Visiting the Wagon Yard was near perfect on a recent trip to Granbury. Allow me to explain. South of North Texas you'll find in recent years newly made in Mexico metal signs with minimal tack weld featuring everything from Longhorns, Aggies, Wine, Bar's open...etc. Point being I found every room unique and a bit above the norm for Texas kitsch. Ok, a few things are a carbon copy. Yet, I found some excellent pottery and signs that I haven't seen before. Alot of aviation options, and furniture that seems to be from the area with options for customization. Glad I took a stroll a half block of the square and visited the Wagon Yard.

I met a guy who went to bought a battery at Walmart. He got his car in at 4:15pm. He FINALLY got his car back at 5:55pm -for a BATTERY change. So yah, I FINALLY got my car back at 6:02pm - 2 hours, 47 minutes for 4 tires. The only saving grace was the 2 gentlemen, both associates, who worked the auto center desk. They were conversational and they "felt our pain" as the time ticked by. The Auto Manager, a lady, was there as well but never asked us about our time, our service or for feedback. She probably spent half her time in the office - even if she was working, it was disappointing she didn't ask those of us who'd been there a while how we were doing. The final note of "fun" was the fact when I checked the spare tire, they had just plopped the tire in the back and didn't change it. When i called to ask, I was THEN told - not as I was checking out, but 20 minutes later - the rim for the spare was not the same size as the tire. So - they couldn't tell me that when I checked out, or even better, tell me that when they were spending 2 hours, 45 minutes to put my 4 tires on the car??

I wasn't sure if I was here to shop, to people-watch, or to get mildly lost between a Sunglass Hut and a rogue massage chair kiosk that tried to recruit me like I was joining a secret society. There's a certain charm to a mall that still has both a Build-A-Bear and a Victoria's Secret within 30 feet of each other. It's like childhood and adulthood arm-wrestling in the food court. I wandered past a perfume cloud thick enough to get its own zip code and ended up buying socks I didn't need, snacks I regretted, and confidence I didn't have. It's chaotic. It's weirdly nostalgic. It's Hulen Mall. 4 stars for the experience, minus one star for nearly being tackled by a flying drone toy demo.

Everything looked the same, nice and clean with polished floors, new plants and a steady crowd, mostly a younger generation. There were lots of summer sales and a new store called Q. I think, it's the new Forever 21. However, the Second floor had the obvious smell of smoke mixed with a Columbian Coffee scent. They are working hard to get rid of the smell. They have several Hydroxyl Generators throughout the second floor to help ease the smell of smoke. So, shop til you drop then crawl with a subtle scent of smoke! Lol.

On a mission to find a rose gold hair piece for the bride, the owner Janet, went above & beyond to help a stranger... To be completely honest, her entire family did. While she tried to help me figure out where I might find what I was looking for locally, her husband happened to be in Weatherford. He and their daughter went to multiple stores trying to find exactly what our bride was looking for. He found something beautiful that was a close match to what we needed and rushed back to ensure our bride would have everything she wanted for her special day. Complete strangers went out of their way to help us on my friend's wedding day. When I tell you that the heart and soul of this establishment serves from a place of pure love, I mean that with every fiber of my being.
