I had not been to Gramercy Boutique in a while, and I needed a a dressy, summery top for a dinner at an oceanfront restaurant in Malibu, so I came by. Gramercy did not disappoint! The shop had so many pretty things. I would've gotten more than just one top, but I promised myself I would only spend on what I really needed for this dinner. Gramercy had so many lovely tops in all sorts of beautiful colors, terrific beach coverups, as well as hats, scarves, and dresses. I wound up getting a matching cami and Italian silk over-top in a beautiful sunset orange. It went perfectly with my brown suede skirt and heels for dinner. See my photos for the full outfit! This boutique also has fun and casual tank tops and T-shirts. The shop caters to people of all ages. I enjoy shopping here because there's always something beautiful and items are often discounted. Had the absolute pleasure of visiting Gramercy Boutique today! I ended up speaking with Mercy the owner for quite awhile and she is the absolute sweetest little peach! I went in looking for a new ring because I had purchased one somewhere in the area a few years ago that recently broke. I couldn't remember where I'd gotten it, so while I was waiting for a friend to meet up with to eat across the street I stumbled into this neighborhood gem! So glad I did because not only did she have such a good selection of rings, the whole store is full of some really great items! You can tell that everything is sourced with a lot of care and in this day and age of fast fashion and mass produced items, it was a fun experience to see a little curation. The shop is also full of candles and other little trinkets that she said are from local artisans so I think for the prices you are really supporting small businesses. I was on a bit of a budget but she gave me a fantastic deal on a ring and sent me on my way! But I will definitely be back when I'm ready to do a little more damage! Prepare to spend some time sorting through all the wares, and then you can grab coffee and food at Aroma across the street, and your day with a walk around the neighborhood! Parking can be a little dicey as it's meters on the street, but I park behind in the neighborhood and a lot of it is two hour parking. read more

*It's like a non-coorprate Anthropologie* Handmade items, treasures from markets in Europe, fabulous colors and fabrics, the shop is art itself. I asked if the woman telling me about the leather goods she got from Italy if she was the buyer for the store. (Answer: yes, from the USC MBA holding designer/owner/person I want to be friends with) Her shop is amazing. It was the gorgeous facade and pretty rack with different cuts of Euro-style linen pants that first caught my attention. (Two women who were in the dressing rooms when we arrived left with armsfull of these in various cuts and colors.) The charmingly eclectic variety of items on display on the patio drew me inside to ask questions: What sizes do you have of this shoe? Are there more of the linen barrel leg pants? Is that braided, green belt real leather? What is this place? The more I looked, the more I felt like I was in a Notting Hill boutique. The owner and shop manager were both present, and helpful and warm without being too intrusive. As a family with retail in our blood, I know what an intentional balance that is. Both women were busy finding sizes, checking for colors, and chatting easily with all four customers while we were there. Honestly, I had no intention to buy. Just walking around was enjoyable enough. But I left with bags full of gifts AND a discontinued style of shoe to replace my literal favorite pair from over a decade ago (we both found them in NY). I called my husband to tell him he should be so proud of me for all the things I wasn't buying. (Though I threw in another thing and venmoed my mom for it before she checked out.) Anyway, my mom and I came to meet my brother at a nearby restaurant (highly rec a reservation at John and Vinny's around the corner to round out your trip here), thought we'd take a walk before hitting the road, and left hours later to grab a Mexican Coke and electrolyte water at a taco bodega. Update to my first review. Owner said she would make some changes. Went back after a year and nothing has changed. Saw the same outfits they have at Soto for $20 more each piece. Everything still jammed in. Purses hanging oddly on the wall. Outside looked like a garage sale. The sales girl was nice and said hello, no music on in the store, which felt awkward walking around the store. Very quiet, too quiet. Just doesn't have a good selection and mildly overpriced. They have adorable stuff and I would have bought four or five things today to support small business in my area, but they were not enforcing the mask rules and even one salesperson had her mask below her nose. When I stepped away from a customer with no mask, she said, "Oops. I left my mask in the dressing room" She then went in, put it on, came back out for something else went in and came out again with out the mask......and sneezed. Every other store on the block enforced the rule and had hand sanitizer sitting at the entrance of their stores. I will never go in again. Covid or not, there utter disregard for safety was inexcusable. read more

A friend of mine wanted to stop into Gramercy and asked me to join her. I wasn't even in the market for buying any clothes that day, but the owner, Merci, was very welcoming and her clothes are so beautiful. Merci was wearing a beautiful linen jumper that day, and I fell in love with it. The jumper she was modeling came in several colors. I wound up buying two colors that day! Then, a week later, I swung by Gramercy and bought a third color. Suffice it to say that a short while later, I stopped by Gramercy again. I wasn't content until a bought a fourth color jumper! ha! These jumpers are SO comfortable and SO adorable, that when I'm walking down the street, I literally get stopped by strangers, complimenting me and asking me where I bought my jumper.
