It has everything you would need. It's just a downhome general store. You can tell they get a lot of business. It's a very decent sized store. It's well kept, and well organized. The people that run the place were very very friendly. I feel it's more dated and less cheery than the Safeway stores in my town, Roseville CA. The aisles here in Truckee seem narrow, hard for two opposing shopping carts to pass each other. Inventory seems smaller than a big city Safeway. The wine section here is much smaller. We bought a small cake. The quality was not up to that of our home Safeway. During our recent visit, during the week, there were depleted stocks of essentials. The egg fridge was nearly empty. If you are from a big city that has a more modern Safeway, this one is going to be a disappointment. So just get your essentials, get in line, pay and get out. Try not to think about it too much.
