I went in last year as a walk-in and had no issue. A year and a half later, I try to schedule an appointment for a wisdom tooth issue but no response at their office for two days straight. Left a voicemail and did not receive any call back. The sign outside of the building says walk-ins are welcome, so I figured I would give it a try since their Saturday hours are 8am-2pm. I went at 9:30am, and the door was locked & lights off. I called again and still got their voicemail. So I'm either to believe that they are no longer an operating dentist's office or have terrible customer service. I went to Precision Dental a few blocks over, who were able to get me in the same day for an appointment, and showed me issues that Grace Dental never brought up with me regarding my wisdom teeth. There are so many other dentists offices in the area, including a couple along the same stretch of Lawrence between Elston and Pulaski. Any of them are more worth the time and energy than Grace. read more

I have no idea how this place got 5 stars but NOPE! I went in for a cleaning and the young dentist was using a grinding tool! I have very clean teeth. I floss every day and brush at least 2-3 times a day. I've never had a dentist or hygienist use that tool before! He does a quick and horrible job I assume to get your money and get you out fast. I'll NEVER go back. I was CRINGING the whole time! If you like pain, this is your place. I already have a new dentist. Bye! 1/2 star is more appropriate rating. read more

Dr. Nisha is my dentist and she has done a great job when doing my cleanings. She's very detailed and takes her time during her cleanings. The girls in front are very welcoming and helpful. The girls in the back assisting the Doctors are also helpful trying to make the patient feel comfortable and relax during x-rays and cleanings. read more

After 10 years (I know I'm terrible) I returned to a dentist, after a thorough search of who is covered through my work insurance and ZocDoc, I found this awesome little place. Now the dentist terrifies me so of course I was nervous. I was very happy at how pleasant the assistants and Dr Esther were. During xrays it was really cool to SEE mine pop up on the flat screen mounted on the wall, so used to the old print outs; I was happier to see that it didn't look like I needed anything to crazy to be done procedure wise (anthro major here, lots of rotty mandibles I've seen). It was recommend that because of my gums condition that I have a deep cleaning done, which of course terrified me all over since it meant LARGE needle in my tiny mouth. Dr Esther was very kind reminding me to BREATHE as she numbed my mouth for the procedure. She did an excellent job giving me cues to breathe and which way to shift my head and awesome after care instructions, as I had the laser treatment done. The next step will be a few small fillings (2 separate visits since I'm a student by day) and then I'm done! They take CareCredit which is great for covering the portion I pay out of pocket, which is a lot lower than I thought. I will definitely be keeping her as my dentist for all future cleanings, its been a loooooong time since I felt comfortable at a dentist...and by a long time I mean since I was a kid, before I got braces. Seriously, so awesome and pretty darn gentle with that giant needle when numbing my face! 5 stars to Dr Esther, 4 to the entirety of the office for the slightly outdated look and some tools mixed with technically advanced gear; a few technical difficulties with the water thing and cosmetic/organization of things but nothing horrible here at all! ....if I see wrinkles on my forehead in the coming years I will try the botox Hahaha! read more

I really enjoyed my visit to the dentist today, I had a teeth cleaning and I know the drill, I've come to this office for a few years now but, it was nothing like the previous experiences. I sat down and both the dentist, Nisha and her assistant, I wish I remembered her name we're so friendly. Not only friendly but professional. I had a neck, and mouth exam which feels the same as a massage to me. Then she gently did my cleaning and she was so attentive. Her assistant wanted to go the extra mile for me. I needed a referral and her assistant jumped at the opportunity to find out if my insurance covered it. It's the little details that matters to me because they are not little at all. It's the threads of kind acts that make the most beautiful relationships. Even if, the relationship is for business. Here is a little extra detail! They are remodeling! I use to feel apprehensive about opening my mouth in some of the rooms but, it's improved so much. Give them a shot, you'll be impressed!. This time I saw Dr Hong, Very friendly & accommodating. The place isnt fancy by any means, but their staff were very friendly, professional and prioritized my comfort. visiting a dental office is on the bottom of my list of fun and I assume it's the case for most people, but i was at ease and felt comfortable while getting my teeth fixed. and very reasonable price as well. it's really hard to find a mechanic that won't cheat you and it's harder to find a doctor that wont over charge, but this might be the place I was looking for all along. you'll pay for their great service they give you, not for the fancy couch, tvs and play stations or for their "spa" interiors that other place might have. i will recommend this place to my friends and family. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Hong for several years now after my previous dentist retired and I didn't like the person who took over his practice. It's super convenient as the office is in my neighborhood. I really like Dr. Hong. He explains everything he's doing and is very concerned and patient. I've had a variety of services performed including replacement of a crown and fitting for a night guard. I have been searching for a good dentist for quite some time. One of my good friends/coworkers recommended Grace Dental and she made the best recommendation! Everyone was friendly! The hygienist & Dr. Lee were very thorough. It's been a while since I have been able to go to the dentist due to lack of insurnace and I have some work to be done before I can achieve the million dollar smile I want. They don't make you feel bad about work you need done. They explain everything very well and make a good treatment plan. I expected to be pleased during my visit but they truly went above and beyond and most certainly earned five stars! So glad I have found a good dentist that I plan on going to for years to come! Friendly staff...willing to work with you if you need payment assistance..I like that they are not about fancy offices and even fancier prices...I had the pleasure of visiting dental offices that cared more of their image (by swaying clients with tvs and other techy stuff in the waiting area) than providing stellar service and lets be honest noone necessarily enjoys visiting the dentist but everyone here is so warm and really make you feel at ease. The only negative is that they seem to always be overbooked for the day and appt times are occassionally not adhered too. read more

I first went here over a year ago. I have bad teeth and have struggled with dentistry in the past. I got a crown here. The doctor believed that the tooth didn't need a root canal and didn't want to do unless necessary. She said we would monitor it. I totally forgot about that. Now I discover I need a root canal on that same tooth. So the crown has to come off and be replaced. $1000 for a new crown. They remembered that was the tooth they worked on before. I forgot it was the same one. They offered to pay for the new crown!!! How unbelievably awesome us that?! My sister has gone here and also loved her experience. This was beyond doubt my best dental visit ever. I avoided going for years because I hated the dentist. Then I had a late wisdom tooth decide to make its presence known. I came in and within 10 minutes the tooth was out. Literally took the dentist 30 seconds to get the tooth out. On a later date they did an exam and x-rays on me. Both trips were as pleasant as could be seeing on one I was having a tooth yanked out of my mouth. I also brought my three year old son here for his first dental visit. We had tried times before at a different dentist and he either bit the dentist or refused to let his mouth be pried open. Here he cooperated well and really got along with their staff. They were so friendly and gentle with him. They had patience with him as he was still a bit scared and they explained everything to him step by step, showed him each tool, and talked with him about his interests making him comfortable. They were great working with me on making the visit affordable and did not try to get me to get useless procedures done to put money in their pocket. I even expressed concern about a discolored line on a tooth, and they told me it was harmless and not to waste money fixing it when it was barely visible. Something my last dentist would have told me was crucial to be done. After coming here I have no fear or avoidance of the dentist any longer and my son is actually excited to come back and get another prize. Highly recommended. read more

I came in for a tooth extraction. The dental assistant didn't seem like he knew what he was doing and kept commenting like he was the doctor. The dentist, Andrew Hong, was nervous and shaky. It was decided to pull two teeth (which was fine), in the process of extracting the second tooth an instrument "slipped" and proceeded to stab me under my tongue/between the bottom of my mouth. I instinctively put my finger under my tongue to see if i was bleeding (which i was) and Mr. Hong was like "no, no don't do that" and then told me it was just a bruise. It isn't just a bruise btw, i can clearly see a "hole" made by the instrument and it hurts more than the tooth that was infected. My whole experience was awful! And to top it all off, i had to practically beg for a prescription for an antibiotic. I've NEVER gotten a tooth pulled and not received an antibiotic. Maybe the other dentists as this practice are good but DO NOT let Andrew Hong near your mouth. I feel belittled and violated. What a great combo when you're already in pain........ read more

Quick bookings, I've seen Dr. Lisa a couple of times (saw another dentist who is no longer there previously), and they have helped me improve my gum problems with more frequent cleanings, etc. Their prices are extremely reasonable- $80 for cleaning. Today I had x-rays, a thorough exam, and a cleaning for $135! And everyone there is so friendly. My only complaint is that they don't have nitrous oxide if I needed some kind of major dental repair, like a crown or root canal. read more

I first came to Grace Dental because I needed to find a new dentist after a lapse in my insurance policy, and they were pretty close by, and I'm very glad I did. The building itself is very easily accessible with ample nearby parking, and with a CTA bus stop literally right outside if you take public transportation. It's clean, neat, and the equipment is all very good. More importantly, the staff here is incredibly friendly and helpful. There is a warm overall atmosphere that really doesn't feel tense like any other I've been to, but also doesn't detract from the office's professionalism. The dental work itself is obviously terrific. Dr. Stephanie works with a very steady and dexterous hand; in all the times I've been here for an appointment, I've never experienced pain or discomfort of any sort. This place is so warm & comforting! I was on a search for a new dentist because the last dentist office stopped accepting my insurance. Although I didn't like to part with my previous dentist, going to this office put me at such ease. I really didn't think I would feel as comfortable at another dental office but Dr. Stephanie was amazing! So friendly & she did a great job with my fillings & also gave me a great price for a root canal that has to be done. I'm not a fan of change especially when I'm comfortable with who I had as a dentist but this place put all my anxiety at ease. The staff is friendly as well!
