The El Paso Opera is using this venue for this year's fundraiser and is is beautiful! The location and size is perfect for an event. This was a fabulous event and the singers were amazing. Now to dance the night away at the after party by the pool!

Had a great experience at the swim club! Definitely make sure you get there right at noon so that you're able to get a good seat by the pool! Everything is a little pricey and the food isn't great but the atmosphere is worth it!!

The Cake we ordered from them. Beautiful and tasteful.

totally recommend this place to have a kids party. I threw my daughter's 8th birthday on Memorial Day and let me tell you best experience Ever!!!! Cabana's, food, drinks, service & pool. They even took care of our invitations and cake and they were amazing!!! Our host Kayla was amazing very attentive and responsive to all of our requests (3 cabanas) will definitely do it again. Thank you Daniel & Anna for the help

    So much fun!!

From Five-Star Welcome to Zero-Star Nightmare…read more I don't write many reviews, but my experience at Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park deserves a proper warning label. After a grueling 15-hour drive from Los Angeles--including two hours stuck in standstill traffic in New Mexico and nonstop torrential rain--my husband, our pup, and I arrived around 11:45PM on November 22, 2025, absolutely drained. Thankfully, check-in with Alex was the one bright spot of the entire stay. He was warm, personable, and even offered us a chilled bottle of white wine--a small but meaningful gesture after the day we'd had. We slept soundly, enjoyed our preordered breakfast, and hit the road again toward Fort Worth on November 23rd to continue our Thanksgiving plans with family. Checkout was quick, easy, and I was told the final bill would be emailed later that day. I received it, reviewed it, and everything looked perfectly fine. Then came November 24th, and things went downhill--fast. I received another email, this time with a revised bill that included a "room damage fee" of $7.05 for a supposedly missing "clip hanger." Not only is the charge absurd, it was completely fabricated. Why would I need a hanger when our large luggage stayed in the car with valet the entire time? We checked in late, slept, ate, and left around 10 AM. I didn't even have time to unpack, let alone steal a hanger. I immediately called to inquire and was told someone would need to "check with housekeeping." Then... nothing. No call back. I called again. Same script. Still no follow-up. I called a third time and was once again told the housekeeping manager would "look into it" and decide whether the charge could be removed--as if this required a full investigation and a committee vote. At this point, it became painfully clear: The accounting department at Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park is incompetent, and housekeeping seems to be running some kind of petty upcharge scam. A so-called luxury hotel should, at minimum, send an accurate bill or at least communicate with guests when issues arise. Instead, they hide behind "housekeeping will review it" while ignoring repeated requests for an explanation. Eventually, I did receive a revised bill with the erroneous charge refunded--but still no phone call, even after I asked for one each time I followed up. Not a single explanation. Not even a courtesy apology. The lack of accountability is astonishing. And here's the kicker: we actually had excellent service from the bellhop and valet. They were friendly, efficient, and made arrivals and departures smooth--further proof that this hotel has the talent, just not consistency in the departments that matter after you check out. I should be clear--this issue isn't even about the money. It's the principle. Why should my integrity be questioned? Why should I even have to defend myself to multiple individuals over something that never happened? Why should I be left to repeatedly follow-up to get a resolution that surely cost the hotel much more in time and resources than the erroneous fee. Why should I lose precious time with my family over the holidays to resolve an issue that should have never existed? Should I have requested a walk-thru of the hotel room with the manager as if I were turning in the keys to an apartment that I had leased? It's something I'll definitely consider going forward--but should I even have to? That's absurd. I'm a guest, who paid a premium to stay at your hotel, by choice. A choice that I will consider when planning my future travel through beautiful El Paso. Unfortunately, because we enjoyed our stay so much we booked our returning home stay for the weekend following Thanksgiving before receiving the revised erroneous invoice. I'm disappointed that our favorite place to stay in El Paso is now tarnished. Hopefully round two will come and go without fabricated fees and ghosted call-back requests. I'll report back. If you're considering a stay here, be warned: The hospitality is five-star, but the billing practices and accountability are proving to be absolutely and unfortunately zero-star.

The parts of Juarez I saw on the drive from the airport and the area I stayed look decent. But by…read moreno means did I translate that to safe. But compared to Mexico City, Juarez is so much cleaner and nicer looking. Locals I crossed all said that all the violence shown in the news is located in the center of town which is no where near this area. I saw no signs of problems. I didn't venture out a lot, but I did walk to the stores just across the street from our hotel a couple of times. Hotel choices right by the embassy were plentiful. And I do mean right by it. Next door, across the street... within one or two blocks there had to be 20 hotels. Big chain hotels and little hotels. I looked carefully at most hotels in the area on sites like TripAdviser, Google Ratings, Yelp, Orbitz and others before I chose. I chose one a little further away, reasons listed below. A ton of restaurants around including Denny's, Applebees, Wing Nuts, Little Caesars and other familiar restaurants, as well as a million local joints and the oh-so-tasty street vendors. Right across the street there are 10 restaurants. The hotel I chose and why... I stayed at the La Quinta Inn that was about 3/4 a mile away from the embassy. There were a lot of hotels closer but this had some of the better reviews and things I thought important. I chose this hotel because it had a pool, a gym, a hot tub, guest laundry, free breakfast, in room fridge and microwave, free wifi, in room coffee and more. That has made the stay of "staying in my hotel a lot" much more pleasant. Also, I opted to get the suite (a bedroom and living room), it was just $10 more a night and very worth it! I averaged about $80 a night that I was there. Also, the hotel was gated, security guard at the gate 24/7. In addition to all this, the hotel offered a shuttle to the airport, to all of my appointments, the embassy, the border, to DHL/FedEx locations, local restaurants and shopping centers. Anywhere I needed to go, they took me. When I was ready to come back, I called and they picked me up within 15 minutes or so. Having a microwave and fridge with a ride to the grocery store cut costs on eating out, though I ate out a lot anyway just because I love the local flavor. In addition, it cut the need to go out. Then of course, the free breakfast in the morning helped a lot to. The breakfast wasn't just a continental style breakfast, but rather eggs, potatoes, beans, fruits, cereals, juices, milk, yogurts, coffee, quesadillas and more. It also changed a bit each morning. The hotel was clean and nice with daily room cleaning service. Beautiful and well kept with the staff more than willing to help any way they can. They bent over backward for me. They also had room service for dinner with most meals running around 70 to 100 pesos (not a bad price at all considering it was room service and 100 pesos translates to about $6.50 American dollars.) Almost everyone here was staying here for a consulate visit or business with the embassy. A very large grocery store was about a 5 minute walk, 1 minute drive up the street. It was a chain store called S-Mart. Never seen one before but they are all over here. Prices for everything., since it is a border town, were just slightly lower than what I'd pay in Utah but not really a significant difference. The hotel has a small sundry shop with minimal necessities in it and a few drinks, including a limited choice of beer. Rooms also have an iron, ironing board, hair dryer, work tables, plug in and wifi internet (free) and a closet with hangers. A note, rooms with fridges: turn your fridge on as soon as you get there. They turn them off to save energy so don't just assume it's cold and put your goods in it. I had to make some copies, which they kindly helped me out with. Laundry tokens were just under 100 pesos but that included soap, dryer sheet and the washer and dryer. The gym was well equipped, never crowded. I'd stay here again in a second and never look elsewhere. My flight arrived in Juarez at 8AM, knowing that check in time usually is much later than that I called the hotel in advance and asked about the possibility of checking in early. The assured me they would do every thing they could but could not guarantee anything. I was here by 9 AM, checked in at the front desk where the clerk told me no rooms were available yet but I they could secure my luggage and I could help myself to the hotel facilities, including a very much needed breakfast and coffee. By 11 AM, they had a room ready for me. Just amazing service. Especially for a hotel that gets booked solid probably every day, they could turn away people and still be full. Simply, the best service oriented hotel I've ever stayed at. I've stayed at well over a hundred hotels so that's saying a lot. It isn't the fanciest, doesn't have the biggest (or warmest pool), no plush bar or restaurant on the bottom floor; but it has everything you need and service, good service.

They were unable to take us to the airport due to our flight being in the morning. They would take sometimes up to an hour to pick us up or be available to take us somewhere which was understandable. It was convenient having the transportation though. The good thing is that the medical clinics provide transportation as well. They will also provide transportation to pick up the medical exam results. The breakfast was great. They provided a traditional Mexican breakfast with beans along with scrambled eggs and ham or hot dog almost everyday. There was also another main dish served that varied from chili with potatoes and meat from chilaquiles. There was also sweet Mexican bread, fruit, yogurt, milk, juice, coffee, and tea. Having a microwave and mini fridge was also very convenient. There are a few places to eat across the street and Wal-Mart is walking distance. The lady, Carmen, who cleaned our room was very friendly and was great at providing information about the city. We felt very safe in our hotel and in the city. There are many other people going for their visa interview and many of them are willing to share their experiences or provide advice.

The rates were affordable, so I booked it for a night as I traveling to NM by morning. It was an 8-hour drive from Austin and I had arrived late, however, I was greeted with smiles from the front desk staff. There was plenty of parking since they shared parking with the next-door hotel. The room I received did not have much of a view, but a tree. It was fine since the room was clean and did not have a musty odor. There was decor representing El Paso and even the headboard had an "ELP" graffiti mural on it which was a nice touch of character. I loved the bright lime green and the blue colors which added more charm to the room. It was modernized with a twist. The bed slept comfortably soft as well as the pillows. I slept like a baby, to say the least. Upon walking up in the morning, I got dressed to go downstairs for breakfast. I was shocked to find out that they had something that I could eat. I got a bowl, some bananas, granola, with Kikkoman Pearl Soymilk in vanilla and had a fulfilling breakfast. I absolutely loved my stay at this Best Western! It was a pleasant experience and I honestly cannot wait to stay again.

The gentleman working the breakfast area was incredibly kind and frequently checked on guests. The manager (jet-black hair and a big black mustache) was also very friendly and welcoming. There's a Starbucks right in the parking lot. The lobby and exterior were attractive and well-maintained. You can tell someone takes pride in the property's appearance. Unfortunately, the guest rooms told a different story. Our first night was spent in a double queen room where the towels smelled strongly of mildew and the heater took forever to warm the room. For the remainder of our stay, we moved into a king suite with a rollaway bed. Initially I was excited. More space, bigger bed, huge closet, and even a balcony! Then reality set in. The balcony was filthy and the view wasn't exactly something I'd call scenic. The bathroom doorknob was broken, the bathroom door didn't fit properly in the frame, and the ceiling was actually coming down. Every time the door opened or closed it scraped against the ceiling. There was also a leak under the sink, forcing us to use our bath towels to soak up water. The biggest disappointment, however, was the housekeeping staff. Several employees appeared visibly irritated when we declined room service early one morning. One employee became noticeably upset and began loudly speaking in Spanish while looking directly at me. When I asked if there was a problem, the answer was "No." Whether there was a misunderstanding or not, the interaction felt uncomfortable and unprofessional. I reported it to the front desk, but it seemed to be brushed aside. Overall, the hotel staff at the front desk and breakfast area were wonderful, but the condition of the room and the housekeeping experience overshadowed the positives.

You want the communal spirit of being around travelers and maybe socializing but also want your own room and private bathroom? You don't want to pay for things that you won't use as you explore El Paso? Everything is barebones and exactly what a traveler needs, like free WiFi, fridge space, a bar of soap, towel, and headphones. It's quite utilitarian, but good quality. You need a space that's in the heart of Downtown in walking distance to all transport and hot spots; stadium, museums, fine dining, concert space? It's literally all that and I was able to walk and use a scooter to get around. It runs $80-$180 depending on the type of the room/bed size you want, but it will all be private and you would never bunk with a stranger. It's a unique little spot and honestly I can see it coming in handy for layovers and hangovers (from a night out). Everything is online and automated but there is a very nice attendant in the front desk. Come check them out and support local! Morning. The Boxstel came in so frickin handy after too many margaritas and shots at Elton's Dueling Piano Bar last night. After spending the night: Easy to get in and out of (locks and code worked perfectly) because instructions were everywhere. Caveat, we had to take the stairs and navigating 2 sets of stairs is difficult when you're buzzed. Thank goodness for the installed railings. We felt safe because 24 hr cameras and monitors. WEAR the Monster headphones provided. You WILL hear the extremely loud train outside, even though the hotel has great soundproofing. You will also hear the springs/squeaks/movement from your bunkmate on top 2 feet above. You will also hear the ridiculously loud and creaky floor boards everywhere. Blessedly though you can't hear other hotel guests Crazy amount of light, but the blackout roll curtains took care of that. Shower took a about 5 minutes to warm, and the pressure was limp as a baby's wrist, but it's expected from these old buildings and the only downtown hotel I stayed at that had decent pressure was PDN, after their upgrade. It was nice that the Boxstel provided towels (even offered extra ones) a small container of soap and a small bar of soap. I've stayed at motels that didn't even give you that for double the price It's cold, and we couldn't figure out the remote to turn on the heat and didn't know who to call, so we kinda suffered though the cold night. On the plus side, bedding is warm, laundered, and the bed for me is amazing. I slept on the bottom bunk and the bed was firm, just the way I like it. Even after bed head and a night of tossing and turning in a strange bed. I never felt claustrophobic. I still wouldn't recommend it for families, since I'd AirBnB still for a home like experience. BUT if they're less than 3 adults, need to be close to the hot spots, want convenience, are on a tight budget, coming in and out of El Paso on a quick trip or business, or exploring El Paso, it's a great alternative option. The decor is medium browns and...calming. The room was spacious enough, the bathroom decent, the fridge definitely worked (we used it), and there was a microwave and blackout curtains. The bed was alright - standard med firm (not pillow top or anything), the bed was made nicely and the linens soft, and all the lamps have outlets for device charging. The continental breakfast is what you'd expect - yogurt, muffins, toast, juice, coffee, fruit, and someone was making waffles. (At least it looked like a waffle maker.) Not sure if it was just our bad timing, but the jacuzzi was not heated. Neither was the pool (not really a complaint, just still kinda cold- summer temps hadn't warmed it yet.) Also, no loungers like in their pictures-and the pool area pic is the most flattering angle for the pool area - it's wedged in a corner and even smaller than it looks. If lounging poolside is your idea- this ain't a relaxing kinda spot. My only other complaint was the cable...no channel listing provided, no channel channel so you could see what was on (or soon to be). And the remote sucked (were tech-savvy enough to manage using such things- this one was either worn out or needed new batteries.)
