The service, appetizers and drinks were superb! The bartenders truly know their craft. Highly recommend the Ancestral Old Fashioned made with licor de elote (corn) and mole bitters. Fantastic!

If we had to judge a spot on vibes alone, this would be a 10. Great ambiance, decor, and friendly people. Margarita were so fresh, and we loved the strawberry fresh squeezed lemonade! GUAC was fresh, we were there around brunch but the elote corn was ELITE. Totally rocked!!

This is a super cute place with a nice long happy hour in FiDi which is rare. The strawberry margarita was really tasty and sweet, and the quesadilla was good (although I asked for steak and it came without). Our server was otherwise very attentive and friendly, so nothing bad to say overall. I'll be back for another happy hour

Food- 4.5/5 LISTENNNNNNN I usually eat and save some food for later. I saved NOTHING! I had an appetizer and tacos. While the portions were on the smaller side, the flavor was HUGE! The dumplings were delicious! The sauce was PERFECT. So perfect I dipped my tacos in it... okay slathered ‍ Service- 4.5 /5 Great! Didn't take long to place an order or receive the food. That was good bc I had limited time. The only drawback I can recall rn that I didn't get more than 1 napkin. Ambiance- 4.5/5 Nice. Looked very nice inside, huge ceilings. I believe seats less than 100 with an open floor plan yet very very nice!

I had Diablo Steak Tacos & they were so good! Also had the Paloma drink

Waiter was amazing! Especially that it was busy due to the Knicks Parade. Tacos definitely recommend

In my two years of living in NYC, I found it hard to find good Mexican food. And while Mezcali feels more Tex-Mex than traditional Mexican, the flavor is smashing -- I loved it and would go back in a heartbeat! From the drinks (Tropicolada for the win) to the Baja bowl, and especially the Cali-fries, everything was loaded with flavor. The service was prompt, the interior of the restaurant was spacious and clean (also on the darker side, so be aware if you need to bring a light to help see the menu), and the food was great. Easy 5-stars from me!

Stopped by a local bookstore and ended up discovering a new happy hour spot. From 3-6 PM (Mon-Fri) they're serving up yummy quesadillas, gorgeous food presentation, and the star of the show: a strawberry Mezcalita you just have to try. Spacious vibes early, packed party energy by the end of happy hour. I'm already planning my next visit! We had -Mojitos -Green Juice -Strawberry Mezcalita -Shredded Chicken Quesadilla -Shrimp Quesadilla -Jalapeno Rolls -Cali Fries with chicken The meal was very filling and the drinks gave you summer vibes. I really enjoyed the quesadilla, packed with flavor. The Jalapeno rolls were yummy Fresno honey bacon, Chipotle , white cheddar and Gouda with a lemon crema dip. The Cali fries are just loaded fries with black beans, queso, pico de gallo and we added chicken. The stellar cocktail was that Strawberry Mezcalita must try!!! The music was good they played R&B and this place definitely brings the business and finance people with a twist of your every day people.

Great food and drink at this popular Financial District restaurant. Went on a busy Saturday evening for dinner. Terrific Strawberry Margaritas (both on the rocks and frozen) and we tried a variety of dishes: Birria Dumplings, Salmon Tostadas, Cali-Fries, Baja Bowl and Avocado Salad - all very good. About the only miss were the Churros for dessert which were a bit overdone. The staff was friendly and a fun, lively atmosphere. Definitely plan to be back.

This is a must for us whenever we visit NY! Third time we've been here and it's always great. We got lucky to get our same bartender as last time, Rodrigo.

I used to come here every Friday with my family and friends, so I will always have a soft spot for Mezcali. I hadn't been in a while, but ended up going twice this past weekend. It's a fun spot in FiDi with music playing and a lot of seating options. I've been here many times and they are able to accommodate walk-in's 99% of the time. The music and vibe of the place is lively and fun, while still being family friendly. For drinks - their margaritas and mezcalitas are very good. I love the strawberry marg with a sugar rim, but you can't go wrong with any of their options. I don't love the smokiness of mezcal so I always opt for traditional tequila. For appetizers, we regularly get the nachos with chicken for the table. They're loaded with toppings. Also, their salsa trio is a good starter as well. We typically stick to these starters, and maybe an order of tacos. Their mains start getting very pricey, and unfortunately I don't think it's worth the price. This past weekend I tried the Diablo steak tacos which were spicy and pretty good. Overall, it's a good place to get drinks and shareables. Easy going but fun vibe.

Went to Mezcali after work at around 6pm and the place was poppin! We had a reso and had to wait about 10 minutes for our table. They have a great range of drinks and food. I got the mezcalita, which has a nice smokiness to it. We ordered nachos, ceviche, and tostadas, which were pretty good. I got the mole duck enchiladas, which were also pretty good, but I couldn't taste the duck as much as I would've liked. The place was a little loud, but was a fun atmosphere. Definitely down to come back and try something new!

Fun spot in downtown NYC with a lively, bustling vibe and plenty of seating. If you're looking for something quieter, they also have an area downstairs complete with a well-stocked bar better suited for a more intimate evening. We started with the nachos and Cali fries - both solid choices! The guacamole was amazing, fresh and full of flavor. The drinks were also pretty good. The only miss for me was the chicken tacos. They didn't quite live up to the rest of the spread. I found it underwhelming in flavor. Overall, a great place for drinks and snacks with friends or colleagues post work.

birria dumplings ($18) 8/10 def taste like birria and a dumpling. if you like birria def get it to try. would order it again guac ($18) 7/10 the portions are def small for the price. good though fish tacos ($23) 6/10 i love fish tacos but this didn't hit the spot for me. i don't love tomato too much so i think they had a bit too much on top of the taco and not enough fish burrito($20) - 9/10 good portions the burritos is quite thick. the meat is really good. the fries inside is a great touch. little bit messy but that's always fine cornbread - 9/10 this is good. quite sweet and the the salty cream on top contrast well. would def come just to get this again. probably would go very well with icecream for takeout mojito - very strong

This location is convenient to Grand Central, Bryant Park, & Times Square. I was excited to find them after a getting off the Metro North. Unfortunately, the two times that I've eaten there hasn't been great, compared to their other locations in NoHo & Union Square. I'm not sure if the more touristy ambiance & customers makes a difference. First visit got the Pork Adobada Taco ($5-ish). It's similar to Al Pastor (even served with a few pieces of pineapple) but spicy. It's pork marinated in an adobo sauce made from dried red chiles (like guajillo or ancho), vinegar, garlic, and spices. The corn tortilla was very fresh & good but the pork was SO spicy. Some kind of chili oil was drizzled on, in, within, at the bottom. It comes with a sort of green crema. I barely finished - thought it was a joke or something. The second visit I got the Adobada (requested Zero spice) & a Chicken taco. The pork meat was delicious & reminded me of the first time I had Los Tacos No. 1. The chicken seemed like dark meat & was either over-marinated, slightly undercooked, or on its way out? resulting in weird mushy, slightly liver-like consistency. I even picked through the pieces to check for pinkness...the meat was just dark with little flavor. It came with a dollop of guacamole that didn't have much flavor. The corn tortillas also seemed slightly mealy/mushy & underdone. They weren't airy & slightly puffed as usual. I'll probably go back because their location and cost is convenient. But have to make sure the pork has No Spice & not sure how to ask for "done" tortillas. There's always a line at Los Tacos but it moves fast. The condiments & radishes, limes are always fresh. The staff is always pleasant & work quickly customizing your taco, wiping down the All White! hightops & refilling napkins. Don't think there's a restroom FYI.

We had our usual list of spots in Midtown East, but this time we wanted something a little different. We ultimately landed on Mexican, however even then there were several spots to chose from. One of my colleagues found CdM, and since we had nothing to lose we decided to check it out. In terms of physical space at CdM, there is very little; this is actually a walk-up spot hence it is solely a takeout restaurant. The menu is pretty straightforward - lots of Mexican staples with a good variety to choose from. The burrito bowl looked good so I decided to go with that - I was given choice of protein (I chose pastor) and types of beans (I chose black). The bowl was really good - all the ingredients tasted fresh and they were generous with the portion. They added sour cream to the top of the bowl and it came with a side of salsa verde which I thought was a nice touch. We also ordered some bags of tortilla chips to share - these were my favorite kind as they were semi-thick and super crunchy. Overall, I had a solid experience at Cinco de Mayo. It definitely hit the Mexican craving spot and I would have no qualms returning for another meal.

I didn't see any but saw buckets for umbrellas. I opted not to leave it there since I didn't wanna forget or risk someone taking it. I took it upstairs with me. My friend had arrived and was seated. Apparently, they do offer sleeves because she got one. But the 3 people who were at the hostess booth failed to offer me one. The beautiful ambiance will get your attention immediately. It is a stunning space. The tableware was gorgeous as well. We waited for our last friend to arrive who was almost half an hour late before ordering (we thought she'd arrive sooner). Our server, Matias was gracious about it the whole time. What we ordered: Drinks: Passionfruit Margaritas & Mojito - we were happy with them. Tlayudas, Guacamole y Salsas - this was really good and a great option for the table to share. The homemade chips alone were excellent. Liked all the different dips. Guac could've used some cilantro and more acid/spice. Tán Ceviche - I loved this. Super fresh and great flavor. Could use a touch of acid. My entree was the Shrimp & Crab Enchiladas - This was pretty good. The sauce could've used some spice and some acid to cut through the richness. My friend ordered the Yellow Corn Soup as part of her meal and she did not like it. She said it was too sweet which I thought was strange. I tried a spoonful and I agreed with her. It needed a savory note and again, acid would've done wonders. Also, the crab was a bit fishy in this. She enjoyed her tamal though. I tried a touch of the sauce and it was delish. My other friend had the Quesabirria which she was also happy with. To sum up: Ambiance: 5/5 The space is undoubtedly gorgeous. Food: 4/5 Beautiful presentation on everything but each dish lacks an element or two to make it a home run. Staff: Wait staff 5/5. Downstairs staff (greeters/hostess) 4/5. Needs to be more on point like offering customers sleeves for umbrellas or pointing out the buckets to put them in. At some point through our entrees a group of 3 women were doing a 10-minute photo shoot by the stairway where our table was. Absolutely inappropriate behavior and a manager should've stopped it. Camera flashes all up in our faces while we're eating wasn't cool. Overall, still a great elevated Mexican cuisine option. The slight tweaks would make this a 5 star place for me. I'd return to try more things.

Personally, if it wasn't for the drinks and the space, I cant say this place is worth it - you're not coming here for the food. Another little complaint I have is the women's restroom on the second floor - right by the door is a floor to ceiling mirror which I understand was included to make the space seem bigger, but my friends and I agreed that it is a little misleading - I kept wanting to walk into it thinking there was more space there and not wall. I would recommend maybe putting a decal on it to clearly show its mirror.
