I've been here twice. The employees are always super friendly and attentive. They always stop by your table and ask if you need anything despite it not being a restaurant style place. The first time I ordered 2 street tacos on corn tortilla. They are the mini sized tortillas not the regular so keep that in mind when ordering. They were very good and the salsa was just as good! I always go for the green salsa which has just the right amount of kick to it. The second time I got the personal ground beef nachos. This is a pretty big portion so you could probably share with someone! The only thing with this visit is that it was a busy time and the place is very small so seating is limited. Some people had to wait for others to finish in order for them to sit down. So this is something that needs to be worked on. read more

I'm from Los Angeles and the pickiest taco eater here in Houston. The taco options here are great and flavorful. I always get the Barbados tacos which are huge. And you can't go without trying the trash can nachos! A fun experience just to watch but also they are so damn delicious! I get the small order and it's enough to feed 4-5 people. I got my nachos fix here finally!!! By nachos I mean real nachos with chips piled and with melted cheese and not the ones where each chip is fixed for you individually. Really wanted to like it. Service was good, but I was not impressed with the food. I tried three different tacos (taco al pastor, chicken yucatan and the chicken adobo), and didn't care for any of them. I don't think that's ever happened! They were very Americanized, smothered in sauce and still pretty bland. Three tacos and a soda cost $13 - I'll probably keep my taco cravings to the taco trucks, taquerias and yes, Torchy's when I want Americanized tacos. I have only been here two times but both have been amazing. This last time, I ordered the chicken trash can nachos. Man, those things are loaded! They have lettuce, black beans, fresh jalapeños, refried beans, sour cream, diced tomatoes and onions and guacamole all over chips. Soooo good. On the menu it says they serve 1 to 2 people, but it's more like two people because the portion size is big. They serve Stubborn brand soda which has no HFCS. Yummy! A bit pricey for what you get, I ordered to-go so maybe the portions are larger if you dine in. The beef fajita tacos didn't have much flavor and the chicken was missing something as well. Quesadillas were good but a bit soggy, again, maybe because it sat in a to go box. Fish taco was nothing to write home about. Almost like a couple of fish sticks in a tortilla. We were nervous since it took longer than we expected for our food to come out but food was great and freshly made. We had trashcan nachos, a taco plate and some avocado rolls. It turned out to be way too much food, but it was all delicious. They're still pretty new so I think once they get into the groove of things maybe service will speed up. My recommendation would be to call in your order for pick up vs ordering there. Our first time visiting Grab and Go Tacos was within a few weeks of their opening. We had heard rumors that their prices were a little bit expensive, but the restaurant defended themselves in stating that they were proud of their Prime Beef offerings. We were not impressed the first visit at all. Not only did we wait 20 minutes to receive our to go order, the food was subpar at best & expensive! We gave the restaurant one more try several months later thinking things had gotten smoother, and still were not impressed. I've heard great things about their trash can nachos and some of the specialty dishes, but their advertisement for Grab and Go Tacos isn't always the case. There's generally a good wait time, and while they seem to be friendly and attentive, the tacos themselves are subpar. There are too many other taco shops in the area like Fuzzy's and Torchy's that have a wider variety and are quicker. If they want to compete in this market being family-owned, they are going to have to adjust their pricing. However.... I'm not against to giving them another chance either! We love to support our local owned businesses and maybe the kinks we experienced have been worked out? While they may not have the greatest tacos, I am curious about those trash can nachos! read more

I was on my way to Taco Bell and they said their credit card machine didn't work. Plan B, Go to Grab 'N Go, was 10X better than fast food. Took them 15 minutes to cook. I was looking for nachos, good nachos. Grab N Go came up in my quest. I saw pictures of the Trash Can Nachos here on Yelp and I was sold. It's a fast casual type of place so you order at the register and the food is then brought out to your table. I was initially dismayed to see that the nachos were $14.95, but thankfully, they have a 1/2 order for $9.99. The 1/2 order actually feeds 1-2 people so definitely had no business ordering the full size order anyway. If you are dining in, you also get a basket of chips and salsa! Wow! Carb overload! I like how the nachos are layered with all the different toppings inside of the "trash can" and kinda messily spread out on the platter after the trash can is lifted up and removed by the server. Great concept. The nachos are pretty good; although, I feel they were slightly lacking in flavor - could have used more salt and spice. And maybe a cheese sauce in addition to the shredded cheese. I brought my friends to the restaurant on Tuesday night. I had eaten here in the early summer and the food was great. Unfortunately the experience Tuesday night was not that good. The trash can nachos were very soggy. The quest and chips were okay. The chicken, beef and pork tacos were awful. The margaritas are nothing to write home about.. The owner is very pleasant but there appeared to be a problem in the kitchen. We ordered the half order of the trash can nachos but were presented with full can which is huge. The owner very nicely offered the full order to us at the half price. We waited quite a long time for the tacos and reminded 3 servers of our order multiple times. Okay so. I went here with my friends after my father convinced it was absolutely terrible. He told me the meat was fatty and the tacos were greasy. After going with my friends I found out that was in fact delicious. I got the diablo tacos, my friends got the cheese enchiladas and chicken taco salad.
