Gradys is a nice little dive bar right down the street from my where I grew up. I remember trying to sneak in with friends when we were kids. It was a pretty big deal at the time. I've been there more this past year than I ever thought due to moving back to my old neighborhood. The have karaoke 6 - 7 nights a week with a pretty regular crowd. I wish they had a better selection of songs though. The food is cheap bar food. Perfect if you get the munchies. They even have "freedom fries" on the menu. Drinks are cheap too. The shot girls are a bit bothersome. It seems like they're always asking and interrupting. Gradys is great for people watching and has some interesting regulars. read more

This is your typical hole-in-the-wall bar. The servers aren't friendly. I had the same server the last time I went and she was just as bad. I went there last night and as the server behind the bar was taking my drink and food order, she was blowing her nose. I understand people get sick but can't you wait until our order is done? Made me want to cancel my order. I didn't see her go back to wash her hands afterwards either so there's a lost star for that. I also gave a missing star because I don't like that you have to spend at least $10 to pay with a card. Karaoke is fun, but the service makes the experience less enjoyable. read more

This place is very cool. Great dj on a Saturday night, super cheap drink prices, friendly bartender and talkative guests. It is super clean and well maintained as well. Doesn't hurt that the inside is lighted up with my favorite color green! Yea we'll be back and so should you. read more

So I wanted to get out of the house for a few, have a drink or 2 and maybe watch some sports. Decided to venture out to Grady's, as I have done in the past for such occasions. Upon arrival, there were a few people inside and the DJ was playing some classic rock music and it was LOUD. Yes, I realize this is a bar and the music should be up there in volume but wow, you literally had to scream at the person right next to you for the remote possibility of being heard. Anyhow, bartender was nice enough, very attentive and prompt with her service. Was able to watch the tail end of the ball game, no sound of course due to the music but that's no big deal. After a few drinks decided to order some food, burger and fries...nothing crazy but they do have quite the selection from the looks of the menu I was provided. Got my food, burger was borderline raw....had asked for medium but this thing was literally bleeding all over my plate. While I do like my burgers a bit more on the cooked side, I don't mind some rarer meat so I decided to just suck it up and eat it instead of having everything remade. The fries were very good, well fried but the amount served was very much lacking for the price they charge for them, I think there were about 8-10 fries in total in the basket I was given and that is not an exaggeration. By this time it was getting a bit more busy inside and outside. There was even one lady smoking inside, right at the bar and nothing was done about that. Regulars? Appeared likely and that's really not excusable but I wasn't abiut to say anything that would be causing a scene there, there was already nearly a fight there involving a woman who was allegedly an employee there but attending as a customer on this day. Pair this with the vulgarities peppered into the songs sung by the DJ instead of some of the actual lyrics and I had decided that I had my fill for the night. I live across the street. It's a nice quiet bar mainly locals hangout. Good for a cheap drink and a burger. Karaoke is always fun there.

Grady's is a the definition of a dive bar. Though the decor of the place might lead you to believe that is would be a middle-of-the-road place to have a drink, this isn't that sort of place at all. Granted, they do have some awesome drink specials; $1 keg beers, for example. It was this that drew me to Grady's initially. That was before I learned that all the other bars in town have upgraded - they no longer cater to riff-raff, so the riff-raff goes to Grady's. It's a biker bar now. The night that I was there, a few fights broke out, and I almost got into a scuffle myself because some guy thought I was trying to steal his seat when I was actually waiting for a drink. $1 drinks aren't worth it. One of the highlights was watching the bikers do karaoke. I hate to buy into stereotypes, but one guy who could barely stand did sing "Free Bird"... and it seemed totally fitting. I'd only suggest coming here as a one-time thing or at the very end of desperation. Though the possibility for some interesting people-watching is there, so is the possibility of losing teeth over a misunderstanding. read more

I give them a FAT 0*...Looks are deceiving here. My boyfriend and I started going here for steak night, pretty good the first 3 times, then they went "Very Cheap". Then I was offered a bartending job which lasted like 2 months. After someone hit my car and I asked for the camera to be looked at things went south. My first clue should have been how dead it was on a Saturday night. However, they had karaoke so we went last night. It was terrible. It took 45 mins to get one drink...and like I said...dead. I tried to order a BLT but I guess they were out of bacon...that's fine. I order nachos and they come back cold. I guess the waitress was also the cook for the night? Weird. Definite dive. Great place to go with more than a few friends. They have karaoke most nights of the week. Also, they have really cheap draft beer and shot girls who walk around. It's pretty hilarious, someone also came and asked us if we wanted to by roses for our special ladies. It's dirty and dingy and everyone piles up near the door to smoke, so it's pretty smoking inside still, but I loved this place and would go back often if I lived closer. read more

I'm being generous with 3 stars. It's more like 2.5. Definitely a dive bar but you know that going in. Just like the previous reviews mention the place is smoky, dark, and dirty. Drinks are cheap and the food is typical bar food. Came in with my best friend and her husband. Our waitress Shannon was friendly. Asked for a cosmo with Absolut and they had to look it up. It's NOT a martini bar. It tasted more like a Smartie (candy) but surpringly not bad, just not strong. They have karaoke 7 nights a week. It was pretty dead on a Saturday night so we had a burger, a few drinks, and left. If you don't have high expectations this place is fine to get your drink on without breaking the bank. read more

I've been here a coupla times. Both on accident. The first time I thought one of my friends would be hosting karaoke, but there was miscommunication so I ended up there on my own. Grady's had someone else doing the karaoke, but the vibe was kinda strange (questionable characters at the end of the bar) and I didn't feel like joining in and got out. The second time I was getting my car serviced at Belle Tire right down the street and I went in Grady's to wait and have a beer. Neither visit made me want to necessarily return. From the outside, and from first glance one would think this is just a run of the mill dive bar. However, once you get past the first impressions you will find one of the finest and most comfortable bars in the area. The food is seriously out of this word. You world never expect a surf and turf menu from a corner bar but chef Joe LaFata delivers a menu that is unmatched by any bar food in all of metro Detroit. The food specials include crab legs, lamb chops, steak, and jumbo shrimp in portion sizes that I have never experienced at a "dive bar". The $1 dollar beers are what brings you in but once you take a chance on Chef Joe LaFata's dinner options you will be challenged to find a better dining option in the city. If you haven't been to Grady's recently, now is the time to give it one more shot. And please come hungry because I can promise you, you will not leave hungry. The food is unbelievable. Lets start out with, this is not a bad bar, if you're in to 70's and 80's music and like being surrounded by "regulars" (or bar flies as I call them). Now if you are a band, and think that this would be a nice place to play, be careful. My friend's band was booked to play here for a Halloween party. They had already played this bar last year and had no problems. However, this year, the owner felt that she needed to stand up for the 2 or 4 "regulars" there that night that did not like the music. She started yelling at the bad to turn it down and that they were too loud. The bad had everything so low all you could hear was the drums and they were not even being mic-ed. The 2 or 4 "regulars" took it upon themselves to start yelling at the band and telling them to get off the stage. When the band stopped and started talking to the owner, asking what the problem was (and nicely, not rude), several of the "regulars" rushed the stage and tired to start a fight. The band decided to just pack up and go to another bar (as did the other band there that night , they knew that the "regulars" would not like their music either). As everyone that was there that night to watch my friend's band was leaving, half (if not all) of the Roseville Police showed up. As the owner was talking to them saying that the band would not get off the stage (now remember, they were already packing up by this time). Plus the police wanted to know who call this in and who had the "gun". At this time I stepped up and told the officer that we had it all recorded (as we record all our friend's shows for the heck of it) and what really happened and that no one in the band was trying to start a fight and that they were all leaving already. By this time the officer was lecturing the owner about making false claims and wasting the departments time, then all of a sudden her story changed and she denied calling and had no idea who called. Of course that night, neither band got paid. So just a word of advice, if you hire a band called "Devil's Lock", do not expect them to play Bob Seger or CCR... read more

If I could rate Grady's a 0 * I would!!! Me, my uncle, and three other friends attended Grady's on Gratiot on St Patrick's Day 2018.. I had a tab only for myself because everybody else was buying their own drinks and I had bought one round of Jell-O shots and one mixed drink my tab was $16.75.. I get 30-day bank statements well Grady's charged me two transactions..First one of $116.75, second $16.75(which was my tab$16.75).. maybe the bartender made a mistake by adding an extra 1 and thought it was erased or maybe they're trying to Swindle people out of their money..not me..I contacted Grady's in person showed them my bank statement..they have no recollection of the unauthorized transaction..So I file fraud claim and will b filing a police report as well.. Wonder how many people they've been doing that too? anyone that runs a tab at Grady's on Gratiot please pay attention to your bank statement they're double dipping!! read more

no, to that guy michael. I have been going to that bar on and off for about 10 years. They recently put up signs no colors allowed (bikers wearing their colors) it is a dive bar but it's a cool place to go if you are on a budget...there is WAYYYYYYYYYYYY too many karaoke nights thoyugh. There have been a few fights there, but where do you go where alcohol is served that you don't risk the chance of a brawl breakin out??? OK so i used to hang out at Gradys a few years back. they had cheap drinks and karaoke and yes it was a dive bar!! ! I just moved back to the neighborhood and thought i should stop in for a drink. Wow not the same Gradys at all! They did some remolding on the in side :) it looks so much better!!! cute girl behind the bar as well!! it was not busy like it used to be still had karaoke but not 7 days a week. i will be back as i like to sing :) Gradys keep up the good work Hope to see your bar come back to how it used to be!! read more
