I've heard about this place saying how good it was well we did a take out order my husband got the cheeseburger it was no bigger than a quarter pounder but unfortunately the quarter pounder has a lot more flavor. I got the pulled pork it wasn't pulled it was chunks of fatty pork. My kids were not impressed either so basically $80.00 bucks down the drain. Food is always amazing here and the price is unbeatable. Everything here seems to be fresh and homemade. I have had chicken sandwiches, horseshoes, and pork tenderloins here and they have all been exceptional. The fries are homemade and delicious. The service is middle of the road but seeing as how normally there is only one worker who is also the bar tender and does the to go orders they do a good job. Back at it again for 217 Comfort Food Week! Trade Winds $5 offering this week is a fried and breaded pork chop covered in white gravy, with mashed potatoes and gravy, corn and a slice of toast. The food was outstanding and I started with a small cup of chili which was phenomenal! On the downside (only reason I am not at 5 stars), the service was interesting. Every table (all 11) were taken during the noon lunch rush and nearly the entire bar was filled as well. That being said, the waitress/bartender was covering everything in the restaurant and you could clearly tell she was flustered and I do not blame her. You have a food promotion running and during the lunch rush...you need three servers minimum! There were three cooks in the back pushing out product at a good pace but she was by her lonesome; get her some help please!! read more

Tried this place for the first time and I was impressed. The place itself is kind of simple but does have tv's and full bar. I tried the First Mate Burger and it was very good. It came with fries that appeared to be freshly cut and they were most excellent. Service was very prompt and friendly. Only observation is lights are way too bright so need to dim those lights a bit. Well fellas what can I say. Today at 1420 I came in for lunch I have been in before with my family. The kitchen was very slow but food was ok. Today I sat for twenty minutes without service. I witnessed other patrons come in and were served. I saw one gentleman eat from a red bowl, must of been eating a late lunch while working. The other gentleman walked by my table twice assisting others. I left but first I spoke to them. I was told they were sorry and they thought the other one had served me. Guys, don't guess. ASK! Atmosphere was ok. Sort of a sports bar. Prices very reasonable. Only bar food was available. Served promptly, but there was nothing special or tasty about the sandwiches. Catsup was served in packets. Servers and people were all very nice. Beers on tap were cold. A safe place to chill and grab some ordinary bar food. Trade Winds saved our lives. As the tornado sirens blasted, the aptly named restaurant was less than a mile away. The food and service were excellent, the ambiance a perfectly subtle nautical theme. Alright, several people I work with have come in impressed with the overall value of Tradewinds based on the quality of food, large proportions and overall prices and I have to agree. The portions are way more than one person needs, but that's a good thing, my wife and I easily shared a meal and walked away stuffed! The fries are very good, they were not over salted, the club sandwich was the largest I've ever seen. You won't be disappointed with a meal here, give it a try!! read more

This place is crazy good. Deff a little divey joint, but the huge portions of amazing food make up for it. The sampler platter has full portions of each item and the pile of french fries you get with dinner are good. Ask for ranch or their to-die-for cheese sauce. read more

Went to Tradewinds with some friends for dinner. For a "pub" and eatery there was a very disappointing selection of beer. I tried one of their drink specials (vodka lemonade) - it was super weak; thankfully it was only $2. I had the pork fried tenderloin sandwich - it was AMAZING! One of my friends had a hamburger - it was very blah. The fries were "homemade", but lacked a lot of flavor. The service was weird. Our waitress was friendly enough but she seemed super pushy - it felt like she was rushing us through our meal. It was weird. I would probably go back because of the pork tenderloin! read more

Spent 10 minutes waiting for a table to be cleaned, never was so I ended up cleaning it so we could sit down. Another 15 minutes went by, and no one came to our table. Stopped in to try a breaded pork tenderloin. It's hard to find a good one anywhere since PJ'S in Dawson closed. Sandwich was very good. Be prepared to share because iys huge. Good place to gamble all your money, and drink occasionally but mostly gamble and then occasionally eat but usually gamble.

Don't go here in a hurry!!! A few months ago, waiter didn't refill our drinks, food took forever to come out, and our table didn't look clean. When the food came out, it was good. Except: they messed up my friends order completely. He had to wait even longer for his food :\ I think the issue is the lack of staff and space.
