Loved the scenery here on my vacay. Came here to check out the beach on the lake. It was very nice. It was a great time to take pics and video because there wasn't anyone there. I am glad I didn't want a swim because even though the lake was high it was 60 degrees or so that day. The only ones in the water were the geese and ducks. The restroom and outside shower were nice. That is the side of the park w the beach parking. I accidentally parked in the conference center parking lot. I had a nice time and saw a turtle on the catwalk. It dived under water. All in all a great place to spend a bit of quiet time at the start of my day. I included a pic of the rules and even though the water level was high I saw pics on Yelp where it wasn't so you might want to keep that in mind as well. read more

The beach is cute, but smaller than I expected. Overall it is clean and there is a decent amount of parking for the place. There's nothing there like in terms of a little food shop or anything like that. The water is clean and there are many cute ducks and geese hanging around the water. There is an area where you can walk and the sand is pretty soft as well. read more

Nice man made beach but the comments you see about poop are real. Some kind of bird poop washes to shore along with some weird trash but the idea of the beach is pretty cool. If the city find a way to keep it maintained and clean it is definitely a really cool spot. There is a little bar where you can buy some water, hotdogs, snacks and ice cream. You can also rent chairs and tents from the bar as well as stand up boards and kayaks. Be aware of your kids in the water, no life guard on duty! read more

The city of Granbury has really done a great job with this "beach". The sand is inviting, the covered picnic tables are helpful and the cabana theme is fun, it's nice that the beach swim area is corralled by the dock to keep people in the area and safe. The dock is nice to walk along. There is a splash pad right off the beach. There are bathrooms and a single outdoor shower. There are so many great things that I love about this beach (and why I'll drive an hour to get here), but the only thing that wasn't great was the cleanliness. It wasn't trashed, or really even that dirty, but there was a good amount of goose poop (who would have thought - it's giant) and quite a bit of cigarette butts in the sand. Other than that, our visit was so nice! We'll be back, hopefully soon. read more

Took our Grandkids here for the day. Super clean, baby soft sand, and water was clean! Free admission, and free parking. We had a great time! Bonus was there was a little establishment on premises that served hot dogs & ice cream! They also rented chairs, canopy shade, kayaks and tubes. Would definitely go again!! read more

Awesome spot. Easy access. I want to say its clean but it's not. Dog dropping goose dropping everywhere. I have a beach back home similar in size and it's nowhere near this dirty. It just takes a little raking and it would be 100x better. Water was awesome and the splash pad is a major plus! read more

Like all reviews, everyone's experiences vary depending on the day you go, but for us on May 28th 2022, it was a wonderful gem of a find. A clean, well-maintained, FREE (entrance and parking) little beach. We got there early around 10:30 am so it would be less busy and less hot. It was perfect, water was cool, sand was soft, just very little shade coverage so bringing your own shade in the summer is a must. It was still busy at that time but not crowded. We spent several hours there and had a great time! There is a little shack that sells drinks, snacks and rents out equipment (for pretty reasonable prices) but we did not partake in that. But it's a great amenity to have there. This beach exceeded our expectations for sure. read more

My only qualm is the drive I have to take to get to this surprisingly awesome beach park some 35 miles southwest of Fort Worth,Texas -- oh, but it's worth it! This is a man made beach off of Granbury Lake. I believe they imported the sand from South Texas (Padres/Corpus Christi). I admit, the first time I came I was a little skeptical. I am not really into natural bodies of water, too many uncontrollable factors to consider, not to mention this is standing water. You know in an ocean or river, maybe there is some sort of purification or less stagnation. But there are living organisms in both so hey. I know, I am that girl. But I did get in and got in even more the second time. I was pleased to see how clean and pleasant it is. The beach is a nice stretch with a restroom, trash cans, a sprinkle park, a volleyball net and a kayak rental shop. I hit the Kayak shop up on my second visit and it was purely amazing. I didn't go too far beyond the bridge even though we wore vests. It was like $21-ish for an hour for a double and like $16-ish for a single for an hour. This is definitely a great and versatile spot whether you are with kids or without. It's family friendly and adult friendly too. I will say I enjoy that we get out there early before the crowds form which is around noon. We went around 9am and got lots of uninterrupted time void of crowds. Plenty of parking. Can't wait to go back and I hope my family makes it a tradition! Good times!!! read more

Very small man made beach on a lake with only a few shaded picnic table areas. When we went in September the beach was covered consistently with what I can only guess was goose poop all along the shore line. There was no really getting away from it. The water/beach had small pieces of trash on/in it. You should bring an umbrella or pop up tent as people arrive in the morning to occupy the few shaded areas and they stay all day. The bathroom is moderately clean, with three stalls for ladies. One outdoor shower spout, a kids small splash area, and a kayak rental spot. The beach attendants were very nice and assisted us and others with our pop up tent. They check icebox chests and also patrol for stragglers outside the swimming boundaries. Free small parking lot, free entrance. No lifeguards. Dogs are not allowed. read more

This is one of the most fun family-friendly things to do around Granbury. And it's free! Save tons of money and skip going to Florida. The kids won't know the difference. The only problem with this beach is that we need more just like it on Granbury. Kudos to the city leaders and the surrounding businesses who helped to improve this area. Another thing lacking is that there are very few good places to dock your boat. read more

I have to give this place 5-stars. It's not Cancun; it's not Hawaii. But it's awesome that the City of Granbury was willing to invest in this project. Parking lot was small but we were able to find a spot after just several minutes. The beach itself is small but the sand was soft and the water was nice and calm. Everyone at the beach seemed to be enjoying themselves. There was no shaded area whatsoever so make sure you bring a beach umbrella. read more

We love this beach during the summer time. People think they are seeing dog poop everywhere, it's duck poop. I'm sure there is some dog poop mixed in. But if you know your animals, you'll see. It's duck poop. And there are lots of ducks. When water is high this is the best place to go, and feel like you are getting away from the busy-ness of life. Close enough to the square that you can walk there for ice cream or lunch, then head back. The cabanas have been updated with new palm shades every year once it starts to deteriorate. The bathrooms CAN get pretty nasty sometimes during peak seasons. Wear shoes! The sand is soft and the water gets warm in June. Can't wait for the sand sculptures to come back and make their art in the sand this year! read more

What a totally unexpected and cute spot! A sandy little beach nearby to the historic little town square, it was just lovely. Lots of people were there swimming and just enjoying the beautiful day. There is a big wooden pier you can walk out on, with a really nice breeze going, it was enjoyable for sure. A nice free activity for the area and a fun stop. Would make a perfect location for a picnic too! read more

We had a great time until we noticed the poop. Poop everywhere! I don't care if it is duck, goose, or dog it needs to be maintained by the city if it is a city park. I'm really disappointed that we wasted our whole Labor Day weekend come down here and get a hotel near the beach only to be to disgusted to enjoy it. read more

Yuck. Maybe I was expecting too much from a lake beach, but there was tons of dog poop all over the beach. It is pretty littered. The outside shower to rinse off retains water so it is pretty much useless. I'm giving it more than one star bc it is an alternative to driving 5 hours to a beach. read more

There is dog poop all along the beach but also a "No Dogs Allowed" sign. I wish they would better monitor the beach or put up poo bags like there are all around that part of town anyway and just make it dog friendly. Love the beach still though, great place to swim for free. read more

This spot is Ammazing! Relax on the beach or have some fun in the water then walk around and get some tasty snacks! If you have not been here you are really missing out on a good time for the entire family! Just be sure to have water shoes and a beach umbrella :) read more
