My husband and I are long term patients, mainly because we'd rather not need to drive to Chapel Hill or anywhere else for skin issues. Dr. Graham is professional, the staff in the medi spa is terrific and there is never a long wait. Unfortunately, I believe the medical practice over books appointments because the wait time is excessive. I don't think there are many or any dermatology emergencies that need attention before seeing a scheduled patient so there is no excuse for long waits. Waiting 30 minutes is not unusual and if one calls in advance to check if they are running behind, the scheduler is less than helpful. If the patient is over 15 minutes late, they won't be seen and a late/no show fee is billed, but if the practice runs over 15 minutes late, that's ok. read more

I called to let them know I was going to be about 15 minutes late. I have a medical condition that demands immediate attention with almost no warning. I ended up 16 minutes late and was kicked to the back of the line and told I would have to wait 2 hours or more because the doctor had moved on to other patients. Well what happened to that patient's appointment time? I guess they were way early. I respect that her time is valuable, but she clearly doesn't respect that mine is too. When I complained I was handed typical medical doublespeak. The arrogance of this place is so thick you could drive a truck on it. read more

I was very unhappy with my procedure to remove a basal-cell carcinoma cancer on my chest. There ended up being a foreign object like a tiny piece of metal left in stitches. I had to return to see for a third time Dr Austin Newsome. The extra visit, pay the co-pay and then she reduced the ex-large scar with 7 injections int cost me and my insurance money. The MD stated that she would not be removing said object, but instead would insert serval shots of a medication that would possibly eject it. The procedure did not help. The MD did not numb the area before stabbing me 7 times into an already sore ex-large scar from the removal of the cancer! Not professional at all, I will not be returning. I still have to go see another dermatologist to get this little splinter of an annoying thing removed! read more

Doctor removed a basal cell carcinoma from my back, but used non-dissolving material for the internal stitches. Wound did not heal. Returned two weeks later and a nurse removed some, but not all of the undissolved stitches. Another two weeks and the wound still did not heal. Returned to see the doctor, hoping for treatment to encourage the wound to heal. Instead, I got a lecture about how I didn't understand the liability disclosure and sometimes the stitches just don't dissolve. Required to pay an additional $45 co-pay. Doctor and staff were rude, unapologetic, and unprofessional. I canceled all future appointments for annual skin checks. read more

My appointment was for 3:20. By 3:55 i was still waiting to see the Dr. 35 mins. They have absolutely no regard for a patients dignity nor time. Then, after paying the $125 upfront which i was told in advance includes the removal of 15 skin tags, the nurse comes by and tells me i have to pay another $155 on top of that. All of this..... while the Dr still has not even seen me or said hi. When i asked to see the manager i was told that he will phone me at 4:15. Big surprise, that never happened either........ I have been seeing Dr. Graham for several years and she is wonderful. Due to some skin issues she recommended I come to Robin to take care of my blackheads and milias. Robin is fabulous! Unprofessional and unqualified. I sch an appointment and thoroughly explained what was going on with the scaring on my sons back. We went there was charged $100 because insurance didn't cover it. Dr Newsome waa incapable of helping us. She offered the same treatment that my son already had. We explained that we were coming in for laser treatment for the scarring. Just to find out they don't offer or have the equipment to do the procedure. I immediately asked for some kind of refund. They sated our time and money. 50% would of been sufficient . They we're rude and said he saw the doctor and there wouldn't be a refund. So much for the customer. Graham dermatology has low morals and isn't up to par with other dermatologists. read more

The two locations are easily accessible and the newest one in Hillsborough is a brand new well designed medi-spa. The staff are very professional and kind and I know I'm in good hands. I came in for laser hair removal on my legs and they were honest about me waiting until the tan was completely gone from my legs to ensure my experience would be stellar. I went to the Hillsborough office on Dec 7th 2018 I went for Botox and facial fillers. The nurse there(I forget her name, but she worked on a cardiology unit for 8 yrs.) She filled my face with a bunch of Sculpta. She is very poorly trained! I spent a couple of thousand dollars and ended up with some infection and cellulitis and ended up in the hospital! I would not get any facial fillers from her! I went back 3 times to get help and tea bags, and light therapy which did nothing for the excruciating pain! read more

Central Carolina Skin and Dermatology Center is a shady business unable to provide or recover customer service while hiding behind the names of Duke trained physicians. Skeptic of laser hair removal for the past decade I finally decided to give it a try. I was turned off by the hokey website and Groupon but bought anyway. The deal sounded too good to be true, and it turns out it was. After calling to confirm (and yes, it was confirmed) before buying that this was in fact the special they were running, I made my appointment, quit waxing for months, used PTO at work on the day of this appt, answered my phone on two different occasions to re-confirm my appointment a couple days prior to it, and then found out via phone 20 minutes before my appointment (when I was on the way there) that there was a mistake and that my Groupon could not be honored. They could only offer their regularly priced services despite the incorrect advertising, waste of my time and confirmation of the Groupon deal that I received prior to buying. They even had the audacity to say "you aren't the first person this has happened to." The Groupon package of three laser sessions I purchased was 4.5x cheaper than ONE SINGLE regularly priced session. Needless to say, this is not what I signed up for, their prices are not competitive and their customer service and recovery is a joke. read more

What you can be sure of is CONSISTENT incompetence time after time. Plan on waiting every time for 45 minutes to an hour because they will tell you that they will book up to 3 appointments at a time. EVERYTIME we went (went for 6 consecutive months) they failed to call in the prescription so I made countless trips to the pharmacy. You will never get an apology or even the courtesy of a return phone call. If you make an appointment first thing in the morning you may find yourself waiting to get in the office as the staff is consistently late. Finally, the receptionist has a real chip on her shoulder and is rude. I have never dealt with a more discourteous and unhelpful office staff as I have here. Save yourself a headache and go elsewhere. read more

I purchased services to Central Carolina Skin & Dermatology through groupon because the deal was significantly cheaper than purchasing at regular price. The administrative staff at CCS&D were unable to keep track of how many visits I had redeemed and how many I had remaining from the very start. I understand scheduling glitches and computer troubles, but the way it was handled was unacceptable. Front desk staff continued to speak to me as if I was trying to cheat their company and get more visits, implying I owed them more money and was lying about how many treatments I had received. I was made to break down in writing how many treatments I had received, pull out my calendar, use their calendar, and pull up the groupon website to defend myself and what services I had paid for and deserved to receive. They admitted to changing computer systems over the course of my treatment because the old one wasn't up to par, but still insisted I was mistaken rather than giving me the benefit of the doubt and assuming there may have been a computer input error. After my final prepaid treatment and much discussion amongst themselves about how I probably owe them more money, the service provider finally wrote it all out for herself (something I'd done twice before) and told me I don't owe anything, she just needed to break it all down. No kidding. I understand confusion, but the implications of my wrongdoing and having to argue to get the services I've paid for are unacceptable and made me feel awful. I will never go back and I don't suggest anyone else give them their money either. read more
