Nice space and staff in the heart of SoHo, but the prices are very high and food doesn't meet that level. Came for brunch. Started with the meze trio. $28 for 3 little scoops of hummus, labneh, and baba ganoush. The warm bread served with it was a nice touch. Also had the fennel avocado salad for $20 which was good. Entrees we had were the sucuklu yumurta $24 which was nothing more than two sunny side up eggs with l four little slivers of sausage. The Shakshuka for $20 was just scrambled eggs. $18 for a mocktail. $12 for the smallest little side of grilled vegetables. We randomly stumbled into Antique Garage SoHo on a Sunday afternoon while walking around SoHo. Unfortunately, I wish we had kept walking and eaten somewhere else. The ambiance is what convinced us to sit down. It truly is beautiful inside! The artwork, vintage frames, and chandeliers give the restaurant a unique atmosphere. I'd love to give this spot another try since I have heard many positive things about their dinner service and live jazz nights. To start, I typically order tap water at any restaurant I visit and have never had an issue at any other restaurant in the city. The tap water here had a very unpleasant aftertaste. For an appetizer, we got the Tirokafteri, which had spicy Greek feta, roasted red pepper spread, breadcrumbs, and extra virgin olive oil. It was good but very spicy. The Durum Kebab Sandwich was very good. We originally chose chicken over lamb until our server told us twice not to get the chicken, and they said it a little rude. We ended up taking the recommendation and were glad we did. The lamb was flavorful and tender. I also ordered a burger and it was okay, but nothing I would ever order again for $28+. We had a family reservation to celebrate a birthday! One of the older members attending got very unwell and I promptly called and canceled but I was told I would be charged $25*7 = $175 for canceling. I was then told if one elderly person is sick maybe other 6 can show up! I was then told to email and get my refund. Long story short this went on and I got nowhere and no refund and had to have my credit card dispute the Charge. Looks very nice and cozy inside with high ceilings. The tables felt really close together (especially around the booth seating) so it felt a little cramped. Since the tables are on the smaller side, the food didn't all fit at once. Everything was pretty good (calamari, chicken Adana, meze trio) but a little on the pricier side. I really wanted to absolutely love Antique Garage! The ambiance is amazing, the night we were there they had wonderful live jazz and a lovely ambiance overall. Let's start with the positives, shall we: -The Space: I chose this restaurant for dinner because it looked like such a cool space to eat and it absolutely was. We loved the old timey feel with lots of antiques everywhere, candle light, etc. No edits here. -Service: All of our waiters were great, super helpful, kind, courteous, very pleasant to interact with. -The bread: Loved the bread. It was warm and plentiful. I was surprised it wasn't pita, but it was good. -The profiteroles - yummy and covered in chocolate. Who wouldn't like these? Negatives: -The Food: The food was just ok. I'm fine paying higher NYC prices for a good meal, but the food was pretty underwhelming. My mother got the muscles and had grit in every other bite - there were a lot though. The portions for the Meze Trio Platter were very small and none of them excited us. I've had better tzatziki and hummus... pretty much anywhere else. I did like the flavor of the Manti (dumplings), but the meat was a little dry. All-in-all, it ended up being a very expensive meal and we didn't leave impressed. Everything was just fine at best. -Bathroom: There is one stall and it's awkwardly placed in the kitchen area, so if someone is in there you have to stand by tables, which was a little uncomfortable. Highly recommend making reservations in advance as it gets very busy. Love the decor and I can tell it's a family run business. Even with reservations on a Saturday night, we had a short wait, but were able to sit at a bar and enjoy a cocktail. Antique Garage doesn't give you a clue of the Greek Turkish journey you're about to take. A warm but vintage vibe makes the small but cozy dining room somewhere you want to be. Our group of 5 enjoyed some super apps including the fantastic Taramasolata which oozes umami and some fresh bakes pide. Our group loved the variety of Greek classics especially the lamb and the delicious mussels. Really no bad dish in the varied lineup. Service was timely and unintrusive. My family and I made a last-minute reservation here last Friday for dinner and enjoyed our visit! We accidentally made the reservation at their Tribeca location, but they were kind enough to accommodate us at the Soho location. We started with the dip trio and chose tzatziki, hummus, and the fava dip. The fava dip was lacking in flavor, but the other two were great! We also started with the octopus, which was so delicious and fresh. For dinner, the 4 of us shared the large lamb meat platter. It was so incredibly flavorful and juicy. We really really wanted to like this restaurant, but it just did not do it for us. We grabbed a reservation the day before, which was a bit of a rarity for this poppin' SoHo spot. The decor really made it stand out when we were searching for Mediterranean cuisine, and from the positive reviews, we figured we'd give it a shot, despite the hefty price tag. We were seated promptly and service was good, though the one single bathroom for both the indoor and outdoor seating created issues. We went with the Mezze plate starter, the Branzino, and the Grass-Fed Lamb Chops. The food came out within a reasonable time frame, and we were given as much bread as we needed for our mezzes -- which were hit and miss. The best one was the mint yogurt, but the saddest part was that the hummus was a) not creamy b) did not have a pool of olive oil, as it is normally served, and c) did not have the proper flavour (even worse than generic supermarket brands like Tribe and Sabra). This left a really bad taste in my mouth, but I was excited to have my lamb chops. The branzino was perfect, according to my friend, and the bite that I had made me wanting more. However, that more did not come in the form of my lamb chops. My rule is that whenever lamb is on the menu. I get it. Although it was cooked perfectly at medium-rare, the lamb chops, though grass-fed, had absolutely no flavour in their own meat. Don't get me wrong, the apricot sauce was delicious and the searing on the chop was amazing, but the meat itself lacked any gaminess that you expect. It could have been literally any other animal, and you would be none the wiser. Overall, it was a fine dining experience, but it really could have been much much better, especially at this price point. read more

Short review: Notably awful carpaccio, decent main dish. Alright dessert. Very overpriced. Very pretty. I would first off describe the spot as overpriced and very pretty but it's in Soho so I'm not exactly sure what I was expecting but even more so leaning in both directions. A good example is their sour cherry juice which is $10 which is probably the most egregiously overpriced drink in the city. It was most likely Tamek, a brand you can buy for literally 2-3$ in any market and that's the consumer price (at least they added a lime.) Anyway I was here with five others. The service was mostly polite though they took ages to bring out their rather good bread and they didn't bring out a refill until it was asked twice which is a great idea when a few people wanted to try their spreads. I started off with the Leverek Carpaccio which consisted of "Sashimi grade Mediterranean sliced branzino with lemon" which was 24$. The dish was tiny and the flavors of the fish were either surprisingly fishy for branzino or overly lemon flavored. Just not good and completely not worth it for the price. I tried the tarama/ the Turkish version of taramosalata/caviar spread which was fine but overpriced (14$) and another person got another one of their dips which was similar. My main dish was better but it was hard to do worse. I ordered the Spicy Beyti which consisted of "Chopped grilled lamb on a skewer, wrapped in pita, topped with yogurt and tomato sauce" which was 34$. The lamb inside was tasty but a bit chewy but there was a good amount of it. There were faults with the dish outside of the lamb though. I of course was not expecting the price to match the size from most other places but the pita was not that good being a bit hard oddly. They were also kind of skimpy on the sauces. I prefer a stronger spicier tomato sauce but it was mostly yogurt. Overall passable (especially so compared to the appetizer.) Another person got the durum kebab sandwich which they liked. I tried one of the fries which was good. Someone got the seafood pasta (which they also liked,) and I believe the last two people got the burger and the steak. Oddly they have "Sultan's Delight" on the menu which usually refers to one of my favorite Turkish dishes (Hunkar Begendi) but in this case it's a mixed grill which I don't get either but it definitely that goes along with the confused Turkish hybrid menu. For dessert, I ordered the Apricots which is a traditional Turkish dessert consisting of "Organic dried Turkish apricots in thick syrup, stuffed with clotted cream (or kaymak) and almond" which was 12$. It came with five in an order along with some raspberries which was a nice touch. I have referred them from other places as there really wasn't enough cream and usually they have hazelnuts instead of almonds but they were still decent and this was the one dish that I didn't find particularly overpriced. Another person got the profiteroles which were fine. The food here is a good representation of what I find to be wrong with a good amount of spots in Soho. It is overpriced even compared to its peers which both have better food and better service. As someone who absolutely loves Turkish food and Mediterranean food in general, this was a disappointment. Overpriced for average food. The portions were on the smaller side especially for the pastas. Definitely not good value for the money. You are really paying for the atmosphere. The decor and ambiance are wonderful. It has a very European vibe. We ordered a variety of dishes and while some taste better than others most were average, and all were fairly expensive. For appetizers we ordered the Meze Platter and this was a disappointment. It's pretty much bread, not even pitas, with a variety of dipping sauce (hummus, tzatziki, etc). For $34, I wish I could have some meat and pita instead of bread to dip it in. If you come hungry (skipping meals before), you'll leave hungry if you have just one entree. My friends and I decided to not complete our reservation at Galli next door due to their poor management and rude attitude. This was actually my second time here. The first time I came here was maybe 5/6 years ago. I can't recall how my experience was then, but I believe it was equally as good. The night we decided to go here, it was extremely windy, cold and rainy out, so we were so glad when we realized that Antique Garage had a heated dining option available for us without any reservations. The host and waiters at Antique garage welcomed us with smiles and made our experience enjoyable. We ordered the boreki for appetizer and we ordered the durum kebab and lamb burgers for our entrees. Everything was delicious. The meat was super juicy and probably one of the best kebabs I've had in a very long time. Our server was also friendly and attentive and the ambience was really great as well. We would have preferred to sit indoors on a cold night but, the inside seemed to be fully reserved. Regardless, our experience was great. Surprisingly this place has quite a few mixed reviews about service and pricing. The service we had was great, but maybe we caught them on a good night. About 15 tables outside, on the sidewalk and a street-top covered platform. Sonia did a great job serving. She's friendly, accurate and efficient and was a pleasure to meet. Thank you! Tried a bloody Mary to start. It is well mixed, spicy and slightly sweet, garnished with a skewer of spicy olives. Next, the COP shish kebab. This is slender chunks of lamb tenderloin, generously spiced, skewered and grilled. The meat is tender, moist and very flavorful. Perfect for dipping in the creamy, tangy, garlicky tzaziki. It's served with onion salad - thin slices of red onion, marinated in vinegar and spices. Plus a few slices of grilled pita and luscious grilled tomato to garnish. Yum! Also tried the DURUM kebab sandwich. This is chunks of pressed chopped lamb wrapped in pita with a light tomato-based sauce and sauteed peppers. The meat is billed as spicy, but is more flavorful than spicy, tender andlean. Onion salad is on the side, with fries. Delicious! This place is pricy, the meal with one adult beverage topped out at $90. It's a cool place that embodies the SOHO vibe. Worth a try. read more

First off, I'd like to point out NY law that states you cannot refuse cash as a form of payment, and if I call 311 this place would face (for a first complaint) a $1,000 fine; I'd consider it. It's funny how the people that a business decides to hire tends to make or break a restaurant which let's face it, already has a menu that will make you leave feeling ripped off beyond belief and leave you asking yourself why you stayed sitting there for two hours when the meal could have been 40 minutes and 40% cheaper. That being said, we enjoyed the food; the bartender or drink service or whatever you'd like to attribute inconsistency in pour quality to, could have used improvement. The server should be immediately removed and banned from the service industry and did not deserve the 20% I left, even amidst this pandemic. He was slow, unhelpful, forgetful, and blazè af. I knew immediately he'd be bad but he was down-rite terrible. The hummus came out with four small strips of fried pita that even drowning the entire things in hummus there'd be enough overpriced hummus for 20 more "chips" if you will. (Not that there was a lot of hummus, that's just the pathetic amount of dippables there were and when asking for more we were offered regular pita, which was grilled and fresh and tasty) The waiter wouldn't even ask if the lamb sandwich could be subbed for the chicken that's on the menu and just insisted he can't, so we got two of those despite my gf not loving lamb... but she did quite enjoy it as did I; the fries were thin and tasty and the place was sort of cool. All in all if it wasn't for the service and astronomical prices I'd give them four stars minimum, even with the prices I may consider the four stars, but the punk who was assigned our table, he makes it one star. The only reason they get a second star here on Yelp is because it was good and I already feel bad for their shitty hiring practices that I can't give them a third star. The name Antique Garage sounds more like a vintage store or a pawn shop. Surprisingly, it's neither! What you'll get at this elderly-named location is some Mediterranean cuisine worthy of a return trip, even if the name sets in quickly when it comes to pricing (more on that later). For now, just know a double date ensued here a few weeks back with tasty results. For starters (and just to place the name slightly better), the interior of Antique Garage rocks the old school style and vibe of something classical with paintings, chandeliers, and silverware that doesn't quite match. It's all done as a way of setting things up as per the name. Live music from an old piano added to the ambiance. Plus the front windows looked like one of those garage-type doors that will slide open in the warmer weather (another reason for the name!). Enough names, let's eat. AG's menu had plenty of intriguing items, albeit the fact that we're in Manhattan and the more specific location (SoHo) didn't help with pricing. But hey, it was a night out so why not spend a little extra? We totally did as appetizers included a solid humus with garlicky pita sticks poking out from the dip and borek which were little phyllo dough rolls stuffed with feta cheese. I can't forget to mention the crispy/fluffy bread on the table. For main dishes, I went with the grilled lamb meatballs. They were more ovular in shape, but who cares about the ball circumference (take it easy on the jokes now!). It was more about the taste and these were definitely decent. So were the crispy fries on the side. A thick tzatziki sauce rounded out the plate. The real winner was my girlfriend's dish, adana kebab, which had wonderful seasoning that gave the lamb great flavor. Mild jealously set in as I liked hers more than mine! We finished off the meal with some profiteroles (which curbed our sweet tooth) and called it a night. Overall, Antique Garage did the trick in delivering a quality Mediterranean meal, even if we spent quite a bit of the ol' "dolla dolla bills." I'll throw in one line about service as it was good, but nothing that blew any of us away. Take everything into account and I'd say we're looking at 3.5, but we all walked away happy so I'll knock it up to 4 (cause that's the kind of Yelper I am). So if you find yourself looking for some Greek-ish grub, don't pass by Antique Garage. Just know some vintage stuff isn't always cheap. read more

I've walked this place several times and always noticed a huge crowd inside and always wanted to go here but didn't. Infact during my birthday we went to another restaurant closeby and had the most awful experience. I so wish we went here because the food here is so soooo soooooooo good. I went here on a Sunday for brunch. We were a huge group but the waitress was so nice and attentive. She was really nice, she even took pics of us more than once when we asked!!! I ordered the pomegranate margarita which tasted more of booze than fruity or sweetness and I loved that! They were generous with the portions. And she was right, it was SPECTACULAR. I dont eat lamb because I dont like the taste but I enjoyed this so much and the portion was HUGE. It could feed 3 people but I ate it all.
