If I could give 10 stars, I would! Dr. Gross and her staff are absolutely phenomenal. We were not regular clients, but they welcomed us in on the same day without hesitation and treated us as if we had been with their practice for years. Their kindness, professionalism, and love for animals were evident in every interaction. Dr. Gross herself called us (not a staff member), took her time to explain everything clearly, answered all of our questions, and never once made us feel rushed. She even sat on the floor with Copper and showed him such gentle care--it was the most compassionate veterinary experience I've had in over 30 years of dog ownership. The team was also very mindful of expenses, kept in close contact with us throughout the process, and even reached out to our out-of-state vet to get Copper's background information. Brian Zintel 1 review Go elsewhere, they are murderers. We took our our 8 year old Jack Russell, Zoey, to them today for an ear hematoma. Basically a swollen ear. We were offered 2 options, simply draining it which can lead to scar tissue, or inserting a tube into the ear to allow it to drain. The tube was what the dr recommended so we went that route. They brought her out to us, instructing us to keep the headway on for 24 hours and that we "should get used to the way she is breathing until the wrap comes off. I stayed with her every moment. 3 1/2 hours after we got home, she just stopped breathing. 30 minutes trying to resuscitate her, and she was gone. All for a swollen ear. MURDER read more

I started bringing my 3 dogs here once I got a place outside of NYC and was staying in Lake Ariel more regularly. It's so much easier to take the dogs to the vet when you can drive them there, and Cherry Ridge is great at working with my Saturday-only availability. I've interacted with three of their veterinarians and many of their staff members through everything from ear infections to vaccinations, diarrhea to heartworm. Everyone is so gentle and caring towards animals, treating my dogs as if they were their own. Medications are always available right there when I pay and we walk out accomplished and on our way to feeling better. When appropriate, they give me a phone call a few days afterwards to check in on my pup's progress. They also have a slideshow of helpful pet facts in the waiting room & exam rooms which I found was a cute touch. Highly recommended! read more

I have been to 3 veterinary clinics in my area, and although CRVC is the farthest from my home, it is worth the trip. The staff are excellent. I used to take my German Shepherd rescue to see Dr Treyes for years, till he had to be euthanized. I just brought my new Siamese to see Dr Diehl. Both docs were awesome. Costs are very reasonable. Really great vet practice with good staff, in-office equipment for testing/x-rays and fair prices. After staying in the area during COVID from NYC and having been to many vet practices over the years, I can say the care and quality of service from their Doctors was excellent. They helped me through putting down my 15 year old pup, and now 6 months later with vaccines for my 5 month old puppy. Even after moving back to the city, I'm still using them as my primary vet and will go out of our way to come back to the area whenever we need veterinary care. I called and asked to get an appointment for my dog who is having some issues. Was told to call back the following day to get an appointment for Saturday. So I call then they tell me that they have no appointments to call the next day and they will get me right in. So I call that day and they told me they can't do anything for me because my pet has never been there before. They should have told me the first day I called that they're not taking any new clients instead of wasting my time for 3 days. I could have used that time to find a different veterinarian. I figured since my father used this veterinarian in the past that I would give them a try since my current dog's vet is kind of far for me to travel to right now. Don't have your pet get sick here because they don't have any same day appointments available. Instead they tell you to call back the next day at 7:30 am so you can pay extra for an "emergency visit". When I tried to get a regular appointment instead, they offered a month in the future. Of course 7:30 the next day, only offers an appointment if somebody else cancels. This offered appointment was at a time I cannot bring the dog in. Their advice, call back Monday when the emergency vet will be in. Emergency vet and same day appointments are $20 more than the standard rate. Making the pet wait 4 days for an appointment and paying extra for it is outrageous. Would they make their mother wait that long for treatment? I think not. How about hiring another vet instead of ripping people off? read more

Would give negative stars if we could. Dr. Trayes was good & thorough, but cut hours & sold practice to Dr. Rutledge a few yrs ago. Rutledge will go through same exact exam rituals in every appt., ie: examine heart, lungs, etc. no matter what pet's issue is & waste time & money misdirecting you & not focusing on problem at hand. His focus is on maximizing collection dollar$ primarily, with pet's diagnosis/treatment coming in a distant second, if at all. Had CRVC been more thorough in testing, follow-up, treatment, & caring, maybe the costs charged would be justifiable. Our Golden Retriever had suffered months with failing kidney function only to learn at 12th hour kidneys completely failed & our dog daughter had very little time left. Thankfully, this was provided by another staff Dr. who appeared much more competent, thorough, & caring. With Rutledge, we were strung along with varying antibiotics, with false hope, and with no proper blood exams administered at all to monitor kidney function since a "wellness" exam visit 5 months ago last September with another Dr. Not sure whether Rutledge suffers from sheer incompetence, a lack of compassion, forgetfulness, awful communication, or a combination of all the above. His attention appears to be elsewhere. As a result, this commonality seems to permeate throughout the office. Rutledge's focus appears to be on stringing you along a path of maximum billings instead of providing the very best care of your pet in order to help pay for the new state-of-the-art "clean" building. I can understand why CRVC always seems understaffed, and why doctors seem to come & go. Clerical staff with a few exceptions leaves much to be desired, right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing, & obtaining a timely appointment is grueling. God forbid you have a real emergency, this place should be the last place to go to. Good Dr's at CRVC seem to work part-time only, office hours are limited, & any available appts often seem to default to Rutledge who appears to be the only Dr available (for good reason). Plan on several months wait for an appt. with a good part-time vet. This practice runs away from real medical issues, & will prefer to send you on a wild goose chase in order to get rid of the responsibility of the proper care for you & your pet. Easy appts like wellness visits, vaccinations, etc. are their bread & butter, & perhaps the only thing this practice could be okay for, but be prepared to wait a long time for it. I wouldn't be surprised to receive one of their "reminder" post-cards, texts, etc. even after informing them of our pet's passing from their disorganization, chaotic environment, lack of follow-up, & follow-through. Anything requiring more difficult diagnosis, treatment, and/or follow-up care, you'd better look elsewhere or you might be at risk of burying your pet. read more

Still, they earned this 1-star review by coaching me to the most expensive thing they could do with little regard to anything other than money, then not transferring the results of the testing I paid for over to my actual vet, who verified upon seeing the bill that I provided that their approach to my situation was, in fact, a little predatory and had me overpaying to the tune of $300. Shame on you. I am fortunate enough to be able to pay, but I wonder how many people who just loved their pet that you've really hurt with this practice? Anything to keep the lights on I guess...hope you see this and take a moral inventory Dr. Gross. I brought my senior cat to an appointment with Dr Henry to titer him for rabies and distemper. Vets in the past agreed he should be an exemption from the rabies vaccinations since a senior cat, a heart murmur you can hear, extreme allergies to possible dry cat food. For three years he has not been vaccinated and his titer a high (4) number. Dr Henry refused to see him if she did not vaccinate him. I was treated with contempt as if a criminal and I stated I would leave but please trim his nails. I waited three weeks for the appointment and why did staff not tell me they would not titer him? Dr Trayes agreed he should not be vaccinated when he treated him for the nose sore. I now need a vet for my cat that will not purposely hurt him. How can vets believe the vaccinations are the only way when the PA state gives exemptions "Kathio said some animals might experience anaphylaxis, a severe allergic reaction resulting in a swelling of the face and possible choking. Animals with heart, liver or autoimmune diseases would most likely be exempt from vaccination due to a threat to their health".? From the law in PA. I would not recommend Cherry Ridge since their abusive behavior. I found a huge number of cat adverse reactions to the rabies vaccine. This is just one copied--"My kitty Misha seemed fine after her rabies injection. It was given in her lower back an inch or two away from her spine. About 5 years later, while I was on vacation, my sitter called to say I needed to come home right away. Misha's back broke. The vet said that a sarcoma formed in the area of her vaccination and ate through her spine. There was nothing they could do at that point. He shared with me that they were finding more instances of injection site sarcomas. This was in 1996. I have refused the injection for all my cats since then but recently my kitty Murray required dental surgery and the vet said by law I had to vaccinate him and if I didn't and he bit someone in the office, he would be put down immediately, so I relented. They said they now do the injection into the leg so if FISS occurs, they can easily remove the leg and not lose the cat. This is disgusting and very disappointing. The laws need to change. All my cats are indoor cats, I never board them and they don't come in contact with any other animals. How can they continue this barbaric procedure." read more

I have always been impressed with the kindness and the professionalism of all the staff here, no exceptions. Owning animals requires a financial commitment and the old adage, you get what pay for ,holds true. Coming from another state , I find the charges to be very reasonable. I have never had any of the vets push any treatment that was not appropriate. The Front Desk Staff does everything they can to accommodate my animals. ( I have many) I find all the vets to be skilled and compassionate. They will listen to me and provide appropriate feedbacks. Complaining about prices and bad mouthing the practice does not help your animal. For some reason,some people believe vet care should be next to nothing. This is one reason why the suicide rate among veterinary professionals is the highest in the nation. It is because they want to give good care but are bombarded with negative comments. This clinic is an AAHA facility. What that means is that it must pass rigorious standards not unlike human hospital. Before I moved to this area, I searched for such a facility because I knew what it meant and knew that I would get is what I paid for. read more

I have 3 large husky mixes and we recently moved here from California. I made an appoi tent for all 3 for checkups and shots as well as a quote for a neuter. The staff is very friendly, and i like the doctor but, I had an issue when he clipped 2 of my dogs nails without asking and then charged us. When I brought this to the staff attention, they refunded both of these charges and gave us a $ 10 off cert. Over all, its a very nice place and they seem to live what they do, which means the animals benefit from that love. read more

The front desk staff were so helpful over the phone when discussing whether or not to make an appointment, and they answered all of my questions thoroughly and with care. Equally, the staff who actually saw and examined my cat were very thorough, asked great questions and were clear about treatment options/costs. We were greeted when we arrived, the records we brought were scanned quickly, we were seen on time and everything ran smoothly. I will also add that this clinic is surprisingly affordable. BEST VET EVER! Our dog had a bit of an incident while we were spending the weekend in the area. Liz took our call with 10 minutes left till close. She spoke to Dr. Rutledge and they graciously offered to stay late to see us even though we were 30 minutes away. Dr. Rutledge and the 3 vet techs were there over an hour after close helping us. Aside from the A1 service, Dr. Rutledge is a Penn grad who is very knowledgeable and willing to answer all of my questions in lay terms. Prices are shockingly low as well. It is the best animal clinic in the area and both Dr. Rutledge and Dr. Trayes have taken superb care of our newfie, anatolians, dachshunds, sheltie and cats.... if only the expanded to equine! Our animals have always needed some extra care and Cherry Ridge has been a wonderful family vet to all of them. My dog Atticus had a skin infection. I tried everything I could by myself, but seeing him scratching and practically chewing himself to death was just killing me. I called Cherry Ridge Vets and they saw him right away. They understood I had a strict budget I needed to stay within, and they took awesome care of my baby. Its only been a few days now and he has stopped chewing and itching. His fur is growing back in, and being an Irish Setter, that is ultra important to his self esteem. The yeasty smell from the infection is almost gone, and he seems to be in fine spirits! I am very pleased with the attention and care we received for Atticus, and all within our budget. This place used to be a five star for sure. Their vet techs are simply wonderful with truly kind and caring dispositions. I normally see Dr. Trayes, who has always been so helpful and kind, while offering sound advice in a conversational manner. Recently I had to see another newer vet due to my pups skin issues coming to a head. What an awful experience. I am an educated person but not in vet science. I was either talked down to or spoken to in terms only a vet would know or simply not listened to. When I pointed out small bumps on my pup and asked what they could be I was given no real answer. I have concerns about the constant use of antibiotics and asked if there were other meds/remedies we might try since even antibiotics were not helping. This led the vet to ask me how we should proceed. Really!!! So, a 100 dollar shot later, that was supposed to stop all my poor pups itching in less than 48 hours, has done nothing. Cone of shame still on, still itching and no direction to go in. I think would have gotten a better result with Dr. Trayes. I should have waited to see him but felt she needed to be seen.
