The crew showed up Thursday, on time and as promised even when the temp dropped to -12F. They did a great job clearing the roof and cleared the previously cleaned driveway and walkways from the roof snow. The crew was friendly and spoke English and they let me know the progress and were careful where they dumped the snow, as much as possible.

First, the roofers used did not align the replacement…read moreshingles correctly resulting in shingles less than one inch wide along one architectural plane. Secondly, cleanup, a very important part of this job, was poor at best. The PVC siding and AZEC decking was covered with shingle asphalt stains (very difficult to remove). Third, the worker had a very negative attitude because the original flashing, place for over thirty years (with no leaks), was not "standard". Fourth, after the job was completed, Anthony asked for an additional $200, which was denied. (I should have withheld an additional $200 to cover cleanup costs. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! HE IS GRIFTER WITH A LINE OF BS A MILE LONG!

When we noticed the structure sagging after just one year, we contacted John Higgins about the problem. He admitted to us that they did not flash the top of the structure and water must have gotten into the beams. Central Builders came out that summer and flashed the top of the pergola, trapping the moisture inside the structure. The pergola continued to sag and we continued to talk with John Higgins about solutions. Last summer, Central Builders agreed to replace one beam of the pergola, insisting that all other beams had been inspected by John Higgins and his crew and showed no signs of rot or decay.
