of cabs posted in the airport. This lady was the only one who said she could pick us up. She does have 2 small dogs with her, and she is friendly and talkative with some, uh, interesting opinions. Very entertaining ride. Would call her again if I were in the same situation. But seriously -- arrive while the rental counters are open. read more

Do NOT use this service ever! Horrendous customer service. Weeks ago we agreed to be picked up at 9am today. At 8:40 the driver texted saying shes leaving at 8:40 on the dot to pick up other customers. When we called to say we'd be there at 9:00, per the agreement, she said "i never signed anything, theres no agreements in a city of 5,000 people, and early is late." She also decided not to pick us up at the airport when we arrived (per our agreement) because she was double-booked. Again, this arrangment was made weeks in advance. Horrific. Very shady. Had to take this cab after the Island Explorer didn't show up for its last scheduled trip. Informed that we had two bikes - one of which had a flat tire - when we scheduled our pick up. When the taxi arrived the driver didn't move/ was not helpful with bikes - how to put seats down, where to place, etc. Ended up having to put one of the two second row seats down which left only the seat behind the driver and the passenger seat open. When I asked to sit in the passenger seat she said no it was for her two dogs and that she didn't care if I sat squished and unbuckled between the bikes - which I actually had to do. Then shortly after leaving our pick up spot she proceeded to say "why didn't you bike home" which we replied "it's raining" (and one bike was unable to ride and it was also getting dark for a 15 mile ride) and she said "well you should've planned that out better" . Just a few examples of our terrible experience. Unfortunately, I do not know the area or other options for getting back to our location so we couldn't get out - which I would have in any other place that has Uber/ Lyft available. read more

We have used Paula's Grab A Cab VERY often (especially my son who lost his license for a few months a couple of years ago). She is very very reliable and a great conversationalist. Be ready to have to defend your point of view. She is NOT for the prissy-lady types from California (see above). As an aside, she picked up my daughter (a native Mainer) and her out-of-town friends from a local restaurant/bar one night two years ago. She asked how the night had gone and when my daughter replied that the bar owner had been very mean, disrespectful, and rude, Paula hoped out of the Cab and went in to give the owner a piece of her mind about how to treat people. I believe she did a good job of enlightening the owner. Highly recommend her. AND will defend her to the end - even though she's wrong about some politics. read more

The stench was overwhelming when the doors opened My husband said and I quote " this is like one of those Fabreeze commercials gone horribly wrong :(. The taxi was filthy!! They had 2 small wet smelly dogs roaming freely about the vehicle, sitting on the dash as we were driving on rainy windy roads. I am a dog lover but I was dreading one of them jumping in my lap! I felt very sorry for the dogs! I fear it will take several washings of my clothes and I have no idea how to get the smell out of my nasal cavities. How about a car wash and a some air freshener??? I have used this cab for many years and have come to know Paula, the owner pretty well. She has always been SUPER reliable, great in emergency's, and fair in price. She has a few small dogs which roam around the cab and love on everyone (a pleasant bonus for me personally). I will also say she is a pretty funny lady, she gives it to ya how it is, for sure! If you have been out drinking late you should call Paula, not only will she get you from point A to D (because you forgot you needed to make three stops on the way home) she will entertain you with her bold personality the whole way! read more

Don't look here. Are you looking for a dependable cab service that will pick you up when you need them to make your appointment? Again, do not look here! Had an incredible experience with Grab-A-Cab service tonight. I met the owner yesterday while at a gas station in Southwest Harbor. My wife and I were staying at a local campground in our motorhome but did not want to drive a 35' RV in to Bar Harbor for dinner. I asked the owner, Paula, if we could book a ride for the next night (tonight) for pick-up at the campground in SW Harbor at 5:30 pm, dropped off in Bar Harbor for dinner, then driven back after dinner. She said "sure", told me the date would be $35 each way and all was good. Tonight a very pleasant young woman named Emily picked us up promptly at 5:30, we had a lovely dinner at Pascone's, we called 30 minutes ahead as requested , got Paula's voicemail, and left the message that in 30 minutes we would be ready to go back. My wife and I walked outside in 30 minutes and called Paula just to get an update. She told me a taxi would be there in 40 more minutes. I said "oh I thought you said call 30 minutes ahead and you had a few vans around so that would be plenty of advance notice". She said "We have other fares you know and so if you can't wait 40 minutes then call another cab" and as she hung up I heard her say "what an ass....e". UNBELIEVABLE. Fortunately we tapped on Uber and a lovely woman named Janet drove us back. If I could have not hit any "stars" to complete this of course I would have Paula, if you are out there reading this, what a terribly rude and unprofessional thing to do.... read more

Where is 0 stars?????THE MOST UNRELIABLE CAB COMPANY IN MAINE We called the lady 1 day before and said "11 Federal Street 10:00 AM" We call her back at 10 AM when we're supposed to leave and she says "11 Federal Street 7PM" WHERE IS HER MEMORY????? So the cab comes..... 38 Minutes Late. We Miss Our Flight To Newark. We were gonna get home at around 7:30 PM ET to Jupiter. But instead there were no flights until the next morning to a big city that we can fly out of so we had to turn around and go to the bar harbor airport. Then The PenAir flight gets delayed by 1HR. We get to Boston, our layover. We have to sprint through the airport to get to our next flight to ATL. Then that flight gets delayed and we have to sprint in the ATL airport and Get to our final flight to PBI. And we get to the airport at 1AM and our bags are in Atlanta.The reason for that is because we barely got our flight and it was a full flight. We get home at 1:30 AM instead of 7:30 PM,And remember none of this would've happened if the Cab CAME ON TIME!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! read more
