Finally decided to try the 1/2 pound burger special! We were the only people in there besides the one person at the bar. I will say it was clean and the other worker was busy wiping down and keeping busy. We ordered a tea and water and then decided on the burger combo special. It took awhile and as we waited a group of 5 people came to sit at the bar and eat. We got our food, we shared the burger and fries and they gave us an extra plate which was nice. The burger was juicy, large, and tasty. The crinkle fries were very good. We checked out and she charged us for the tea. Said the combo only came with soda or a beer. Really? An ice tea couldn't be substituted? ‍ we'll know for next time. $10.99 for 1/2 pound burger that actually looked like it, fries and either a soda or bottle of beer. We would try it again. read more

The Lady is a low-key hole-in-the-wall local hangout with weekday food specials and karaoke on Fridays and Saturdays! Their bartenders are friendly and work hard, drinks are cheap and they have a decent burger for a quick bite. Can't go wrong with the laid-back atmosphere! read more

This is definitely a dive bar review, and that's exactly what it is. The bartender was friendly and the beer was cold, not too expensive for the area. The bar itself was fairly large and accommodated many people, and the sit down area was good size too. I didn't get a chance to eat here, though their kitchen was large and fairly busy. The sliders were cooked to order which is refreshing because the last time I was at a different place it wasn't even close to what I wanted. The order of fries was a nice portion and fried properly. On a bar-hopping night, I started here. I ordered a Labatt Blue Light and it was delivered by a friendly bartender for $2.75. That would turn out to be the cheapest of the night, as the other 2 bars each charged more. The Tigers were on and the TVs all displayed the game as we continued to lose last night. Not a great first experience. Stopped in for a burger and fries. Half pound burger is $10.99 add fries for another $2.99. specified burgers to be cooked mid rare, Both were cooked well done. From the outside this clearly looks like a gentlemen's establishment. From the inside this looks like a gentlemen's establishment. Sorry to dissapoint, but it's not. For some reason this bar chooses to have no windows (insulation problem?), a dance floor with a mirrored ceiling (where a pool table is now) and a cage in the corner. It's worth a trip just to ponder this... I had the chicken fingers and an order of seasoned fries and it was solid bar food. The beer was pretty cheap although the tap selection wasn't going to blow anyone away. It's one of those bars where every square inch is covered with some sort of paraphernalia. YES! A thousand times yes! Cheap drinks and a laid-back atmosphere with a local crowd that's very friendly and welcoming. There's a dance floor with retro lights, mirrors on the walls, and even an old stripper pole (no nudies these days). Kinda cramped and hard to find seating after a certain hour--and the music can be VERY loud--but let's face it, we're not going to unwind from the week by meditating. During the day (especially popular at lunchtime), they also have very cheap but very delicious 1/2 lb customizable burgers (or so say many I've talked to about it). Ohhh the Sentimental Lady Saloon. Where do I begin.... The Lady as we call it has been a favorite watering hole to the men of Selfridge for some time. There are stories that have been told of the entire bar lined with military uniforms. Of course, that is just an old wives tale. The reason why this place is so famous is becuase they have been coined as having the best bar burger. Of course the only opinion that matters is that of Bar Burger Quest. The 1/2lb. Burger with American, bacon, and L.T.O. Burger - 3 Price - 4 Service - 4 Overall - 3.8 The Juicy Lucy came with 4 pieces of bacon, American, L.T. and grilled onion. Burger - 3 Price - 3 Service - 3 Overall - 2.5 As you can tell we thought the burgers lacked flavor and were a little overdone. Fortunetely we both like cheap beer and you can't beat $1 pints! This is a place that will always be a Selfridge favorite. read more

I have often gone to this bar and have never had a bad experience. That is when I have gone at night with the later shift of bartenders working. Today I was very disappointed when I went in for dinner around 630. I sat at a table with my friend and waited for over ten minutes to be acknowledged by the staff. The two bartenders were not busy and looked over at our table frequently but refused to come over and help us. We were never offered a drink or a menu or anything. We eventually got sick of being ignored and left for a restaurant across the street with much better service. read more

I arrived with a group of friends around 11:30 PM. The place was packed, as it was karaoke night. My party and I start ordering drinks. The evening took a turn when an ambulance arrived; it turned out to be for the same waitress who'd been taking care of us (and doing a fine job, at that). As I was preparing to cash out, my tab was completely mixed up. My surname was spelled incorrectly, I had several bizarre drinks on my tab which I did not (and have never in my life) ordered, and the woman behind the counter had no answer to any of this. Okay, no problem. A girl was taken away by emergency services; I can expect a little confusion to ensue. She then asks me to come around the bar to look at her monitor. Here's where my one-star comes in. While continuing to try to hammer out the issue, the very obviously drunk bartender I was talking to accuses me of "having an attitude" and being apathetic toward the waitress' distress... because I was standing with my arms crossed. That's it. I didn't say or do anything to merit that accusation, I literally just stood with my arms folded. She continues to pepper her language with four-letter words and drunken rudeness, even as I tried to defuse the situation. She eventually slams a receipt for me to sign down on the counter with a pen and turns away. I requested one to take with me, and she ignored me completely. $5.50 for two pints of Miller Lite isn't bad. The service and attitude of that particular member of the wait staff? That was bad. Terrible, I'd say. Her attempt at inculpating me was absolutely unacceptable, and I hope this woman loses her job - for being both extremely intoxicated at work, and for being standoffish to customers who just want to leave without incident. read more

So I wrote a shit review a long time ago because of my shitty experience. I noticed they updated the place so I thought to give a second chance. I was happy to see the bar is cleaner and brighter. Looks way better! The staff seemed to be new too (which is great because the old staff was really unprofessional). New staff seemed really friendly. I think the new place has also attracted new people because the whole atmosphere seemed way more welcoming. I would definitely come back and glad I gave the lady another chance. read more

If you want a little dive bar to go and people watch, this would be it! They have the typical bar food (burgers, fries, chicken strips) stuff like that. I do love the fries though! It needs to be updated, but if you did that, then it would lose its appeal lol. People watching is great. You get a lot of different types of all ages. They have kareoke on certain nights which are usually entertaining, but sometimes a little annoying. Its a hit or miss. Drinks are pretty cheap, especially for liquor. Beer is also cheap, but not a huge selection. Not a horrible place, but not the best place either. read more

I can't add much to the other reviews other than to confirm that this place is very dive-y. The beers were reasonably priced. What I recall being on tap were Sam Adams, PBR and Miluakee's Best, among a few others. This place leaves you with a few "hidden gems" to ponder, including: -The mirrored cage in the back corner... -The stall in the men's restroom didn't have a door. Had a party of 14 to sing karaoké and drink. The entertainment was great. The service and bartenders are another story. Paid cash as we went and still couldnt get bill right. Very weak mix drinks and waited 3 songs to get a beer at the bar while the server was chit chatting. We addressed the issue and then the bartender came to our table and yelled at one of our guests for addressing it. Terrible! We will never be back due to the rudeness to the patrons. read more

This place was charming had a fantastic burger. Unfortunately I couldn't finish it because I looked over and saw a rat run right across the floor like it owns the place. The older lady who seems like the owner wasn't even shocked. She didn't comp my meal which I couldn't finish eating. And I swear I heard one of the waitresses call the rat by name. I don't suggest that anyone eat there ever. If you have to drink there get it out of the bottle. read more

I got in late to the bar around 1am with my service dog. I was looking for something not to crowded and semi peaceful. Karaoke was going on and was a nice treat. The drinks were decently priced and the staff was very friendly and respectful of my Service Dog. It wasn't till the end of the night my service dog was startled by the manager of the bar. Granted things did not start off right in that moment, but outside the manager and staff member were some of the best people I could have met. My service dog is still iffy about the manager and barks at him, but the manager wants to work with me and get him use to the bar so I am able to come in more often. I have never recieved such accommodation at any place before. The only issue I had was that I only ordered 2 shots and 2 drinks, and was charged 3 shots and 2 drinks because the server accidentally poured a double shot the second round I ordered. Other then that, I would recommend this place to people in the area. It's calm and relaxed for the regular person and the staff will work with you to make sure you're comfortable. read more

I like to come here for lunch on Friday afternoons. The 1/2 lb burger is great, the draft beer choices are not that great, but they always have something I like. But the best part is Theresa, the bartender. She is the sweetest, most beautiful bartender out there. read more
