I've always…read morebeen reluctant to stay at a bed and breakfast because, frankly, I go on vacation to get away from people in general, not hang out in a house, share a bathroom, and a dining room table with them. In this case though, we were more interested in the idea of staying somewhere haunted. Well, if there is such a thing, this probably isn't haunted. Formally creepy? Absolutely! But the former owners restored the building, added the necessary amenities for a bed and breakfast and eventually sold it to it's current owners who operate it as Prosperity School Bed and Breakfast. We got there after a long, hot road trip and were really grateful the building was comfortable on such an oppressively hot day. We got a brief tour, told about breakfast and were shown to our rooms. The room was formally the school auditorium (sounds enormous but it was merely really large - remember, this is an 1800s school.) and was well appointed. To make a long story short, the owners were kind and thoughtful. Really, B&Bs probably just aren't my thing. It's a little too much like staying at someone's house for my tastes.

The front desk clerk was awesome and positive. She met all the marks on customer service and made the check in quick and a positive experience. If you have time for breakfast, it is located where you check in. We drove to our room where the fun started. Parking is ok and was next to ylour room. As you enter, it can be observed that it's an aged facility. The air was on and the room was very cool, which we like as a family. We quickly hit the bed when we were quickly hit by the stench of the sheets. Being a former Marine, you know dirty sheets, but I didn't care but wife said, "do you smell?" At that moment it became a cartoon as she was sniffing herself, the room, the fly in the room, heck her boys and came to the conclusion it was the sheets. Which I said yup stinky sheets (which another guest had posted about during their stay there) The beds were semi hard but who cared after out long drive. The shower had a steady stream yet toilet was the size of the one I used in my elementary room back in the stone age. They had items to shower but not enough for all. We have to have learned something from covid and stinky sheets should have been one of those things not to practice. If you are solo and just need and inexpensive place that might have dirty sheets, stay here. If you're a family, pay the 40 bucks more stay at another chain hoter.

In each bathroom there was penty of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash offered, as well as towels. Even though there was renovations going on the first two floors it was quiet in the early mornings while it was going on. The hotel also offered a free breakfast for all their guest such as eggs, bacon, potatoes, and different other types of hot breakfast foods they switched daily such as quiche and burritos. And, there were other types of items available such as a variety of cold cereals, hot oatmeal, bread for toast, and bagels. We met Leslie who did the cooking and made sure there was plenty of everything for everyone who came to the dining area. She was very friendly to everyone in the dining area too. She deserves a 10 out of 10 for excellent customer service. And last, but not least, we would like to give Tracy, who worked the front-desk a 10 out of 10 for her friendly and welcoming customer service too. Thank you ladies!

The breakfast has great choices; good ole traditional breakfast items (eggs, potatoes, sausage, toast/muffins/bagels, yogurt, oatmeal, juice, and kid (and adult) friendly waffles). Yummy! Oh and a must..good coffee! The staff stood by ready to help anyone who needed assistance, and they jumped in at times even before being asked. Leave a tip for them! Front desk clerks were helpful and friendly. There were three of us with two beds and a pull out. There is also a full kitchen. The blow dryer was better than anywhere else I have stayed..ha! I didn't visit the pool or hot tub but heard good things! We may stay again for next year's retreat! We're from Indiana and Ohio.

Since it's pet-friendly, it also made me feel like I might leave with the smell of smoke, bed bugs, or fleas on my clothes or luggage. The Wi-Fi is difficult to connect to and not very reliable. On the plus side, the rooms are spacious, the A/C works, and there's a microwave and mini fridge. It's also very budget-friendly. That said, I'd probably spend an extra $20 next time for somewhere that feels cleaner and better maintained.

Well...bedbug bites make for a bad vacation experience. They moved us into another room. We did…read moreonly see one bedbugs, but it was after it fed on my daughter's boyfriend. But ACTUALLY WORSE. The bathroom floors are filthy and sticky. Literally sticking to our feet when we walked. I used a damp washcloth to wipe a small section of floor (about the size of a record album if you know those). Obvious visible grime. Just yuck. Our second room the bathroom floor (while not AS filthy) was also completely unacceptable. Bedbugs can happen but filthy bathrooms are a CHOICE that management/supervisors have allowed to happen. I would definitely not stay in this La Quinta again, and probably will never stay in one anywhere else either based on this experience.

There was plenty of space for the 3 of us. The room was quiet and the beds were comfortable. We took advantage of the heated pool and hot tubs. Very relaxing after an eleven hour drive. The hotel is close to several restaurants in the area so we were able to find something to eat quickly.
