April Tuesday 16th by 11am I have tried to have it returned and the GIRL who was there refused to return money I could only have it returned today with a GUY who was there. It could have been a good experience but was not. NOHO store was where it happened. She could just have returned and everyone would have a great experience. But she didn't.

Got started in leather crafting from watching Ytube and decided to give them a visit . Very nice friendly staff to help you out with your leather needs. I picked up some leather hides and tools for my projects. Right off the freeway. Easy to get to.

What a GREAT place for any leather crafting. I can't imagine getting into leather crafts and not paying this place a visit as it has an EXTENSIVE inventory of tools, hooks, buttons, stamps & everything you would need to create anything with leather. I am new to leather craft as a friend recently picked it up as a hobby. Having only visited Sav-Mor Leather in DTLA (highly recommended by the way), this is a nice change as it's really organized and a more polished store as opposed to a leather warehouse. The staff is nice & friendly. They are very knowledgable & approachable which is good. Not too sure how prices range on a grand spectrum of things as most of these items can be bought used on eBay. My take on it- it's just nice to have brand new tools to work in to. I'd pay the extra amount to get these new tools and they are each nicely packaged. Overall: this is an all inclusive leather store. It's like a Michaels craft store but just for leather and a lot smaller haha. Definitely check this place out

My first leather project, thanks Dale!

There were times when I worried about it survival. Because being a cowboy hasn't always been popular. And that's what the general store specializes in. Cowboy gear for women, men and children.. Well, like a popularity certainly not the case anymore at the general store. They have incredible merchandise for both men and women and a few for kids. Their selection makes western wear look cool and stylish. There were definitely items in there I wanted to buy. They had some gorgeous clothes for women. Styles to put wranglers as a shame. These clothes are authentic and yet made of great quality fabrics and materials. I don't think I've ever seen a greater selection of cowboy boots for women and kids. The price goes from about $2000 all the way down to $200. So there's something for everyone. The clothing line for women is very western as you would expect. But the quality is absolutely amazing. Service is really funny. The people waiting on you are definitely a throwback from a different era. They most certainly aren't used to servicing women like me, but they did so graciously with a smile. It's kind of like having your grumpy old grandpa waiting on you, but you know he adores you no matter what. When I left, they were all smiling, and it was clear that they were proud to work there. I love the decor, the store and the vintage posters. It's like stepping back in time. Please go visit the general store and all the other merchants along that block. There are some Van Nuys, greatest craftsman and merchandisers and they need to be frequented and honored.

I asked if the woman telling me about the leather goods she got from Italy if she was the buyer for the store. (Answer: yes, from the USC MBA holding designer/owner/person I want to be friends with) Her shop is amazing. It was the gorgeous facade and pretty rack with different cuts of Euro-style linen pants that first caught my attention. (Two women who were in the dressing rooms when we arrived left with armsfull of these in various cuts and colors.) The charmingly eclectic variety of items on display on the patio drew me inside to ask questions: What sizes do you have of this shoe? Are there more of the linen barrel leg pants? Is that braided, green belt real leather? What is this place? The more I looked, the more I felt like I was in a Notting Hill boutique. The owner and shop manager were both present, and helpful and warm without being too intrusive. As a family with retail in our blood, I know what an intentional balance that is. Both women were busy finding sizes, checking for colors, and chatting easily with all four customers while we were there. Honestly, I had no intention to buy. Just walking around was enjoyable enough. But I left with bags full of gifts AND a discontinued style of shoe to replace my literal favorite pair from over a decade ago (we both found them in NY). I called my husband to tell him he should be so proud of me for all the things I wasn't buying. (Though I threw in another thing and venmoed my mom for it before she checked out.) Anyway, my mom and I came to meet my brother at a nearby restaurant (highly rec a reservation at John and Vinny's around the corner to round out your trip here), thought we'd take a walk before hitting the road, and left hours later to grab a Mexican Coke and electrolyte water at a taco bodega. About twenty minutes later, I called again and spoke with the owner/manager because we would have been driving during rush hour traffic that evening. He assured me it was "no problem" to hold the items until the following day and confirmed that Curtis had already set them aside for us. The next day, after making the long drive, Curtis brought out the wrong item entirely. When I reminded him that I had specifically described exactly what we wanted, he tried to steer me toward a completely different product instead. Then he admitted to his boss that the item I wanted had already been sold. This was inconsiderate, unprofessional, and a complete waste of our time, effort, and gasoline. If a store agrees to hold merchandise for customers -- especially customers making a significant trip -- they should honor that commitment. Very aggravating experience. Honestly, we would have been better off ordering from Amazon.

I had to take five dresses at a time the fitting room attendant was giving me five at a time I probably tried on like 10-15 wedding guest dresses. She was helpful and nice at first but also when I saw her and the manager in the fitting room when I walked in I immediately got judgmental vibes. From the raging bitches like they were talking about me and my appearance in their foreign language I felt like they were gossiping about me it was quite obvious. I asked the attendant to help me find dresses in the required colors for the wedding and in a bigger size and she found one pretty dress but in the wrong color. I asked for a lace dress I found in a bigger size which she had told me didn't exist and made me search the plus size section on my own walking without help knowing full well I was in pain. She told me every dress looked good on me when it didn't and the Hispanic lady gave me honest opinions. I'm not even gonna speak on the body con dress they gave me that showed my whole crotch! NOPE NEXT! So I accidentally got makeup on one ill fitting pink dress which they saw and were forcing me into buying it! Is had a budget and couldn't afford it. Just tried it on for size. They were being cruel and trying to make me buy a dress I had no intention of buying. I get it you break it you buy it but that was unprofessional! I offered to clean it i asked for water hand sanitizer and a paper towel they didn't give me water and refused to let me into the bathroom I got the stains out with the towel and sanitizer! I tried on more dresses while the manager constantly banged on my door demanding the dresses back "GIVE ME THE DRESSES GIVE ME DRESSES!" I hung them over the door I was crying she snatched them as if her life depended on it and angrily said she'd be looking for more stains. I came out in a flowy pink satin silk dress I tried on and gave them the one that had the cleaned up stains. Not a single thanks from any of them for making the dress up for resale! In fact they had the absolute audacity to stand there point at the dress I put on and accuse me of nonexistent stains on the dress! I told them "That was there when I put it on my face didn't touch any part of that dress and it wasn't a stain it was a shadow! I was crying ATP I went back to the dressing room the lady kept asking if the dresses I gave her to hang up were ones that I wanted and that she'd have to be the one to hang them up. What a lazy attitude! It was bad enough she didn't help me earlier! I told her "Ma'am I'm giving them back to you I don't want them." I'm pick another one. The manager came back to bang my door again and I heard some customers talking shit after the manager asked me a stupid question "Why are you trying on clothes if you don't know your size?" I asked her if she was serious and that was the stupidest question I've ever heard. Uh because I lost weight?? I was crying and the other women said "I am a loyal customer I don't need to try things on here to know my size I can go home and return it if it doesn't fit blah blah blah" and saying the same thing as the manager and I called her out for not only being in the fitting room but it must be nice having the ability to always do that and for a fact that your size changes when you gain or lose weight like I Have and that's what fitting rooms at stores are for." unless they plan to stay the same size lol. That shut them up. I forgot to mention when I walked back into my change room after being blamed for a stain I didn't make I was already crying and yelling and I told them to their faces that I've never been treated so horribly by store managers and employees and this was the first and last time I'd ever do business with them and they lost my business and lost me as a customer. And that they should've thanked me for removing the stains! I picked my dress went to the register told the customers what happened borrowed one's phone to call my sister to ask if she wanted matching dresses she said no and I told her I will never go to the store again and said I'd tell her why later. Thanked the nice customers and told the cashier that helped me on the floor earlier what happened that I'd be complaining to Yelp and she said that the store is closed on maps so there's no number but now I understand why it's unlisted. I bought the dress and made it clear that the only one I'm doing business with is her that she deserved the sale and that I hope the other two get fired. Then I left went to iHop told customers there my experience and not to go there before using the restroom and going home. I see why the store isn't listed like I said and to Me well it's permanently closed for me too. I'm never going back that was it for me. One and done. Fuck them and their store!

Some people really are not happy in whatever that they DO in their life and like to trash a perfectly normal business in the most ugliest way that's NOT even possible. I have been to this place literally decades ago when they 1st opened.... few times. Haven't been there in decades. Didn't really need or want anything. I happened to be in the area on the 6th of November, and after having lunch with a friend at IHOP, decided to go in and see what has changed SO DRASTICALLY that people are trashing this establishment? With that being said I walked in and was warmly welcomed by Grace who was behind the counter organizing some stuff. She had a mask on, but I could still see her smile thru her eyes. Very nice, calm, soft-spoken woman. The security guy was doing his job by walking around to make sure nobody steels anything. People find that very offensive when a person actually does his/her job and gets paid for it. Store is big, clean, well organized with dressing rooms and multiple articles from accessories, to sweaters, jackets, tank tops dresses, then formal dresses, shoes/boots/flip flops, pants/shorts, belts, formal wears, bustiers/bras hats/barrettes/caps and a WHOLE LOT more. Nicely hung, and very well organized on shelves/tables. I was upset about all those BAD reviews. Yesenia even offered to help me find something. Since I was there, I wanted to find a barrette/hat & added to my collection of barrette/hats and caps... but they didn't have the color that I wanted. They only had gray. I was looking either for yellow or mauve color. Better luck next time. They even apologized to me for not having the colors that I wanted! Prices are affordable comparing to other local businesses. Go check it out for yourself! Store is located on Laurel Canyon/Victory shopping center with a lot of industrial, medical building/facilities. Plenty, Plenty Plenty of parking spaces ALL OVER!!! Keep up the good work & DON'T PAY ANY ATTENTION TO THOSE little shoppers, who don't know what they want.
