I gave specific instructions on how medicine was to be administered and it was on the box also and they gave 3 times as much. I called to several times to see how my dog was doing and they said he was doing great. My dog was in good health when dropped off and had just seen the Vet. My dog could not walk by the time he was picked up. He had a UTI and explosive diarrhea in the car. He was missing patches of hair around his anus. (I suspect this had been going on for days and they let the explosive diarrhea go on for days and just combed out the feces from his fur to the point he has bald patches around his anus). I called and the owner finally admitted "Oh, I was wondering why patches of fur were coming out". And then admitted to me he was never given a bath after being in constant urine and feces. If you expect your dog will get medical care when it gets sick at this place ... guess again. I am guessing - by the shape my dog is in that this has been going on for at least a week - and I was being told he was okay. If I could upload the pictures, I would. When you drop off your dog, ask what they will do if it gets sick. When I called every time they lied and said my dog was okay. If they had told the truth, I would have had my Vet visit the kennel and prescribe him medication. (I would have set everything up all on my own. All they had to do was be truthful). Unfortunately, I finally looked at their YELPP reviews and two other owners have had the SAME EXACT THING OCCUR. (When the dog gets sick, they cover it up). Makes no sense. The first thing they should do is inform the owner. PLEASE CHECK YELP BEFORE YOU SEND YOUR DOG HERE. And if you do choose to send your dog here. Make sure your Vet does out of office visits/home visits. And demand they call you immediately if your dog gets sick and you can arrange for your Vet to come to Dog Mountain Lodge; because these people will not tell you that your dog is sick ... even when you call repeatedly and ask how your dog is doing. I have a business in Forest City. A stray cat gave birth to liter of 4 kittens in a storage shed at…read moremy business. We did not know this for a couple weeks, until we went to get something out of storage. The mother abandoned the liter. We hand fed them KLM kitten formula for a couple of days in case she came back. They were doing ok until Tuesday at 5:15pm. One of the kittens was lethargic and visibly having an issue breathing. This was the closest vet to Forest City so we sped down there. We walked through the door at exactly 5:50pm with this poor little black kitten that was obviously in distress. The receptionist was unwelcoming, showed absolutely zero compassion and said "we cannot see the cat, we are closing in 10 minutes"!!! I absolutely could not believe the lack of compassion and care she had for this little kitten. She displayed ZERO EMPATHY!!! Rather than argue with her, we sped off the closest place from there. The poor kitten was breathing, but still struggling! We made it to Finch Hill Veterinary. They were closed but still in the parking lot getting into their cars. THEY ACTUALLY RE-OPENED TO HELP THIS LITTLE ONE!!!! RE-OPENED!!! Unfortunately the vet said the most humane thing to do would be to put her to eternal rest and she did just that. SHAME ON YOU AT CARBONDALE VETERINARY HOSPITAL!!! Isn't compassion a key ingredient to taking care of other people's animals. This was not even our personal pet and we cared enough to have the poor thing treated. I WILL NEVER FORGET "WE ARE CLOSING IN 10 MINUTES" AS I AM STANDING THERE WITH A BABY KITTEN IN RESPIRATORY DISTRESS!!!!

We were not regular clients, but they welcomed us in on the same day without hesitation and treated us as if we had been with their practice for years. Their kindness, professionalism, and love for animals were evident in every interaction. Dr. Gross herself called us (not a staff member), took her time to explain everything clearly, answered all of our questions, and never once made us feel rushed. She even sat on the floor with Copper and showed him such gentle care--it was the most compassionate veterinary experience I've had in over 30 years of dog ownership. The team was also very mindful of expenses, kept in close contact with us throughout the process, and even reached out to our out-of-state vet to get Copper's background information. They went above and beyond in every way. I truly cannot recommend this practice highly enough. Their genuine care and dedication made a stressful time so much easier, and I am beyond grateful. Our little angel from heaven Gizmo (tongue in cheek) can be, ummmm, fussy when manipulated by humans. So finding the right,new place, with new hands is stressful for all. Anyway, we dropped him off at noonish. Julie, the groomer, had the dogs stacked up in her salon like the planes on the runway at LaGuardia. She is busy. Amazingly, only one barking. A pup, she said, didn't yet know the rules. YES MA'AM. No fooling around here. Gizmo went through the entry gate willingly YAY! and we left. Several hours later, we got the call. Picked him up, a perfect cut. She said he got fussy when she did his nails and feet but we had warned her accordingly and she said it was quite common. Success!

Drop your buddy off and in 2-4 hours I am usually hearing from them, calling for a pickup and when I get there the dog is not shaking and appears unscathed by the experience and is non the less for wear. I have never had a groomer who cared about my pet the way they do. They do a great job with my Shih Tsu. This breed can get nervous but Harley seems to love the place. The prices are cheaper than the other groomers around also. The place is small, but don't let size fool you. They are BIG on customer service, (both the dog and me). We spoke as if we were old friends and she even suggested a diet for me to put Denali on while we were away to keep her thin. Well, to be honest to get her thinner. I followed her suggestion and when I dropped her off for the 11 day stay it was with what I thought was a full stay's worth of Green Beans for my beloved pup. From the first to the last days Kristy kept me in the loop how Denali was doing with text messages, Facebook Messages and lots of pics. It looked like Denali was having so much fun that she wasn't going to want to come home! I just picked Denali up and thank G-d she remembered me and literally leapt into my arms as she recognized the whistle that I have for her. She looks GREAT! The green bean and kibble diet has worked like a charm and she is back to her svelt self! I was also pleasantly surprised that while I had not packed enough green beans that Kristy and Allen had gone out of their way and purchased enough for her to last the rest of the stay. One doesn't see that kind of dedication that often anymore. I will for sure be bringing my dogs back to Golden Delight Kennels!

As I was getting my dog I was informed in a very nasty tone that I would not be charged this time but next time I would be. When I questioned this, being that it was literally 3 minutes, I was attacked. I was screamed at...cursed at...told I was inconsiderate, that we could no longer do business together. I was then blocked from and bashed on the personal Facebook page of the owner. This has happened to not one, not two and not even three other people that I know of....there have been several incidents of this nature that I have been told about. I have seen the unprofessional bashing of customers on Facebook as well. If this is the type of customer service that would make you want to do business with this establishment then I would highly recommend Golden Delight Kennels! After how I was treated I would rather drive to the other side of the County or even into Orange County before doing business with an establishment like this.
