We have all probably experienced horrible or subpar conditions at past dental appointments, but you will not experience even an ounce of that here! The welcome area is quite tiny but you won't be there long as they're very on schedule and see each client accordingly. Very well organized and high tech, everyone there is so kind. I especially have to shoutout my dental hygienist Jenny because she was extremely helpful and supportive with my needs and anxiety throughout my session. She's so caring and helped find so many ways to make me feel comfortable, never making me feel embarrassed. She gave me a thorough breakdown of how I can better my oral health and was so gentle when speaking to me. It's because of Jenny that I know I'll be a longterm client with Grace Dental! Today, I had a regular checkup and cleaning, My dental hygienist, Jennie, always pays attention to the details to clean my crowded teeth. Earlier this year, I needed to repair an implant cap. It would be much easier for them to make a new one, but Dr. Lee took extra steps to repair it since the new one would cost a lot more. He always thinks about the patients first. I came In after seeing the great reviews for this office. I'm a resident of Fillmore so this place is within walking distance. Everyone was friendly and the establishment was neat and clean. Sandy helped with the screening and cleaning , she was gentle, attentive and knowledgeable. I appreciated that. Afterwards I met with Dr.Chang and he was real easy to talk to. I scheduled my next appointment smoothly with Michael at the front desk for my wisdom teeth extraction . I'll be updating this post soon. I'm so glad I found Grace Dental Group to take care of my teeth! I have had a fair number of bad encounters with other dentists in the past resulting in prolonged pain, so I was apprehensive about finding a new dentist. Dr. Lee filled my cavity quickly, and I was relieved to have no pain afterwards. He was very thorough in explaining my situation to me (which the 3 dentists I'd had before didn't do). I'm also currently undergoing some orthodontic treatments, which he seemed well-versed in, so I felt like I was in good hands! The place is pretty spare and on the smaller side, but extremely clean. Wait time was very short during both of my appointments. I have had my appointment rescheduled before, but in most cases, I was able to schedule for something a week or so later. The staff was really helpful and friendly, and I especially appreciate that they took the time to confirm which X-rays they were taking and how much insurance would cover. I have been going to Dr. Lee for more than a decade now. Actually, everytime I go, I risk seeing my ex bf who referred me to his family dentist, lol. I used to get dentistry work done thru Western Dental and after a horrible experience with my wisdom teeth removal, my now-ex suggested I check Grace Dental out for my braces. That was 10 years ago.... and I'm still here. I've gotten braces (which i actually loveeed having), a tooth implant, and fillings along with my yearly cleanings done here. I used to hate going to the dentists but my experience with Grace Dental is always pleasant so now I never miss an appointment. Some of the assisting folks that help with the cleanings seem to be students as they rotate every so often but the folks who are permanent are so great and it's really nice to be recognized and remembered, especially my dental history. It actually makes taking care of my teeth more worth it. I appreciate the care Grace Dental has for me and their patients and will continue to risk seeing my ex just to have the best care for my teeth. I've even referred my brother here who also got his braces done with them as well as a crown after a silly accident, and referred my partner and friends parents and other friends as well lol. Ps. Front desk staff were attentive to greet me when I first came in for my appointment. I arrived 15 min early before my 4pm appointment and within 1 min the dental assistant or hygienist took me in right away. I made the appointment the day before due to pain in my gums which I felt days ago. I was glad to have been made this appointment at such last minute, XR showed some troublesome probably due to my wisdom tooth. For the past several years, I have been going to Gentle Dental , which used to be on geary blvd, but then they transferred to mission district and since their move to mission district, so did the staff slowly changed over time. It became chaotic and unorganized to the point where I refused to get my teeth checked . Thank god I made the decision come to Grace Dental, staff here are very EFFICIENT. Dr. Lee is great with communication. He was willing and able to contact my orthodontist to talk with him about repositioning my teeth in order to be elligible for Veneers. Turned out they realised an even better solution for my case; my wonderful orthodontist was able to pull down my two front teeth slightly in order to bypass Veneer on my two front teeth. I am one of the happiest patients. Prior to this, I was very worried about reaching my goal because with Veneers I would have needed to let go of more natural length. Another great experience I had with Dr. Lee is that he referred me to the best oral surgeon for my successful Implant procedure and was able to complete that Implant with a crown. I had heat/cold sensitivities in opposing molars and made an appt. My regular dentist was out of town, but the Dr. I saw was great. He tested some things and determined my bite was changing a bit and told me I should wear the Invisalign mouthguard at night and that should help. It did ! MY MEDIEVAL DENTISTRY EXPERIENCE: This review is way overdue and I should have written it a long time ago. I'm sure you remember me. I went to Grace Dental Group circa 2017 as my bottom wisdom teeth were erupting and I was feeling some pressure in my front teeth so I figured I'd get them checked out. They told me I didn't need to be put to sleep as the teeth were already erupted so they gave me local anesthesia and got to work. My threshold for pain is fairly high (tattoos don't hurt much to me) and yet I had to complain over a dozen times. They kept giving me additional anesthesia injections (at least 2 or 3 more) that did little to ease the pain. Not sure if they were just bad at hitting the nerve or if they were bad at extracting the teeth. 30 minutes into the procedure I could see the panic in the doctor's eyes. He was pushing and pulling on my teeth, his eyes were open like saucers and he was sweating profusely. The way he was communicating to the assistant started to concern me so I sat back and braced for some pain. I know from someone else who had a similar experience that they need to finish within a time frame or else anesthesia wears off and they can only administer so much of it before it becomes dangerous. He continued pulling with his tools, pretty hard at this point and eventually he got both teeth out. I vividly remember him wiping the sweat off his forehead when the second tooth was out. He then cleaned up the blood, stitched me up, stuffed the back of my mouth with gauze and sent me on my way. By the time I left the dentist I was afraid to call an Uber because my mouth was bleeding profusely and I was worried I would not be able to keep the blood in my mouth for the whole 3 min ride. I decided to walk back (about 7-10 min) as fast as I could as my mouth kept filling up with blood. The gauze had become saturated so I tried swallowing, which made me incredibly nauseous. A few minutes into my walk I had to stop by the dumpster to throw up, and spit out the blood and saturated gauze. Why they let me go home when my mouth was hemorrhaging like that is beyond me. Recovery was grueling, as you would expect after a session of violent tooth pulling but I wish that was the full extent of it. Turns out the fun had just begun. Over the next few weeks the stitches dissolved to reveal a bunch of mangled tissue. Think of a b*hole but in the back of your mouth. For the next few years, my front teeth started "clicking" while they slightly moved back and forth and adjusted to the extra space. I can still feel the recessed gum when I run my mouth over the extraction site. And no, I didn't get dry sockets and took the healing process very seriously. Sometimes, the scarring in the back of my mouth becomes inflamed and occasionally it will cut open if I accidentally chew on it as it's the case with bad scar tissue (think of fighters whose face cuts open after just one punch). Last week the scar burst open again and this time the inflammation isn't coming down. Will have to go see a dentist. Ironic that they pulled an almost fully erupted molar made by mother nature to chew on food and left me with a weak, painful scar instead. read more
