Don is very familiar with DC area and comes off professional, passionate about his tour to show you the good, bad, and the ugly truths about DC where you'll walk away with so much information, pictures and believe you visited all four quadrants of the city. I saw places on the Underground Railroad, many historical places and residences of prominent African American figures that fought for justice and equality; also monuments near or on national mall. MLk monument looks especially beautiful at night. This is a must see tour, highly recommended, and a tour to see when in Washington DC. ( Although You'll get a lot of information about DC from Don, still visit the African American museum. In fact, it wasn't until I went on the tour did I learn the original African American museum was located in Southeast DC. I can't remember if parts of it is still open. However, I went to the museum on national mall and it was great as well. The van was comfortable and there was cold water available .)

We signed up for the electric scooter tour (mostly at my behest - because I love them so:). My girl and I were a party of two, and we joined a party of 3 (mom and two girls) for a run ride out on the town. First, we met at the bike shop, where all the scooters and accommodations had been taken care of ahead of time. The shop is conveniently located by this quiet alley, where Barry gave us an overview of the trip, discussed any special considerations, went over relevant safety stuff, and let everyone practice and get comfortable on the scooters (in the safety of that quiet alley). All with a GREAT sense of humor and a smile. It was enough to put even that nervous mother at ease with her girls. (I'm not sure if I had more fun watching him at work with the family, or actually seeing the sites along the tour - haha!). He throws in a couple of bonus gems and things along the way. My guess is that every one of his tours is a little bit different from the ones before it. Then we went and did all the things. I think we were gone for a couple of hours total. I loved it. I'm not sure why, but the whole time, I was in just such a good mood. Thank you Barry, for bringing the joy to the ride. From the bottom of my heart, we are all still smiling. Our guide, Andrew, was witty, cool, and has crafted a great tour that is full of juicy, creepy details and moves across the neighborhood (you'll get your steps in!) A bonus, the vibrant streatery-scene in Georgetown. There are lots of places for a safe outdoor meal or drink following the tour. I'm excited to try out more of Fiat Luxe's tours in DC.

Andrew at Fiat communicated with me via email and phone and kept in touch even after the initial contact. The weather on the day our tour was scheduled was going to be questionable, and Andrew kept us updated with details and advice to make sure our tour went off without a hitch. We chose to take the 3-hour walking tour of the monuments (they have many different tour options). The tour guide was super friendly, professional, and most importantly, knowledgeable. He had access to a wealth of information and could even answer questions that were probably only tangentially related to the monuments and Washington, DC. It was really impressive. The food stops were all locally owned restaurants and the food was delicious. Our guides kept us entertained as they educated us about the history of the area while mixing in enough food stops to keep everyone happy. He clearly knows the city well and is a foodie himself. Jana was our guide each day and our driver was Gabriel. Both of them were so lovely and professional and incredibly knowledgeable of all things US history as well as funny anecdotes, and lesser known facts and things to see and do. My 10-year old son was really engaged and interested in everything he saw thanks to Jana's efficient yet thorough explanations and she is very good with presenting the vast amount of information! He did a wonderful job, fixed us right up for an air conditioned ride with driver Sabastian. Richard was our guide and he did a phenomenal job! Richard has a passion for DC and it showed in the tour he provided. We went places we never thought about for our visit (hint: Secret Service vans at the blockade of a former presidential candidate's home. Not sure if Bill was in residence!).
