I had a great experience hosting my bridal shower here. The events team was accommodating and responsive when planning my event, and made sure everything fit my needs. The food we chose for the event was great - we loved the meatballs, Caesar salad, penne vodka and chicken parm. The bartender also made us a lemon spritz that was very pretty and refreshing. So glad we dropped in during the snow storm. Warm and inviting place with equally warm and friendly service. Food was delicious - as pleasing to the eye as to the taste buds. Came here for dinner on a Wednesday and had a lovely time! The staff is super attentive and the inside is beautifully decorated. It was quite busy and slightly noisy so a little hard to have a conversation but it's a beautiful place. We started with the burrata which was fresh and paired really well with the tomatoes and pesto. Came here for a client dinner and I was really surprised with how great it was! The salads were amazing. I feel like I could eat the salads forever! The eggplant zucchini crisps were really good too. They were so thin and crispy and the yogurt sauce was a nice touch too! The service was good as well. Our waiter was polite and nice! We went back to Gran Morsi thinking of previous times and sadly this spot has really gone downhill. Hopefully it is because it was a holiday weekend, but I can't be sure. We order the meatballs and the frito calamari to share. The meatballs were good with a delicious marinara sauce. However the frito calamari was so small, not worth the $27 price tag that it is. I have had better calamari and less expensive! Not worth it. For mains, hubby got the pizza, which sadly he said was terrible. The crust was not at all crispy. And I ordered the sea bass, this dish was just bland and the fish did not seem too fresh. Overall, I am very sad to be writing this but Gran Morsi has gone downhill for me. read more

My fiancé and I walk a lot when we visit New York City. We decided to treat ourselves to some OTC carb loading with Italian food. I found Gran Morsi on Yelp and was excited by all the photos. We arrived later in the evening and thankfully it wasn't too busy to seat us immediately. This restaurant is very charming. The service is extremely kind. The ambiance is very romantic. I love the dim lighting and plant walls. Our server kindly went over the different menus. They were a part of a special food week and had a $60 three course option. Unfortunately, we weren't hungry enough to each get that. However, we did end up getting some really yummy dishes. I got the linguine cacio e pepe. The sauce was divine. I haven't have a cacio e pepe that good in a while. I finished every last bite and tried my best not to lick the plate. My fiancé got the carbone pizza. Our server warned him it was spicy. It definitely was, but it was delicious. The honey drizzle really complimented the dish. We had a great time at this restaurant. I'd recommend stopping here for Italian food. read more

Our server was fantastic (wish I remembered her name to give her the props she deserves), the atmosphere was perfect, but the food was the real star. If you want to host an event here, I would wait for ownership to change or for the events coordinator team to be replaced with human beings rather than unemotional death profiteers. The wait staff is nice, but the owner is a classless, callous clown. We hosted a memorial event days after a friend passed, and were charged an additional $6k purely because more people walked in the door than expected. NOT for more food or beverages. I gladly offered to give the staff the same tip they suggested (accounting for more people), but the owner's greed was too overpowering. If you wanted to give your condolences? Oh well then you'll have to pay the owner an entrance fee. And no extra food or staff or cost to the restaurant incurred. Just more money for the big guy! What bad people. read more

Came here after getting married at the courthouse with my family! We sat at 4:30pm and they had a small snack bites from 4-6pm and the larger menu started at 5pm. We ordered Al carte since we were a party of 9 but they have a $95/pp all you can eat menu for larger parties, over 6 guests and mandatory for parties over 12. We loved the kale Caesar salad, meatballs and calamari for apps. The portions were small but the taste was outstanding. The complimentary bread was insanely fresh and so delicious! I ordered the branzino special which was so tasty and my new husband got the gnocchi. The gnocchi weren't traditional gnocchi shaped, but they were still yummy. Only one of our guests didn't like her pizza and they graciously comped it off our check. The service was outstanding! Our server was prompt and gave us time to celebrate and visit with each other. The managers were great and even gave me a vase for my flowers. Also, get the espresso martini; it was amazing! My colleague found Gran Morsi and thought we should give it a go for a team dinner. I'm so glad she found this place as it truly was enjoyable from the ambiance to the tasty food. Gran Morsi is located in the Tribeca area. Our server was very kind and friendly. We started with a couple of drinks, I ordered the Gran Spritz which was an aperol spritz with grapefruit and ramazzoti Rosato. This was one of the best spritzes I've ever had. It was so refreshing and crisp. We also ordered the arancini and calamari for the table. The calamari was delicious. The arancini was very fresh but I found it a little underwhelming. For my entree I ordered the Cacio e Pepe and a side of broccolini. The pasta was delicious. A great portion with a lot of flavor. The broccolini was also a good portion and very fresh. For dessert I ordered the tiramisu but also tried my colleagues gf lava cake which was decadent and tasty. My favorite dessert was the a layered Nutella dessert. The service is excellent from the minute you walk in the door. The hostess, bartender, manager, busser, and our more-than-amazing server, Allie, were all wonderful. She was upbeat, knowledgeable about the food and wine menu, and truly made our dining experience very enjoyable. The food was delicious! This is technically my second review of Gran Morsi, just realized I left my original review on Open Table since that's where the initial reservation was. As I stated, service was good, food was bland, especially for the price it was disappointing. We originally had the crab pasta and the NY steak which was dry and the agnolotti (vegetarian squash pasta) which was unseasoned. The restaurant reached out with a gift certificate for us to try it again. We went last night and intentionally tried the specials (shrimp lemon linguini), the lamb sugo gnocchi and the veal chop milanese. Unfortunately, I think our tastebuds just really don't align to the food here. It was more disappointing than the last time. The sweet corn on an overly sauced lemon linguini was not a good type of interesting, the $70+ veal chop milanese was not seasoned at all and came with undressed arugula and burrata with a drop of olive oil on them. My lamb sugo gnocchi tasted sweet like hoisin sauce, it was a very interesting take on Italian food. We both were so hungry but left unsatisfied and with leftovers packed, and walked over to a another Italian restaurant there after. Kinda bummed after an almost $300 bill to be feeling that way the second time. I will say the servers are all very friendly, professional, and detail oriented. Manager is very sweet and considerate, and the overall feel and ambiance of the place is amazing. I think as a foodie, it's just so disappointing to be left hungry after an expensive dinner, not once but twice. Maybe just not for us! read more

We arrived at Gran Morsi to celebrate a bday and it certainly superseded our expectations. Staff was extremely courteous and even offered us the best seat in the house to celebrate! The ambience is warm, romantic and inviting. The tagliatelle and gnocchi dishes were delish. The bolognese sauce didn't skimp on beef and the lamb gnocchi was a first that one me over. Surprisingly, we were most impressed by the kale caesar. In addition to the unique artistic presentation, its probably the best kale caesar I've ever had. To make the dinner even more special they brought out a celebratory bottle sparkle to sing happy bday accompanied by digestivi to cap the night. I came here with two of my friends who also have never been here. We wanted to go somewhere for NYC restaurant week so I found this place and sure glad I did and that we all agreed upon this place. My friends ordered old fashions which on the menu are called Vecchio Stile which is four roses bourbon, angelis orange liqueur, bitters and smoked cedar as their first drink and then one of them ordered a spicy marg which had milagro tequila, amaretto, orange and calabrian chilies and he liked both of the drinks. I had a Tre Fiore: empress 1908 gin, prosecco, elderflower, chamomile, lavender, honey, lemon. The service on our drinks were a bit on the slow side. For food we ordered a margherita pizza to share and my friend and I had the butternut squash soup which had parmigiano-reggiano, sage and pistachio, it was delightful. And other friend had the crudo which was yellowfin tuna, wild salmon, and calabarian chilies and it was crisp. As our mains I had chicken parmigiana that came with chitarra pomodoro. They were all Great portion size and tasty. My other friend had the New York Strip steak which is 14oz, black pepper crusted dish. As a dessert I and my other friend had the Bombolini sundae which was Italian doughnut balls with vanilla gelato and hot chocolate on top. My other friend had the Tiramisu. We also were celebrating a birthday so they brought out a sparkler and also a round of limoncello shots but in non shot glasses. More of an after dinner drink type glasses. Which was very nice of them. Staff were very friendly, took my food allergies into consideration. The atmosphere was chic, though a bit on the noisy side. We had a great table though for the three of us. It was a round booth in the corner which was actually right in front of the Morsi sign so made for a great group picture. The food, though, was just alright. The gnocchi was the best dish of the evening. It was rich and creamy. The lamb and gnocchi were cooked to perfection, but even with the small pieces of squash in the sauce, the flavor profile lacked depth. I found myself wanting something *more* a few bites in. The salmon was interesting. This was my first time trying saltimbocca, and I wasn't expecting it to be bitter! It wasn't unpleasant, but I likely wouldn't order this dish again. Decided to come here for restaurant week. What drew me to them was their meatballs that they proudly boast beat Bobby Flay. The meatballs were flavored well but a little dense. They were good but didn't quite wow me. The tomato sauce was super fresh and delish. the crudo was a bit too 'fresh' for us so we sent that back. The kale salad was sooo good. I really enjoyed the dressing. The shoestring fries were tasty but they didn't really go with the meal. The star of the show was the Branzino. The sauce was DIVINE and cooked to perfection. Wow so good. The panettone dessert was overrated. They light the dessert on fire I guess for performance but to me it ended up burning the caramel. So the sauce tasted charred and the bread pudding was sooo soggy inside. Overall not a fan but the portion size was huge and good for sharing. The pear tart wasn't tart at all. I was hoping for something light but it was overall just bland. The Italian doughnuts were too dense but the gelato was good. The drinks were tasty but a little pricey.
