New Life Painting - Proof of how long he has been working on my home at the time we let him go.

    New Life Painting

We used New Life Painting aka Javier Cairo in October 2020 to paint the inside of our home. He…read moretold me four days and it took 3 1/2 weeks. I was happy with the work but not the timeline. We hired him again on April 15, 2021 for stucco repair and entire exterior painting of our home. He told me four days and said he would start the 21st and be finished by the 27th. I was happy with that because we we're scheduled to list our home for sale May 1, 2021. He started April 23, but was not finished with the work 33 days later so we let him go. It has cost us $6800 SO FAR to repair the work he did. WHY? First, he used different colored stucco in several different areas on our home. Then he rolled and sprayed the home in different areas. The home looked blotchy and in the areas of the different color stucco it looked terrible. Additionally, he texted me on three different occasions to pay for the paint which was included in the price because he left his wallet in the other truck, he had to pay someone in El Paso, etc. Then the paint didn't even show up at my house. I know now he had me pay for someone else's stuff because I called the paint store and it was primer. Last, he told me at one point he would be finished by 10am the next morning and wanted the rest of the money now. Thank God I said I had to see it finished first because Javier was no where near finished. He didn't show up the next day so I called two painting companies to come out. Both came and both, at different times, told me Javier was ruining my home. I immediately let him go and hired one of the companies to completely redo the paint job Because neither company would guarantee their work unless they redid it all due to how bad it was by Javier. Here's what I haven't told you yet which will cost me more money--- 1.) Javier dropped stucco in my new air conditioner (purchased Jan 2021) and I now have to get it professionally cleaned out because the stucco is on the fan and can put the fan off balance. so if I don't get it cleaned they can void warranty and my ac can break down. 2.) Javier broke 36 roofing field tiles and seven ridge tiles. I sent him pictures and have waited a week for him to drop off the tile material for our roofing company to fix. As you can see in pictures, he still hasn't dropped off paint, trim paint, or the tile. I have plenty of pictures, snapshots of all his text messages, and proof of who he is from my camera system (Which they broke one of them, too). I'm trying to get these to load on here. I would NOT recommend him For anyone to use. His number is (505) 974-2525. please look close at the pictures. He drives a white truck with trailer Attached. I hope this helps anyone else.

I loved what a great job they did with the sealing and painting. I wish I could leave a better…read morereview because that part was great. However, professionalism left a lot to be desired. The night before they were to start the job, I got a text at 10pm stating they'd need to push out a day. I understand that kind of thing happens, but it's bad form to text a client so late the night before. I had to follow up time and again regarding arrival times, etc. There was no proactive communication on their part. They also dumped over a gallon of paint in our front yard. We now have to throw away all of the rock in that area and spread more to make up for it. They also broke a decorative element. Even with all of the challenges, we're considering them for another job on our interior. We support small businesses and really appreciated the work they did. Just wish for more professionalism and concern for our home.

These are not necessarily in any order. No permit pulled…read more Not licensed for the electrical, gas, or ductwork he performed. Left a nail sticking out of the concrete where the old chimney was. Several no shows/no calls. Gave a quote of 250 to replace the door & ended up charging over $500. Scratched my laminate flooring. Spilled red paint all over my yard, didn't say a word about it, just left it a mess. Dumped extra paint into a hole dug into the yard. Didn't measure for my curtain rods accurately, so I ended up having to buy new ones. Screws, nails, pieces of brick left all over the yard (still finding nails) even though he said they cleaned up thoroughly. They either broke or stole a sprinkler. I had to finish all the final touchup work because he started his new job without finishing mine. Lost a screw when he replaced my doorbell. Didn't tell me about it & didn't replace it. Broke a screw in my new door, didn't tell me, didn't fix it, now I can't put a screw in it. Claimed he couldn't find the alarm wires from my old door so he could make sure the system in the new door would work-as SOON as a I walked outside, I found them sticking out of the old door. Started my job late, then moved on to his next job without finishing mine, even though he told me mine was a "priority". Had to buy paint to fix my door because he got red paint from the outside on the inside, which is a different color. The brickwork is uneven, with holes in the mud. Even though we had discussed his not coming into the house when I was not there, he later got an attitude about it, making it sound as though he was blaming ME for not getting the job finished sooner. Practically NO communication about plans, schedules, no-shows. Bid was for ENTIRE soffit/fascia, but he only did the back, claiming the rest didn't need it. Charged me the full bid anyway. French doors stick horribly now, and they didn't used to. One day, the code I set up for him to get into my garage didn't work. Instead of calling me or emailing me, he left, leaving my back gate wide open & unlocked. They knocked a brick loose and just left it. He claims 50% down, 50% when done. I made a total of SIX payments. They forgot to turn my water heater back on when they left, and I smelled gas all night. "Just a little leak, probably". Painted the ENTIRE brick instead of testing a section to see if I liked it. I don't like it and can't fix it (that is one of the things he was supposed to do before he decided to quit my job). I filed a complaint with the BBB, and his response was full of lies. I filed a complaint with the AG, which he never responded to. I took him to court and won, and he has YET to send me one red cent. I've probably left some stuff out, but that is what I have written down.
