This place is gorgeous and everything is top notch! Pulling in it just feels like a special experience. You can self park, but there is also typically a valet available. The building and the grounds are gorgeous. My niece said "I feel like we're at a castle" and it does have that royal kind of feel. The main room has a lot of space and is gorgeously decorated. It can be set up for a wide variety of events and there is ample space for a dance floor. The outdoor space is equally gorgeous. It is well manicured with tons of gorgeous flowers. The banquet coordinator is very communicative and easy to work with. As was the entire staff. Servers are efficient and friendly and very non intrusive. Maybe most importantly, the food is really good! It is easy to write it in for banquet food, but that isn't the case here. There are a wide variety of options to choose from when you are planning the menu for your guests and honestly, you can't go wrong with any of the choices. Plenty of great spots for photography. I arrived very late, and by the time I checked in, most of the local restaurants had already closed. I figured dinner wasn't happening. That's when Mark at the front desk stepped in and offered me a slice of pizza and a few leftover wings. After a long day of travel, that simple gesture meant more than he probably realized. When you're hungry, it's late, and you're back in your hometown, kindness like that leaves an impression. This is more of an old-school hotel, and I mean that as a compliment. Real drinking glasses instead of plastic cups. Friendly people. A comfortable atmosphere. It has a nostalgic feel that reminded me of a simpler time. The location was perfect for everything I wanted to do while visiting Western New York, making it easy to reconnect with places and memories that matter to me. Is it the newest, fanciest hotel around? No. But it offers something that's becoming rare--genuine hospitality and people who care about their guests. The room I booked slept up to 4 people, a bunk bed and a large twin, huge room with full kitchen, micro wave, full refrigerator and bath room. This is a recently remodeled lodge, everything looks new, very clean and the owner is very friendly. The lodge has other room options, and the room rates are better then what you will find in the area. If you are visiting the area I highly recommend staying and driving the extra distance to fishing areas.

The food court is separated off from the man area but still allows for a view of the fun. We found the lowest price ticket still pricey, had it been less, all of us would have gone through but again it is well done so you get what you pay for. The un chaperoned teen groups roaming around were mostly well behaved.

This was a very cute little festival! It wasn't really what I expected out of a 'Fall Festival'…read morethough, more of a downsized art festival with a few added elements at the Teddy Roosevelt Inaugural Site. There were a pretty fair handful of vendors though, displaying some pretty awesome stuff that I've never seen before (and some that I had). I mostly enjoyed the young man who refurbishes antique typewriters, and Mermaid and Weasel had some freaking adorable pierogi keychains. I got suckered into some African shea butter that will no doubt get a ton of use with the coming winter months, as well as a print from the always awesome Buffalo History Buff. The bands they got to play here were fantastic too! A new favorite of mine, The Observers, definitely gathered a crowd. I really enjoyed listening to the musicians I've never heard of before, too. I think it was busy enough that they should have found a few more vendors to display their wares since there was a lot of empty space by the stage toward Allen & N. Pearl. But other than that, I really enjoyed myself here! I hope it keeps getting better and better every year.
