As a now former student of SCIT who voluntarily withdrew from the general electrician program if I…read morecould give one piece of advice to anybody who is interested in attending the school I would tell them to stay away. The first class in the program is Code Intro which is taught by Mr. Kahn who is a very kind man and clearly cares about the success of his students, he takes the time to explain everything and will help you himself if you are having a hard time with any of the material covered in the class. I passed Code Intro with no issues and would soon find out that unfortunately after Code Intro the following class and its teacher would be drastically different. The following class after Code Intro is Code A which is taught by Mr. Winton--I was honestly quite surprised at how much of a gap in difficulty there was between Code Intro and Code A the school really does an awful job of preparing you for the transition between classes. Mr. Winton is a nice guy sure, but his teaching method is honestly pretty awful his entire routine is to go over the NEC lecture book for the first half of class and will then briefly tell you about the lab project you have due at the end of the week, he barely takes any time to explain what you need to do in the lab and doesn't really tell you how to do it he just assumes that coming straight from Code Intro you'll know what to do even though students at that point most likely have had no experience working on a panel. Mr. Winton also for lack of a better term seems to have pretty bad ADHD either that or he just gets very easily distracted because he loves going on these wild tangents and going into these personal anecdotes. He also will literally tell the entire class that students often have a hard time doing well with the exams that he creates, if students are known to have a hard time with the exams you make then shouldn't you consider changing your approach to them? The fact that he so gleefully told us that was pretty amazing...I graduated from a four-year college and boy would I have hated to have a professor like Mr. Winton, I sincerely hope that the school somehow sees this and decides to take action and have a discussion with him. Besides Mr. Winton's subpar teaching methods the work in the lab was honestly never enjoyable, you feel extremely self-conscious about the work you need to do and if you need any help from the lab assistants boy oh boy prepared to feel judged. One lab assistant in particular, Russell, has quite a bad attitude and is extremely judgey and passive aggressive I honestly have no idea how someone like him who seems to have pretty bad social skills was able to become an assistant in a school--maybe he actually is good at electrical work but that doesn't necessarily qualify him to be teaching students in a school. Besides everything I've mentioned one other thing I need to bring up is how cheap the materials department is, all the materials they give you feel extremely cheap and are of course overpriced. One day I forgot my hard hat at home and needed to get one in order to work in the lab that day, I went to the materials department and asked if I could get a replacement one and they actually told me that I had to go to a nearby Home Depot and get one myself. Hard hats are extremely cheap and easy to find I got myself one at Home Depot for $10, the fact that they weren't willing to give me one while I was paying thousands of dollars to be in that class did not sit well with me. All in all this was an enormous waste of my time and energy, had the program continued in a class style similar to Code Intro I most likely would have stayed however unfortunately the quality of the program fell off of a cliff soon after. I luckily had someone paying for my classes and I genuinely feel bad for them spending their money, this program is sure as hell not worth $20k you're better off either finding a different program or just learning a different trade at a community college.

They're out to get your money and leave you in debt going to leave a negative review on the Better Business Bureau. I'm thinking about possible taking them to court for a false advertisement empty promises. they are not accredited honestly I would not even read them a one star

I love acupuncture so when my co-worker told me that South Baylo University provided treatment at a…read morediscount price since you get treatment from student practioner, not doctors directly. I called and was informed 1st treatment is free and $50 for all follow-up if you want to continue treatment. I signed my family member up and went to our first appt. My family received private acupuncture paid with cash with other providers so I know what to expect but boy I was in for a surprise. First, the front office does not cover up patients' name on the sign in sheet. I can see everyone's name and everyone else can see others. I don't like that. The room felt open because it felt like a big cement cubicle with a door since it is open at the top. We can hear everything people say in the hall way if they speak loud enough. The student practioner seemed very nervous and often asked the same question twice or three time. After like 30 minutes of questions, she left the room and came back with a doctor who reviewed with her where the needles would go. After treatment, we thanked them for their service and have not returned yet. Personally, for $50 a visit, I would return if I live a bit closer if I just need light treatment. This is not the place where you go for chronic isssues or specialty treatment. Private acupuncture cost from $110 to $150 per session of 30 minutes to 40 minutes. Parking: easy to park with security guard.

I haven't been to the campus in a while and noticed they were doing renovations. The bungalow area…read moreis really developed; it feels like a little village. It's not hard to find the department you're looking for because they have signs everywhere. There is also a map showing which services are offered. The admissions and counseling is right across from each other, but the rooms are so small that it feels stuffy in there. I'm so glad the food pantry is still operating because it has been a godsend during these trying times. All you need is a student ID card, a current class schedule, and shopping bags (although they might have some on hand). Every semester, you have to do a questionnaire. I've noticed that they have a kiosk, and coming earlier in the day and week means better offerings. Everyone there is very kind and friendly. The campus Wi-Fi is also really quick to connect to and works in the parking lot area.

My adult son with autism was referred to a CSP employment program through the California Department…read moreof Rehabilitation and completed all required documentation, including eligibility verification and releases. We were told he could not enroll in an open-entry, noncredit employment class until completing a counseling intake appointment. The earliest available intake was scheduled for May 20, while the course ended May 21. When I mentioned this to the DSS program coordinator, she cited Title IV requirements, which are not even related to this: https://fsapartners.ed.gov/knowledge-center/library/program/All%20Title%20IV%20Federal%20Student%20Aid%20Programs Because of this timing, he was unable to participate despite completing all required steps. Families relying on open-access, noncredit programs may want to confirm whether intake appointments are required prior to enrollment and how scheduling timelines may affect access. As a parent of a son with autism and as a professional in this field, I do not recommend NOCE for students with disabilities. They add extra barriers to access classes for students with disabilities that are not okay. This program has false advertising; it says it is open entry when it's not. I recommend attending another program. Don't waste your time or get your student's hopes up. These people do not want to help you. They just want to collect their paychecks.
