When you book this venue you create a family you never knew you needed. My wedding coordinator was Maria. She not only put my husband's and my needs first, but was so organized and made the process so seamless. I had noooooo idea what I was doing but she was there to guide me every step of the way. Then you have Benir who is in charge of the food and bakery. My husband was in charge of selecting the food and the cake and they instantly hit it off. She kept the process of selecting the food and cake fun and easy. She designed our cake for us because we had no idea what we wanted it to look like. It was awesome and tasted even better! Last but not least there is Frank, our DJ that helped us by putting everything together from the lights, to the ceremony, to the music. Frank and Maria make the best team. The way the music and the lights made the tent dance and come to life was unforgettable. If I could describe the tent it was as if it was dancing with us. Me and my fiance' booked this venue for our wedding. We booked it about a year in advance and after a few payments I was informed that my grandfather could not make the wedding due to travel restrictions from his declining health. We then decided to cancel the venue and get married closer to where I live so my grandfather could be there. We reached out to the venue instantly. We expressed our understanding that we canceled so we were at their mercy. However, we would appreciate if we could get a portion of our money back for our wedding (not a full refund because again, we understand how these things work). They aggressively said no and went on a tangent. Now if we canceled a month before the wedding, I would be more forgiving of this behavior. However, we canceled almost a year out and they refuse to show any decency for our situation. Life deals bad cards sometimes and it's unfortunate that we were forced to cancel but it's saddening to know that there are people out there that can take so much money from a young couple that's fallen on hard times and not think twice about it. We don't have much. A small refund would have helped immensely. TLDR: If you book with this venue. Don't do it too far out because if something bad happens and you have to cancel, you will not be met with grace. No matter how far out your cancelation is.. read more

It's been almost ten months since my sister's wedding and our loved ones are still talking about how gorgeous it was. I'll be honest that there were a few speed bumps with the changing of the wedding planners and some details falling through the cracks, but damn did they knock it out of park when push comes to shove and their team made sure the day of was everything we planned since first booking. Grace Gardens is an absolute gorgeous venue and my family was able to secure the 4th of July weekend in 2019 due to a last minute cancellation (granted this last minute cancellation was like 12 months in advance). Their loss, our gain lol. We reserved the grand ballroom which is a perfect blank canvas to transform any occasion to your needs. Everytime I flew into town to go in with my family for updates, etc., they definitely take event planning serious. Here's some things to keep in mind: -You can rent glassware directly from them or bring in your own -You can bring in your own dessert vendors (as long as it's something that they cannot offer) -They have a beautiful room where you can build out your table settings. You can select platings, table clothes, linens, style of chairs, and SO MUCH MORE -They have direct contacts for florals and they'll make sure they're setup for you. -Rent out the patio seating. It serious elevates the mood. - They have some beautiful scenery props you can rent out and utilize. Such as the floating candle wall and white orchid trees. -Hiring bartenders and staff is SO REASONABLE. $100 per bartender for event. -You can supply your own LIQUOR for the bar #WINNING The day of logistics and service from the Grace Garden team was outstanding and everything went along so amazing. From the cocktail hour in the reception featuring various horderves and beverages (we were allowed to bring in a string quartet) to the custom gobo we had for our sister and BIL made which they happily placed on the dance floor. The grand ballroom is a dream and seriously the staff throughout the evening was surreal. I highly recommend this venue. Beautiful views, quality service, expert staff, and most importantly the creation of priceless memories. I was helping my sister plan her wedding and we called this venue ahead of time to check if they were LGBTQIA+ inclusive. They said yes, so my sister and her fiancé took time out of their day and drove hours to this venue, to only be brushed off and told that the owner "doesn't support their kind." The disregard for my family's time, disrespectful "othering" of my my family as a different "kind," and lack of empathy or care when discussing their exclusion from this venue based on them being lesbian was heart breaking and another trauma experience for them to add to their life. We called ahead of time to ask screening questions about our ceremony and reception. We spoke to Arlene who is apparently untrained and unaware of how the events go l, and how the property run. We came to view the property and we didn't even make it past the front office. The staff who was supposed to show us around apparently had another appointment and couldn't take care of us. My wife and I attended a formal Valentine's Day dance held at this location where Rhapsody, a local grou, played a variety of entertaining music.. We both were amazed at how beautiful the interior was decorated. The large interior has large chandeliers and all the tables were beautifully decorated with tablecloths and silverware. The sound system was absolutely terrible. I can't believe that would pass in an event center. So staticky and muffled we couldn't understand the wedding speeches and the music sounded terrible. It was incredibly loud on top of that. Door to the kitchen needs a soft close; every time the staff came out it slammed and interrupted what was going on. Multiple exits were locked which seems unsafe. The commons area is small and needs more seating and smells like sewer. Aside from all of those things the terrible sound system would keep me from ever booking this place. read more

The main pro of Grace Gardens is that it is a beautiful venue and can hold large weddings (300+). Our wedding was in the tent, and it was a lovely venue with new features like beautiful chandeliers and glass windows. Our coordinator, Maria, was always there to answer our questions and help us the entire process doing her very best to make our day as special and perfect as possible. We were also surprised to hear that our guests actually really liked the food, so that was an unexpected plus. The meal prices are also really good deal. Oh and it does help that you can bring your own liquor. Unfortunately, there were more cons than pros to having our event at Grace Gardens. First and foremost, DO NOT recommend using their florist at all. I would have rather paid the $1k just to use an outside florist because 1. They didn't have the main flower I requested and notified me week of wedding and 2. None of the arrangements were anything I asked for at all, my bouquet was nothing like I requested, the corsages for moms were horrible, and all the flowers were dying before we even made it to the reception. Secondly, they charge you for EVERY little thing except basic linens and the worst part is that if they don't have something you want, you can't bring in your own things, so your stuck with working around what they have. Your package includes "sodas", but you can't use this for mixers, and it's ONLY Coke and Sprite, so good luck. I would think an event center like Grace Gardens would have soda machines at this point. Ah and can't forget to mention that they literally rent out their glasses! So be prepared to bring EVERYTHING for your bar if you plan to offer anything except wine and beer. If you don't get the cake with them, you also have to bring your own plates AND forks or pay to "rent" them. The waitstaff was not attentive to guests outside of serving dinner, and at one point the father of the groom was literally refilling water for our guests. Overall, I would not recommend Grace Gardens as a venue if you have a very specific vision for your wedding because it will be really tough to get what you want with the limited options available and policies they have around ability to bring outside vendors or your own items. read more

Writer's Note: This is an updated review that I felt compelled to write after the following exchange that took place this morning. The original review follows this one. This morning, I received a call from the owner of Grace Gardens and George's Tents & Events. George told me he heard I was planning a wedding for "next June or July". He seemed to have no knowledge about my past attempts to obtain a quote for a tent for May 26th, 2013 or the fact that it took three weeks for someone (now I know his name, Edmund) to contact me on July 7, 2012. George definitely did not know that Edmund in fact met with me, my wife, the bride's family, the sales manager, and the catering manager at Coronado Country Club at 1:00 p.m., five days later on Thursday July 12, 2012. George also apparently was unaware that we have been patiently waiting for a quote for the 7,000 square foot tent--almost one month later to the day. I informed George that after not hearing from Grace Gardens/George's Tents & Events for a couple weeks, we were subsequently forced to obtain two competing quotes--one from a local tent vendor in El Paso and one from Albuquerque. Both quotes arrived within three days and we've been in regular communication. After explaining to George all of the above, he felt the need to trash talk the two largest private country clubs in El Paso (his competitors) and replied, "I sense a negative vibe, so I am going to refuse to quote your event." I just had my wedding early Oct. 2012. I must admit I am a very organized person and I started planning 1year before my event. I worked with Alice as my wedding coordinator. My perspective was a bit different since I was planning my event from a different country which only gave me 3 opportunities to come into town and make definitive arrangements. Their venue is a one stop shop including: wine, food, decor, beer, lighting, flowers, dj and ceremony space. So this was the place for me. The cherry on top is that you bring your own liquor and that is always a hugh cost savings to customers. I chose the tent which has the beautiful chandelier and draping. The GOOD and the BAD: Cost were on the higher end in El Paso but they really don't have many competitors who have updated venues. As a former El Paso resident I know all existing venues have not been renovated and have an 80's look to them. I did have 2 tastings and made the menu as simple as possible because I must say I was not impressed with my first tasting. The upside is that they will make anything you ask for. Everyone was very satisfied with the food despite being late by about 1 hour due to our limo driver. The green chile corn chowder was a huge crowd pleaser!! It's a must if you are going for the southwest flavor in your menu. I personally encouraged this to our chef. I have had better food at other weddings but in the grand scheme of things everyone was sufficiently impressed so this pleased me. I did not use their florist nor their DJ. I will say that the DJ was definitely the most unprofessional person at Grace Gardens. I attempted to customize the songs played and make a flow of everything and he replied in one sentence answers to 2 emails and took 1 month to get back to me. I went ahead and looked for someone else which worked very well. The Dj was never a problem because I was well ahead of schedule. One thing I will complain about is the security detail. 2 police officers were on duty all night and the bartender cut off several guests despite all guest having full access to shuttle service. I had many guest comment about this and how it made them feel like they were doing something wrong, illegal etc. I personally have never been to a wedding with police inside the venue and constantly circulating. I was informed that there would be security and that they would be outside. This was a very uneasy feeling and it just destroyed the ambience that we tried to create. Not cool. Linens they provide are good and there is plenty to combine to make tasteful arrangements. The tables looked classy. My outside florist did an absolutely superb job! They offered lemon scented warm towels after the cocktail hour which was a nice touch for my guest. Midnight burritos were awesome!!! hats off to the chef. Many satisfied guest. Ceremony was beautiful and once again my florist was simply amazing. Alice helped with an unforeseen quartet absence. Ha! I believe she was more upset than I was but I think they set up a CD player that was only audible to guest. Who knows? Mosquito city!!!!! Once it got dark out it was crazy! I left several {off repellant} at guest restrooms. It is a must with the pond. All in all I really liked the venue and what they provided for us. There was not a single person who didn't have a good time. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone who is planning from out of town and still wants a tasteful wedding. They are organized! We had my son's wedding at Grace Gardens and all of the family is still talking about the beautiful venue, We had guests come in from Austin, Phoenix and Chicago. Everyone was blown away by the beauty of this place. We changed wedding coordinators because Rosie just didn't help us at all. She never sent the e-mails that she said she would and never followed up with us. She never returned phone calls and when the new coordinator, Abby took over, we found out that Rosie hadn't even written down half of the things that we had discussed with her! It was a mess. Thank goodness for Abby. She was absolutely the best to work with. Very professional and was on top of EVERYTHING. I could not be happier with Grace Gardens. I have had two events there and I have secured this venue for two more. I have used the Grand Ballroom for both events. The staff is so helpful and accommodating. They have a great selection of linens and even special ordered some for me. The setup was already complete by 10 AM when my event didn't begin until 8 PM. Everyone was so helpful and George reached out to me several times to make sure I was happy with everything. There is plenty of parking and you don't have to use several vendors. Finally, a venue with Christian values! (They were recently in the news and have offended other Yelpers here by refusing to host gay weddings). I attended a friend's wedding here and loved the place, they had an outdoor wedding on a beautiful tent and it was spectacular. I would love to have my wedding in a place like this. I would just like to make sure they follow other biblical rules so I made a list of questions for the owner, hopefully they can answer:  - Can you forward me a link to your dress code for women? I want to make sure my female guests don't wear expensive mini skirts or jewelry (Timothy 2:9). I would prefer not to have to stone my mother in law to death on my wedding night.  - Please confirm that you have NEVER EVER served scallops, shrimp or lobster! Remember that just as gay marriage, this is also an abomination (Leviticus 11:12).  - Do you provide rocks (to kill the bride in case she's not a virgin)? As the bible states, after the ceremony we are going to check her vajayjay and if she's not a virgin where going to proceed and kill her with stones (Deuteronomy 22:20-21). I am so very disappointed in this venue. My entire adulthood, I planned my wedding in a venue like Grace Gardens and was absolutely disappointed the day of my wedding, June 29th. Since the planning, I had been assigned one coordinator, who was excellent. Then, she "retired" and we were assigned Christina. She was the worst! She had no interest in our wedding and was never to be found. We would call and she would never be available. The day of our wedding she was a mess. My parents did not receive their bouquets and the bouquets sat under a table the entire reception and ceremony. I waited 40 minutes for my bouquet and my bridesmaids bouquet because we couldn't start the ceremony without it and Christina could not be bothered to come check or help find them, which made our ordain late for his other events (he was supposed to deliver our ceremony at 5 and we ended up marrying around 5:45). None of the candles were lit during the reception, so my husband had to light our own candles. My mother in law had to go around lighting some as well. The appetizers we paid for were never announced and sat in the sun for two hours. Christina, our "coordinator" took off never to be seen again without a single word to us. Our 29 dollar plates of 8 oz sirloins resulted in something else we never agreed to be served and looked like 4 oz steaks. There was a roach in my niece's plate. We bought our own liquor, which we made inventory of prior to the reception. At the end of the night, no inventory was given back to us and everything was packages prior to us seeing what was left of liquor and we had bottles missing, expensive bottles. While they opened the beer bar (because it was cash beer and wine bar) as an apology for all the mess, and comped some appetizers, this doesn't make up for the disappointment and loss of money we had put into our meal and ceremony. Comping a 200 appetizer table im exchange for 80 plates each costing 29.00 that were NOT served isn't ok and is not equivalent. Not to include all the distress I went thorough on my special day. The owners showed up and apologized and said they would be contacting us and it's been a week with no contact from them. I am so utterly disappointed and angry at this place. The only reason I'm giving it a two star is because after Christina abandones us, the owner's sister showed up and took over, which made it a bit better but not entirely since all the disappointment and disaster had already happened. Btw, who puts a tent up where a bride needs to enter and needs to try to wiggle through the entrance because the dress doesn't fit through it? Bad placement? More like lack of skills and judgement. As I walked in, my guests had to move their chairs just so I could have a spot to enter into the ceremony tent. Ridiculous! read more

I had my wedding here about a week ago. Every person that assisted us was helpful from day one. We are from the East Coast so I was especially nervous about planning our wedding from so far away. We made three visits before the wedding day, and my coordinators and the florist called or emailed me when they needed information from me, they kept me on my toes. My 1st coordinator left two weeks before my wedding (she was great) but then Vanessa was assigned to us (YAY!!). I was stressed at first after working with someone else for almost a year and a half but Vanessa was fabulous! She was cool, calm, and collected, and showed excellent customer service! She asked us questions, answered ours, and made our wedding a success. She let us play the Jurassic Park theme song while we all walked down the aisle! Ivonne was also great. I don't know a thing about décor or flowers but she helped me with ideas and everything turned out beautiful. DJ Danny also did well, despite a few name mess-ups. I forgive him - because he played ALL of the good music. We had a very diverse group of people, and everyone had an absolute ball on the dance floor! I sent in a list of specific songs, and I honestly can't think of one that wasn't played. We held our ceremony on Pond Island under a tent, and had the cocktail hour and reception in the Grand Ballroom. Everyone's pictures inside and outside turned out amazing! We had roasted thyme chicken, ribeye with the tampiquena gravy, and eggplant parmesan for our entrée options, and all proved to be a hit! We also got some apps for cocktail hour and late night snacks. Everything was delicious. Including our amazing Harry Potter cake!! Shout out to the Chef and his team! The bridal suite in the Grand Ballroom was perfect for my four bridesmaids, mother, and nephew (the ring bearer). Plenty of room, spacious bathroom, long mirror, vanities, etc. Most of our guests were from TX, NM and CA, but the other half were from all over the country! Everyone said the wedding was beautiful and they all had a great time! I recommend this venue wholeheartedly. They will work with you! Our event was better than we could have imagined. read more

I just had my wedding this past weekend (OCT 4th, 2014). Good: I love Sally! She was our event coordinator and she is the best! I did not have to worry about a thing. She took care of everything in a professional matter and everything went smoothly. She was always around to answer any questions we had and replied to emails quickly. The food was amazing! We only got appetizers and desserts and had many good compliments about the food. It is a little pricy since you have to get the food from there but everything was delicious. The service was great! We did have to pay extra to have more waiters but it was definitely worth it! Our guest were always taken care off and thats what we were shooting for. We brought our own sparkly juice and they were able to serve it and pass it our for the toasts. I was beyond amazed with that service so if you don't have it, GET IT! It will be worth your money! Bad: Oh my gosh, the DJ was the worst of all! If I would of known I would have rather gotten my own DJ! So get your own because he sucks! He would play 3 songs of a genre and then 1 of a complete different one and then go back to the one he started with. It was not professional at all! Very disappointed with that because Grace Gardens has been in business for a while you would think that their DJ has more experience but NO! Horrible, horrible DJ! Mosquitos were eating us alive! Bug repellant is a MUST! Specially if you are having a ceremony outside by the pond. We had one outside for people to use but that was bad. My wedding was a mess! My coordinator was nowhere to be found the entire night and when I did find her, she was always clueless. The sound for the ceremony was awful, you could hardly hear the music and much less make out the lyrics. They assigned me the worst DJ! Not once did he play what I asked him for and he only played one genre the entire night. The only time I got to dance at my own wedding was at the end of the night when he put all the line dances one right after the other. The lights went out due to a storm and they had no generator and reacted so slowly. My guests and I were left with no music for about ten minutes and it was the most embarrassing thing. I paid so much money for this venue, expecting for everything to turn out as close to perfect as possible but that was not at all the case. So many things went wrong the entire night and not once did I feel at peace. The servers had no respect for the bride's suite and they were letting everyone go in there. There was a guest who had to change their baby in my bridal suite because Grace Gardens does not provide a baby changing station in the guest restrooms. Aside from everything going wrong and nothing being under control, the food was the only thing I could say was good. Overall Grace Gardens is such a beautiful place but the service is awful and I do not recommend this venue at all for a wedding. I am at least happy to say that the owners refunded a small amount to us because of the light shortage and the embarrassment my husband and I had to go through in front of all our family and friends. read more

I recently had my wedding here and it is fair to say that it is one of the most descent, if not, breathtaking venues in the area (although far in the outskirts of El Paso). In the initial meeting, you sign a contract with a random person. Later, they pair you up with an event planner and the process goes from there. The person we initially signed the contract with gave us a lot of wrong information that later caused us to argue it with our event planner. The hall is typically rented for 6 hours, but the person we signed the contract with had told us for 7 hours, and it was written in our contract (this was honored though, whew, since invitations had been made already with the 7 hour span). Our event planner Araceli was amazing though, however, whoever is behind their policies is not so much. I understand the event planner has to abide by their rules and policies, but gosh darn, they charge for everything! When I say everything, I mean everything. You would imagine that you are already paying so much for the hall that maybe they would be flexible with the additional cost, but no...Their prices are equally outrages and terrifying! They charge for the use of charger plates, even though you are using their sit down dinner option. When I asked how much per charger plate, she mentioned $5 ea., their coffee and tea are overly priced (not to mention that their coffee and tea are average, I don't know why they charge so much for it when I buy a whole box of tea with 100 packages for a lot cheaper than what they charged their basic coffee/tea), they charge $0.40 per plastic cup, they charge the same amount to use their glassware and the list goes on...Their dessert buffet is ridiculous expensive, not to mention the chocolate fountain. What's worse is that they don't allow you to bring in outside vendors! You have to go through them for your toasting drinks...you have to go through them for anything food related to include desserts. And for wines/sparkling wines/champagnes you have to buy it by the box through them, although we only needed several bottles. For the budget friendly bride stay away! If I would have known this prior to signing a contract with them I would have looked elsewhere. For the cost of the hall and its amenities you would think they have more than enough in stock, but sadly they don't. They only had so much linen of one style. So if you like one style they might only have 5 linen or 10 and to order more they charge you!! My wedding included 300 guests, which means that I needed at least 30+ linen. In the end, I had to combine two different kinds. Regardless to say, it looked beautiful the day of the wedding! Their linen is beautiful and well taken care of. Doing combinations works wonderful because their linen is just stunning. They also lack centerpiece mirrors of the same style (and I was charged as well for the use of their mirrors). This was never mentioned to me and I was led to believe that they were all the same size. When I went to go decorate part of the hall is when I realized that they were different sizes and some were even chipped and/or broken on the sides/corners. Not in the best conditions to say the least... The day of the wedding went perfect. The food was delectable, the staff was amazing, and I must commend Araceli for her magnificent job. To get a hold of anyone though on the day of your wedding (prior to starting time) was very hard. My event started at 7pm that day, I must've called the hall more than 10 times throughout the day, and was only successful once with some random person. She couldn't help me and mentioned that she would pass the message on to Araceli our event planner, but I never received a call back. Now...after the wedding...they charged us MORE and AGAIN for some broken mirrors that could have been broken by their own staff. They also charged us for damaged linen. We were able to get the stains off with no problem and have decided to keep the linen since we already paid for the damages (they are just so lovely). We were also missing a Courvoisier bottle, but they covered themselves saying that we had signed off the inventory list and there was nothing they could do about it. They provide a list where you do your own liquor inventory. At the end of the event you do your own liquor inventory again and sign off for it. As the bride and groom we didn't bother to do it, and the person who signed for it (my father in law) was somewhat tipsy that inventory was not even done. He just signed off for it. The box was brought directly to our house from the venue. I understand that the staff is only following a company's policies so I don't blame them. I'm not happy with whoever is behind their policies. As I mentioned, if you are the budget friendly bride stay away and make sure you get everything in writing and a price list as well before committing to anything. Their attention to detail and constant communication with our staff has allowed us to grow our function from 300 to 620 over the past few years. The location is so lovely, and they dress up the place quite well. The sunset makes for a very unique and beautiful experience, and you will have great wedding photographs. The food was also excellent. And that's the end of the positive things to say. Our experience would have been superb would they have had a completely different staff. Unfortunately the service was at best mediocre. Our wedding coordinator, Rosie, was as unprofessional the night of the wedding as I could have never imagined. Instead of alleviating the stress of seating guests, or getting chairs that were supposed to be already set up outside, she was rude, aloof, and the mother of the bride was the one running around trying to get a hold of all the situations that were not taken care of by the coordinator/management. The list of things neglected, or blamed on another vendor go on and on. Waiters were not coming around for basic service such as filling the water goblets. I had never seen anything like it. Many lessons were learned here and among them is that if you will use this venue for your event, work with an external wedding planner, not theirs, or at least not Rosie. I want to believe everyone has a bad day or night at work, however a temperamental and apathetic wedding coordinator is unacceptable to a family that has put great effort in such an important life event. Try to outsource as many services as possible since everything they provide was so unreliable and at the moment of the reception simply did not come through. Again it is a shame that their staff is not up to par with the location, because they could have a really spectacular experience to offer but instead is marred by their deplorable service. read more
