    Hallmark town.

This historic grocery store has been in business since 1918. The decor has a nostalgic vibe and even hosts original hardwood floors placed when the town was a booming mill town. Just a wonderful find! They carry local and organic fruits and vegetables and a wonderful selection of everyday essentials. We were thankful to find this historic grocery store. We were driving through town looking for a nice place to have lunch-however during the winter - not much is open. However---we found goodies to put together a Charcuterie board. Just the Perfect lunch! Service: Excellent and welcoming.

This is the general store for Graeagle. The current hours are Mon-Sat 8:30-6:00 and Sun from 9:00-5:00. They pretty much have everything you'd need as long as they're stocked. It is pricier than the traditional supermarket, but that's the price you pay when there isn't much else around within walking distance. They have liquor as well as lotto, fresh meat and vegetables; a small array of frozen items are available: frozen dinners, veggies, pizza, etc. spices, canned items and pet food is also available. I'm glad it actually worked out that way, because this place was absolutely amazing! Such a cool little country store. Groceries, drinks, beer, snacks, some hardware, toiletries a small wine/liquor section in the back, and a great little deli. There were cute signs all over the walls. I decided to try a cup of "luau Larry's. not so famous homemade chili." The very nice and friendly lady working in the store said that "luau Larry" is her husband. Let me tell you, he makes an amazingly fine chili.... For a 'cup" of chili, it was huge! I enjoyed it very much. I found out that the chili is made with ribeye! It was delicious. It was Hearty, it had a deep rich flavor, and it had a nice little "kick" to it. Well, within what I like for spicy. The lady in the store did tell me that Larry "tweaks" the recipe a little bit from time to time, but she says it's always a great chili. I do not doubt that at all. She asked me if I wanted cheese and onions, and I said, of course! I love fresh purple onions. They are both sweeter and milder than the white or yellow onions. They really added to the chili, as did the cheese. The chili and a soda ran me about 11 bucks. A little bit high, sure, but this is a tiny town up in the middle of the mountains. I get it. Besides, for the quantity and quality, it was worth every single penny. I would come back just for another cup of that chili. Thanks.

I have not stopped at the Mark for quite a few years. I knew the original owners but the business has been under the current ownership for a while. I stopped there believing I could buy fishing supplies, but they did not have what I wanted. I asked politely if I could use their bathroom, and I was told the bathrooms were for "customers only." My reply was, "I walked in here as a potential customer, but I found out you no longer carry what I wanted to buy." The lady I was having this conversation with answered me with, "Cleaning supplies cost money, baby. The bathrooms are for customers only." That reply was inappropriate and unexpected. Good thing I had another 10-12 minutes more driving time. I am thankful it wasn't a child or someone who may have been in dire need of using the bathroom, the closest rest area is about 20 minutes away. I was perplexed at the attitude of the owners, knowing that I was a potential customer, I was non-threatening, and I was polite. I walked out like I walked in, but I will never stop there again. If I could give this business "0" stars, I would.
