I picked Chambers for my husband's birthday dinner primarily because of the exceptional wine program, but also because the food is supposed to be really good, too. It delivered on both fronts, but I really was blown away by the wine. The sheer quantity of available wines is really impressive, and the sommelier was able to recommend a rare wine that fit our interests (a fantastic, effervescent, creamy Txakoli that had lovely fruit and minerals). Later, I tried amazing ice cider. The food rundown: -Sesame pizza Bianca: complimentary bread! This was very good and quite sizable. The bottom is entirely encrusted with sesame. -Scallop crudo (rhubarb, shiso): very good and the plating was gorgeous. Meaty scallops with tangy and pungent flavors. -Snowdance chicken (spinach, sherry, thyme): Super tender, crispy-skinned chicken in a savory sherry sauce. -Sea bass (asparagus, hollandaise): I was surprised at how remarkably well this dish worked. The asparagus was so good with the rich, buttery sauce. Definitely a smaller portion, but the chicken was huge so it balanced out. -Potatoes with ramps: Yum. Served hashbrown-style and the ramps were added as little sauce dollops. I loved the space, and by that I mean the ambience and also the literal amount of space we had to ourselves. We got to stretch out in a roomy corner booth. The room featured a lot of exposed brick and grey and utilitarian ceilings, but it manages to be cozy all the same. read more

A new favorite! Joined the waitlist remotely through Opentable at 5:43 on a Saturday night and headed downtown. Checked in with the host at 6:30 PM, and eventually got seated at the bar 7:40 PM. My boyfriend and I shared: + Scallops with rhubarb and shiso + cavatelli + Peekytoe crab toast + Passionfruit tart The complimentary sesame bread, the scallops and the dessert were the top highlights. I had a great experience at Chambers and can't wait to return to try more of their seasonal menu! The restaurant has a lovely ambiance that feels upscale yet inviting and intimate. While I can't comment on the wine list personally, I know they are well-known for their extensive selection. After placing our order, we were delivered the sesame pizza bianca, which is a complimentary starter bread with dinner. The bread was a nice size and light and airy with a perfect crust and a delicious, crusty sesame seed bottom. The prawns were our starter and came three to a dish. They were sizable, though since they are served with the head and tail, there isn't a ton of meat on them. That said, they were flavorful and juicy with a nice sauce and just the right amount of spice that didn't overwhelm the fish. The snowdance chicken was the star of the show! It was incredibly juicy and tender with perfectly prepared skin, so I was happy to learn they keep this on the menu year-round. It was topped with some spinach that was solid, though nothing special. We also ordered a side of mushrooms which came with a creamy sauce and fish roe intended to be mixed at the table. The roe wasn't fishy at all but added a great element of umami to the flavorful, well-textured mushrooms. Overall, the service was very professional, though I thought the pacing could have been improved as the dishes came out a bit slowly. I would also recommend ordering at least two dishes per person, as the three plates we shared between two people felt like just a touch too little food. I'm already looking forward to going back--I'd try the winter chicories salad or the veal sweetbreads next time, but I'm open to exploring everything since the quality is so high. A small-ish establishment, perfect for smaller groups. Chambers almost nailed every checkmark for me, but the place holds enough uniqueness and interest for me to want to come back. The Sesame Pizza Bianca was alright. It was light and fluffy, but had a good texture in each chew. It's lightly seasoned and had hints of cheese within. Not worth $5 for more (if just a singular piece was provided). And I'm a bit disappointed that it didn't come with a dip or spread. Olive oil or balsamic vinegar could've been spectacular. The veal sweetbreads were superb! I wish they considered it to be a main dish. The dish was salty but had good contrasting levels of acidity and sourness. The sweetbreads were nicely salted, not too firm, and was complemented with the garlic chives. The Tokyo turnips kinda felt like it was just there, but it was a nice bite-sized vegetable. The butterball potatoes were quite filling! I thought it was cute to have a large, flatter potato in the middle. They were not shy on the salt and the fry on them was just enough. This dish was almost like a gourmet version of sour & cream chips, so the guilty pleasure part of me wished they leaned more towards that element because it added more depth and flavour. For once, a decently sized chicken with sauce/broth to spare! Every square inch of the chicken could be flopped and turned in the sauce, enhancing the flavor of every bite. I wish there were more spinach, but the scarcity played a role in the presentation, allowing the chicken to shine. And outside of the steep $40 price tag, it was a splendid white meat dish. For dessert, I got the Caramel Apple. I grumble at the premium NYC price tag of $15 because the dessert is pretty small, but it was gorgeously crafted. I loved the deconstruction of the elements and could taste each layer with every bite. But I think it could've been a bit more sweeter and I'd like the apples to be more stronger. Overall, Chambers has its positives and negatives. Some dishes leave a bit more to be desired, but others were quite nice. The noise level is a tad higher than I'd like, but I still wouldn't mind bringing some folks here (though the small menu would make me consider how often I would revisit). read more

Top 5 meal I've had this year and the best wine experience I've had to date. My boss is a big wine connoisseur, and agreed that Chambers has the best wine list and ruins your palette for every other experience, even with a pro sommelier. Our sommelier, as we found out, is competing for the top sommelier in the world, and the fact Chambers has them on staff is a gift! Our table of 6 enjoyed 4 of the best paired wines I've had with a meal yet and we just said "one of everything" - and that is the way to go. The was leisurely, dedicant, and plenty to share amongst the 6. The lamb was a particular stand out in the entrees, and the small plates were all so tasty! The beat and goat cheese starter was all of our favorites, but very close field. The desserts were also all absolutely delectable paired INCREDIBLY well with a port. I should also mention, the fresh bread was insanely good and it took everything in my power not to eat 5 baskets myself and just dip in EVERYTHING. If you like food or wine, but definitely if you like both, and want an upscale and modern but chic evening, come to Chambers. read more

I was really impressed with all the dishes and can't believe I haven't heard of this place earlier?! I made reservations after seeing their special hot chocolate on social media and had a wonderful meal! Started off with the hiramasa which was fresh and went deliciously well with the citrus-y and sweet cara cara orange, as well as the aji peppers! The castelfranco chickory salad was fresh, crunchy, slightly creamy and slightly tangy - basically everything you need in an appetizing salad! Their house sesame bread was fluffy and chewy with a good amount of sesame flavor without having too many seeds. For mains, the farfelle was very interesting and tasty! The pasta was al dente and the sauce was addicting! At first I was wondering if it would resemble a nut butter, but it was creamy with very prominent walnut flavors and interesting texture (perhaps from the blended walnut skin component?). The addition of burrata and other cheeses was perfect for a cheese-lover like me. The pork chop was flavorful, well-seasoned, and juicy. The leek and cabbage mixture soaked up all the sauce and I wish there was more! Their special hot chocolate with an espresso martini marshmallow was fire!!!! Hot chocolate was decadent, not too thick, and not too sweet. The toasted marshmallow melted quickly but definitely had coffee and alcohol flavors. The amount per serving doesn't appear a lot but appropriate considering how rich it is. The mascarpone dessert had a great balance of fluffy cream, extremely crispy phyllo, and crunchy nuts with a touch of chocolate and vanilla! For drinks, I was really curious about the bi lemongrass but they ran out. Staff recommended the semiplume, which felt like a beer, tea, and sparkling wine all at once! While not a super adventurous menu, I thought every single bite of food was outstanding. Really exceeded my expectations, despite being on the 2025 NYT Top 100 Restaurants in NYC list this year. Chicken was super juicy, shrimp had tons of flavor, and the chocolate cake had a delicious sauce that complimented it well. I think the ribeye is the only thing I wouldn't order again - it was good, but this is not a steakhouse and have had better (esp for the price). Wines were expertly recommended too. I also love a good chef's counter seating. Allways fun and interesting to see how different kitchens and chefs function together and push out perfect dishes. We started with their bread, which was fresh and warm and sooo good (if you like sesame seeds), then one of their salads and prawns, to their pork chops with a side of sun chokes. Chambers was the kind of bar that felt upscale but inclusive and inviting for everyone. There were all kinds of guests - regulars, people off work, special dinners - the countertop was lively and tables were more intimate. The bartenders were all so nice and engaging. They have extensive drink selections even for single pours. I got hamachi - nice consistency, subtle and buttery - and housemade gnudi sunchoke - SO delicious! Ricotta and artichokes had balanced sweetness- pasta was just below al dente, very nice, and with perfectly creamy sauce. I then got the black sesame ice cream and self-paired with a boal madeira that tasted amazing- the boal felt enhanced. I would definitely recommend going with multiple people as it's the kind of place to share all kinds of dishes although it's also great for solo diners. This place came highly recommended by colleagues and couldn't be more pleased to have found a walking distance from the office spot that has an exquisite menu that rotates seasonally. We started with their very addictive bread and shared some hamachi Crudo and Gulf Prawns. For mains we opted for their cavatelli and a special that also had seafood mixture. We ended the meal with some decadent but light honey ice cream and marscapone. Everything was delicious without being overpowering. The service was also wonderful and very hospitable. When we walked in with an extra person not on the resy they were kind enough to be accommodating. An unassuming little spot in Tribeca, we walked in on Christmas Eve without a reservation. Opted to sit at the communal table because that all sounded like good fun. Started off strong with a FIRE wine recommendation & the sweetbreads (delicious. what the hell are they? who cares). Now the unexpected part was how truly divine our main course was. Their chicken dish is the only entree they keep on the menu year round, and I can see why. Paired with the white sweet potatoes, genuinely one of the best courses I've had in the city. From the food, service, to the wine list... this place is very on point. Have had most of their pasta dishes but I keep coming back for the wine. Their list is just so comprehensive no matter what you're looking for. Whether it's price constraints or just a preferred type or region, they have more than enough options to get you through the night and wanting to come back to try more. This is also one of the few places in the city that have great options for skin contact wines. The by the glass options are great too; just wish a lot more were by the glass. Their exposed brick and clean light makes you think you've found a hidden alleyway with some good food and drinks. You'll love the overall vibe. It's perfect for a date night, work meal or catch up with friends Sit at the bar, of the kitchen and you'll enjoy watching the chef's prepare beautiful dishes in the most calm kitchen I've ever seen! The food is clean and wholesome. I loved the Hamachi, the chicken, the risotto and the pork chop! Every time we visit there is a different take on the risotto but it's always a winner! New Yorkers are so lucky to have Pascaline curating wines for you. I think they should quiz clientele on cepage from the Mille Vignes and only allow those who are worthy to come in. lol. This is mirroring a Bourgogne dining experience where all food items are there to support the wine. I was visiting from California, bringing the book for an autograph, not knowing it's Pascaline's birthday - all stars were aligned. I managed to pick 3 "last bottles" in the cellar that even Pascaline was impressed. I mean the last time I had a bottle of Belluard was at 4850 in Amsterdam that's already closed! Food wise, get the le ris de veau. And get it again - knowing that it really is the banner repas de Bourgogne to let the wine dance on your palette. Then have a conversation with Pascaline on her wine journey. Appreciate the meilleur ouvrier de France like we did for master of wine and master somm. I was very surprised with my experience at Chambers given the positive reviews I read. The service was perfectly fine; no issue there. The beet salad was quite tasty, but unbelievably small for the price; basically a few bites. My main course was fluke. The prepared sauce was quite nice, but the fish itself was mealy, not at all flaky. Without the sauce the fish was tasteless with a very odd texture. Others in the party had the lamb. It is quite expensive ( I think $95) and served by itself on basically a kitchen plate. It was a rather sad presentation. Without asking it was served almost raw and had to be sent back to bring it to a medium rare. We were recommended a white (maybe a Loire of Languedoc) that everyone at the table really disliked; it seemed corked. This was unexpected given that Chambers known for their wine. The Hazelnut Financier for dessert was excellent, This was certainly the highlight of the dinner. Overall, this was a disappointing and pricey experience. read more

Ambiance, service and food . First time here , my son got a reservation after seeing this restaurant recommended on Tik Tok. We got there when they opened at 5:30 . It was interesting to see the setting of the tone , lights lowered,music started and waiters in their places. Service was excellent and attentive, waiter was knowledgeable about our selections . We wanted to try some different dishes , we had the Crudo raw fish appetizer with grapefruit and a lemony sauce. I don't have the menu in front of me to get the names of the dishes correct but our main courses were the Snow Dance Chicken - tender ,moist, flavorful and the pasta - Farfalle with fennel - such interesting combo that was fabulous - pasta was thin and al dente , with a perfect sauce. Desserts were a beautifully presented lemon meringue and an unusual deconstructed crème brûlée type of dessert that was almost too pretty to eat but we did and it was amazing . We loved this place and will definitely come back. Big plus , although the restaurant was full and energetic - it was well sound proofed and you could have conversations without competing with background music or other diners - the seemed to have done everything right here ! The waiter even helped influence our choices for an upcoming trip to Greece offering his suggestions from his own experiences- thank you for that ! - we were happy he was our waiter . Not a very large restaurant and they hook up fast even though they're relatively new. We secured 2 bar seats on a Saturday night at 6pm. Personally I love sitting at a bar and seeing all the action! We really enjoyed everything we ate - especially our sea bass and lamb. Had a nice dinner here with a friend. Excellent service. Chicken and hamachi were delicious though portion sizes were small. Also got the beets with endive which I didn't love. The endive was grilled and the sauce had anchovies, which were not mentioned on the menu. Side of romanesco cauliflower was good, as was the marscapone phyllo dessert. Per other reviews, the wine menu is extensive/borderline overwhelming. But there was something at every price point and I enjoyed the albarino, which was reasonably priced. Just enjoyed an extraordinarily good meal at this charming new establishment--went with a large party and sure we were drunk thanks in part to their excellent wine list, but the experience was nevertheless met with pretty unanimous and enthusiastic praise. Appetizers were all on point. There was a raw hamachi with chili flakes that my girlfriend ordered that was so good I tried to flat out steal it. I was nonetheless quite happy with my flavorful peach and cucumber salad, with a nice, slightly bitter contrast of garlic scapes and cilantro. Our entrées were both great as well--a tasty and perfectly cooked tilefish for me and a deconstructed eggplant parm with fresh sunchokes and grilled cheddar for her. Sides of grilled broccolini with preserved lemon and fingerling potatoes with a bernaise-like dipping sauce were incredible accompaniments. While I didn't try it, a couple of people raved about the Snowdance Chicken entree. As good as the food was, the star of the show here had to be the drinks--started with an excellent gin cocktail, the Isi and Ida, a refreshing summer quaff with a hint of absinthe. Small but interesting beer selection (including large format bottles) caught my eye, but ultimately there was no avoiding the exceptional and well-curated wine list. With some help of the sommelier, my friends selected a white and a red from Jura, and finished with a dry but fruity Italian red to pair with a cheese dessert. All we're in the $60 range and excellent, though higher-end options are available for those wine snobs out there with more money to burn than I. I tend to grade harsher on the spots that seem to skew trendy or pricier, but simply nothing negative to say here. Prices definitely reasonable for the city given the quality Everything was pretty note perfect--our waiter, Dante, was friendly and efficient, and the sommelier (Pasqueline?) had wonderful, reasonably-priced suggestions, provided with a perfect, just what you'd hope for smidge of Parisian insouciance. Not the first subpar service-focused review of this restaurant, you'd think they would've paid attention to feedback and improved by now. But they haven't. Service: We had a reservation for 8:30 and I was the first of the party to arrive at 8:20. They didn't have a seat at the bar so I stood near the entrance to wait. 8:30 comes around, I was still the only one there, but I ask the host if our table is ready yet. He says the other people in front of us are still dining, that's not abnormal but I would've expected the restaurant to have spaced out their seatings in a timely manner. It's now 8:50 and more of my party has arrived. The table is still not ready, so I ask the host again. He says the table has paid and gestures to them, saying they have children. Not sure how that makes any difference. A table is a table and the children are dining with adults, it's not like they're at the table alone and we're trying to kick them out. It's also not on the diner's to be prompt, it's the restaurants responsibility to uphold reservations. We eventually get seated close to 9 and we asked to place a few orders immediately. They said they prefer to have the food order in all at once, and until everyone arrives we can order from the bar menu. I can understand that it's our party's fault for not all being on time, but this rule seems ridiculous and pretentious. Luckily the wait staff let us place some orders and service was smooth from that point on. Food: I truly expected more. After putting us through such a vigorous seating process, that's unlike other NY establishments, you'd think the food was worthy of a Michelin star. It did not leave a memorable impression. The only dish that I enjoyed was the steak, everything else was overpriced and served in tiny proportions. We pretty much asked them for one of everything instead of even bothering to pick and choose. It's not a fine dining restaurant, it does not have to be in bite-sized portions. Even if it was, if you are paying that price, you'd expect to be fed well. I haven't mentioned anything about flavors because well, I don't remember from the lack of it. Wine: The poor service doesn't stop at the host. The sommelier was also extremely rude and showed no interest in serving our table. We were interested in the bottle and she comes over, rudely asks "how much do you want to spend." Someone from our party says, I don't think that's the question you should be asking. She replies, "well what are you looking for." We give her a few ideas and she says, "that's not enough." Great Atmosphere, simple modern elegance. The first thing you will notice is there is no outside signage. The icon on the upper window is I believe a polygon, more on this later. Once in the door to your right is a communal table. Here people who do not have a reservation can walk in and if there is availability can join others for a meal. The bar also has availability for walk ins. We were unable to get a reservation. At 8:30 on a Thursday evening we walked in and were fortunate to get two seats at the bar. We ordered two glasses of wine. On the glasses are a couple of the same polygons. The edge of the shapes serve as markers for wine pours. The Menu is short and sweet. We ordered the Sea Bass and the eggplant parma Before the meal we were served very tasty somewhat unusual focaccia. Both mains had Complex tastes each was excellent. Sitting at the bar was great, usually my preference. The stools were very comfortable . Our server was friendly and engaged . I look forward to returning to try more dishes. No complaints though I wonder if it is a bit pedestrian of me to suggest a name on the door. read more

Had high expectations but it didn't deliver for me. Ambience was great. Minimalist, communal, great lighting. This place seems like a fantastic restaurant to try out new wines at. Unfortunately I'm not a big wine person. The mezcal-based cocktail I got (the Lafayette) was incredible. However, this is the only thing that I truly enjoyed here From a food perspective, everything was fine but nothing really stood out My favorite was the little gems salad. Nice acidic balance with the flavors. The hamachi, golden beets, pork loin and mascarpone dessert did not feel special to me in anyway. The pork loin was far too over cooked. I will definitely come back here for a drink one day, but will skip the dinner menu. read more

I want to shout from the rooftops about this extraordinary gem in NYC's Lower Manhattan - just a stone's throw from City Hall. The general manager of a midtown restaurant recommended we try it because of its extensive collection of Chartreuse and great wine list. To enjoy a dinner with rare 1960s and even a sip of an even earlier bottling of the French liquer would have been worth the trek from UES, but the food alone overseen by head chef John was brilliantly conceived and full of flavor. Each dish was lovingly crafted and presented professionally by the team at Chambers. The divine tuna and equisitely dressed kohlrabi salad were wonderful starters, but the halibut with sunchokes and cheese gnudi entrees were delicious. Desserts, prepared in front of us at the kitchen counter seating, were amazing finales to start iur new year obsession with this special restaurant. We cannot wait to return often as we understand that the menu changes often even though the sommelier in chief's wine list remains a constant that will impress most connoisseurs. read more

Great restaurant in tribeca. Food wise we had about 4 smaller "then" and 2 larger "followed by." Honorable mentions: Steelhead trout, ricotta cavatelli. I also tried the veal sweetbread. Not my favorite but many people like it. The dessert we chose was mascarpone and it was Perfect. The menu changes often. The som is so sweet! Would come again. read more

Wow! A restaurant in Tribeca I can confidently recommend to someone. How often does that happen? This may be the first and only time. Chambers is successfully manifesting what it claims to be on the website: a down to earth restaurant. It's a smart move on their part: most restaurants in this area are decidedly the opposite of down to earth, so Chambers may be hoping to make a statement here. It's a friendly, unpretentious environment with approachable food that changes frequently based on what's in season and a surprisingly diverse and funky wine menu. Very nearly, but just not quite, a five-star experience. We came here as a party of 4 on a Tuesday night for my mom's birthday. The space itself immediately gave us more welcoming vibes than most Tribeca mainstays, though I'm a sucker for exposed brick (it's everywhere here, and it's beautiful). The design is as minimalist as it comes, so the fare and the energy here give Chambers all of its color. Even though I'm a cocktail girl at heart, I had read that the wine here was particularly special (don't get me wrong, I love wine too). The restaurant that occupied this space prior to Chambers was a wine bar run by some of the same folks, so they stayed true to their loyalties. My fiancé is sort of a wine amateur, my mom and I are wine novices and my dad is a wine expert, so we had a range of palettes going on. And all of those palettes were seriously impressed. For starters, Chambers offers skin contact wine, which is a favorite of mine. My parents tend to drink more traditional/classic wines, but they're always open to something new. I tried the Gewürztraminer, which was an orange wine on draft, coming from a very small producer in the Finger Lakes. A great entry orange wine, not too funky but still with a lot of character. The one that wowed the whole table, though, was the Chenin Blanc, which had some skin contact. None of us had ever tried a skin contact Chenin Blanc and this just blew us away. I know I basically just said the same thing twice in two slightly different ways but that's how good this wine is. Fruity, bright and aromatic. Food-wise, Chambers makes use of local (many of the wines come from local producers too!) and seasonal ingredients, a method that always gets high praise in my book. We came in the summer, so we got lots of fun, bright summer produce throughout our meal. The menu itself is as minimalist as the decor as far as descriptions go, but the flavors are anything but muted. There's a nice variety of options too, which is nice if you're looking to share a bunch of plates amongst your party. Eats, below: Marinated Hamachi w/ leeks and pickled peppers: A Super light and fresh with delicate flavors that highlighted the thin pieces of fish beautifully. Little Gems w/ feta vinaigrette and jersey corn: A So summery yet so rich. The feta vinaigrette is pretty magnificent and I'd put it on just about anything. Sweet kernels of loose corn punctuate each bite and radishes add some extra crunch. Peaches and Cucumbers w/ garlic scape and basil: A I know I said the last dish was summery, but this salad is truly summer in food form. It's simple but so delicious. The peaches were perfectly ripe, the cucumbers juicy and refreshing, with fresh basil bringing everything together so well. I am weirdly obsessed with garlic scapes so I was thrilled to see them added here. They make a fairly straightforward dish much more interesting. Golden Tilefish w/ summer beans, yogurt and almonds: A+ Fish is my protein of choice, and tilefish is something I've only recently become familiar with. It's delicate and almost sweet, which makes it great for summer flavors. This piece was cooked to absolute perfection, and all of the other components seemed obvious only because they worked so well together. That's the sign of an elite dish. Heirloom Tomatoes w/ red wine vinaigrette: B+ I recently had an heirloom tomato dish that blew me away so I was excited to have them again. These were decent but not outstanding. But really, this was the only thing we had all night that wasn't fantastic. read more
